I'm a renovator doing 1 house per year and used to have a HAVC company for specific installations but they jacked up the prices and I don't work with them anymore.
Here is a typical project that I want (did on 3 houses the same) and the price I used to pay in the past years.
Install HVAC system 60,000btu + 2 -2.5 ton AC in a crawling space and remove the current system.
This include some duct work and I used to pay 6600$ including all taxes and audit + get the 2100$ refund so for me the project cost is 4500$.
I worked with this specific company on 3 houses and I see no reason for the price to go up.
If any of you is willing to take this job I will provide the receipt for the price paid and will continue with you, one house per year.
No rush for the installation.
HVAC installation in a semi-detached house in East York, Toronto across 3 levels (basement, main, second). Furnace can either be provided by the contractor or procured by the owner. Permit drawings available. Notes: (1) Permit drawings provide for a higher-capacity furnace (for 2800 sq. ft. area), while the actual area is 1700 sq. ft. Adjustment to be made accordingly. (b) Permit drawings provide for air conditioning unit. Owners are not considering installing air conditioning.
Hi,
I am looking for a complete HVAC installation for a new custom home build. I will supply the furnace and AC, but am looking for a quote on the rest of the work (i.e., ductwork, etc.).
The roof is on the home and framing is complete, thus am looking to start the work ASAP. I've attached drawings. Please reply with a quote and when you can get started.
Thanks,
Nick
Hi - we have an issue with a HVAC duct that has a very low air flow and a possible disconnect somewhere along the line.
We are in a converted loft condo building and the unit is mostly self contained. Looking to have someone come diagnose the issue of the low air flow and possibly repair. The section of the wall that contains the duct is current exposed so would appreciate if someone can review this week.
Thanks!
Need a trade to relocate 2 ducts that were in a load wall we removed and up my columns
Floor cavity is perfect sizing to fit inbetween joists and basement ceiling or cap old vent holes in duct and add two new
Run is lined up where duct is to come up
Being relocated approx 10' per side
Home is 80 years old
ASAP
I live in a condo, so every suite has their own separate thermostat to control the heat/air conditioning. Recently, I went to turn my thermostat back on since I had been away for about 3 days (no sense wasting energy). I find that no heat is coming out and I'm just getting room temp air.
I called the company my condo uses for this sort of thing and the technician said it was "probably" the regulator...and that it would take and hour and a half of labour...and cost $300.
If so where is the regulator located?
Working on a house project in leslieville involving
Renovating house at Brooklyn Ave. in leslieville. i can send you the permit drwgs for discussions
I can send marked-up drawings for the mechanical system Brooklyn Ave. Please be advised that these drawings are for the whole project, including rear additions above grade; we are not building these additions above grade at this time, but recommend installing HVAC rough-ins as required for the future expansion. At this time we will, however, be building the basement addition since we underpinnned the existing semi-detached house
.
i can send CAD files of the current scope of work for coordination.
The heating system we recommend is a hydronic forced air system such as LifeBreath Clean air furnaces. These units have the added benefit of an integrated HRV. Heating in the basement will be from in-slab hydronic coils, fed from the same combi on-demand boiler for the furnace and potable water use.
In the basement we would like to reconfigure the main air supply trunk and the main air return to run along the exterior wall, and connect to the existing branches above grade. Above grade there is to be none/minimal ductwork revisions.
On the second and third level we are recommending air source heat pumps (Mitsubishi, Fujitsu, or other) primarily for cooling. On the third level wall mounted is OK, and on the second level we recommend a ducted unit installed in the closet, feeding the bedrooms front and back. The outdoor compressor can be installed at ground level.
I need a licensed and insured company to work with us on this project. I will have the basement ready for the in-slab hydronic coils BY OTHERS THIS WEEK with gravel and the insulation and coils and concrete poured wed. Ready for hvac ductwork etc. in basement only, and then added work as per heat/loss dwgs and architects dwgs.
Once the new basement conc slab is poured and you supply and install some of the hvac and pump requirements, then you can install the existing furnace for now until the basement is renovated, then bring the new furnace in, along with the other equipment noted above.
we will ask for references and this job starts thursday of next week, thanks
We can supply you with dwgs, and architect comments
Busy general contractor looking for an estimate for HVAC work on a 2200 sq. foot bungalow plus basement of same size. Old ductwork would be completely removed and a new system installed new from scratch. 5 rooms and 3 baths on main floor. 5 rooms and 2 baths in the basement.
Please respond with a ballpark estimate or a price range for this job. We can arrange for site meeting afterwards.
I'm looking for a HVAC company for my house that we are rebuilding/renovating in the summer. We received our CofA approval two weeks ago and we will be applying for our building permit in 10-14 days once we finalize our structural drawings. I also need mechanical drawings and a HVAC company to help with the application for building permit, related to efficiencies of the house. Let me know if you are able to support with the Mechanical drawings and quote the full HVAC project.
