I would like to have the hot water radiators to be installed in the basement of my semi-detached house. I have three rooms in the basement; each room (size: 14 ft x 7 ft; 14 ft x 10 ft; 10 ft x 7 ft) is required to have one radiator. I already have a gas furnace which is used to supply hot water for the radiators in the first and second floors of the semi-detached house. All the materials required for this work will be supplied by me.
Hello,
We bought an older bungalo and as it turned out both kitchen and bathroon are venting directly into the attic. Thus, we are looking someone to do it the proper way and to install new ducts and vent outside through the roof.
Please let me know your ballpark estimates and we can go from there.
Thank you

I would like to drill and place a vent right throught the laundry room so I exhaust directly outside...Is this possible ? Can this be done ?

We are looking to install a ductless air conditioner on top floor or would be open to any other ideas provided.
Would need someone to come by the house in order to better explain difficulties.
Hello there,

Hello,
We are looking for someone to install microwave in our kitchen (electrical is already done).
You'll need to cut through cabinets and the ceiling in order to install the exhaust duct to the attic and to run flexpipe.
1/2 day's work at most, looking to have it done asap.
Thanks.
In April, I installed an IKEA kitchen in my condo with the help of my friend/family and some not-the-best contractors. Unfortunately, the range hood was never installed properly and has leaky ductwork, so a lot of the air just recirculates back into the cabinet above it.
I believe the main problem was that the duct coming out of the ceiling was originally very close to the wall, and the new cabinets are set further away from the wall (because of the rail system), I didn't cut a big enough hole for it and the tube got pinched/deformed making it hard to not only fit the duct from the microwave into it, but also difficult to apply the aluminum tape around any gaps (specifically around the back, where the air is mostly escaping from right now).
I'm looking for someone to get it fixed up properly so that all cooking fumes can vent out properly. A few other details about the current condition:
• one contractor tried to fix it by just forcing everything in, and tried to secure everything by any means necessary including screws, caulking and plumbers cement, so that might make it challenging to remove
• I had to lower the microwave when installing the new cabinets. I don't think the top of the microwave is as flush as it could/should be against the bottom of the cabinet
• The microwave does not have a damper, a couple of contractors have said that I need it, some have said I don't.
Please let me know if there are any questions! Would really like someone who's both confident in their abilities to fix the issue and in their quote. Photos attached below.
Hi,
we live in an old building (condo) and we have a strong suspicion that we have mold in our AC system.
We would like to
1. confirm/disprove our suspicion
2. get rid of it if it's confirmed: probably means taking apart and reassembling the AC outlet in our unit
Hope I'm in the right place!
Best wishes,
Lena
I am thinking of moving an oversized heating duct to behind a wall, given that the wall is being taken down in the basement for an indoor waterproofing job. The duct currently is something that much be ducked under to enter the basement. I'm wondering what this would cost approximately, and if it is worth the trouble.
Hi,
I have a entrance hallway with no heat, however, the room that runs along side this hallway has 2 or 3 heat ducts running along the adjoining wall. underneath the entrance hallway is a cold cellar with no finished ceiling. I would like to get heat into this hallway.
In the kitchen when the house was retro-fit for the furnace they installed the heat duct on the outside of the wall, I'd like to have it run on the inside before renovating the kitchen (replacing cabinets).
There are 2 rooms in the house that don't seem to get enough heat, during the winter months. Also, I was told that the basement heating can be much more effiecient if there was a cold-air intake near the floor. Generally, I'd like to have the duct system inspected to maximise the heating system
As part of our basement renovations it is possible we need to move our furnace and water heater two feet. I am wondering what the cost would be and if it’s worth the cost