We are looking for a new HVAC system for a house in the beaches.
The house is approximately 2500 square feet.
We are doing some renovations in the house and as part of the renovations are adding a second story and rebuilding basement up.
Looking for excellent service with commitment to delivery. The project is starting in 20 days and we are looking to lock in a contract for HVAC for the home.
Can you please share quotes and also options. We are open to discussion if more information is required.
Thank you,
Peter
I am putting in a legal basement apartment. The City of Toronto requires that I put in a smoke detector in the supply or return air duct system which would turn off the fuel supply and electrical power to the heating system upon activation of the detector.
If you have done this before, would appreciate a quote for the work. The furnace is a mid-efficiency gas furnace.
Almost finished gutting 2 floors [basement and main floor] of 2 1/2 story house. i need solutions for the existing system. how to add to it and how it can be changed to improve the heating and air conditioning flow.
Do not want to do a complete pull out of existing ducts. not sure of the time line but we can work around schedules within reason. please feel free to contact me if you are interested.
My home has an existing addition which I would like to add HVAC supply registers too from my furnace. The addition goes into the basement and we are looking for someone to do the design and installation of an additional line from the main stack.
The existing furnace is large enough to handle additional square footage. We do not require framing and finishing work and can prepare the areas as/if needed.
Im renovating, and Im looking for quotes for the following:
All of these are honeywell products:
1) Electronic Air Cleaner - F300E1001
2) Truesteam 9 Gallon Humidifier - HM509W1005
3) Honeywell ERV - ER200B2006 (200cfm)
4) Honeywell Prestige Thermostat AIQ Kit - YTHX9421R5028
I am looking for either these, or similiar products that you support.
I need the thermostat to be easy to use/read, and must be able to control all the products, plus my existing lennox furnace, and perhaps an A/C in the future.
-OR- I can source these parts myself (which I have already have, and found some pretty good prices) so Im looking for some installation quotes aswell.
Need an estimate for LABOUR ONLY to replace furnace with high efficiency, replace a/c with new unit, replace supply/returns in bsmt, replace gas lines. Floor joists in basement run north - south.
The stairs in the picture will be removed and ceiling framed in above.
Scope of work (Basement):
- Replace furnace in same location (against north wall in centre of house)
- Replace A/C in same location (outside east wall)
- Move supply and returns against north wall going west.
- Move supply against south wall going east.
- Run new return to floor (northwest)
- Run new supplies where required in basement for living room (west), kitchen (south centre), bathroom (north centre), bedroom (east) and laundry room (northeast)
- Rerun gas line from entry into home on west wall to furnace through north wall box.
- Rerun gas lines for main floor kitchen range (northeast), basement gas dryer (northeast), gas bbq out (east)
- Remove all garbage
Scope of work (Main Floor):
- Replace ductwork against the stack and tie back in (pictured).
- Cap old return on main floor, run new return into wall pointing into hallway and bedroom.
- Run new supply to floor (Southeast)
I will provide the new furnace and A/C. I will look to you to price the duct work (would like to use slim-line) and gas lines separately.
Thanks
Ryan
I have a storage room with a Furnace in it and a Closet with a Hot Water Heater in it. Gas inspector told us we were out of code as there were no vents put on the door when it was built (bought house like this). We have 45 days to fix it of which time expires May 26th.
I installed 2 vents on the storage room door (one high, one low) that are 4x10 inches each
I installed 2 vents on the Water Heater closet door (one high, one low) that are 3x10 inches each.
I need someone to come by to inspect and sign off that they are vented.
I live in Bloor West Village if anyone in the area can stop by for a quick job.
Hello,
I recently got a gas stove installed and need my vent hooked up. I would like to have the vent go straight up along the wall and into the ceiling and come out the roof of the house.
I have a one story bungalow.
I am not sure what other information would be required...please let me know.
Thank you
Looking for someone to do a baseboard heater upgrade for me. I have six heaters that need an upgrade. What I'm after is:
1. remove old heaters from wall (7)
2. install new heaters (6)
3. install programmable thermostats (6)
I can buy the heaters and thermostats from home depot - I just need them installed properly.
thanks!
GP
I purchased an air conditioner and I need to have it properly put into my window.
I have a small 5,000 in the window at the moment and I purchased an 8,000. The first one was put in very sloppily by my son. The outside of the window is a balcony and the window is a sliding window.
If you are in the area of Eglinton and Yonge that would be great otherwise hopefully you would be willing to come here.
Hi,
I'm considering purchasing a home with electric, hot water, radiator heating. What are the options of installing AC into this house without ducts. Are wall units the only option? If so, does each room need to have a wall unit and is it generally more or less expensive than central air and as efficient at cooling the space?
Thanks
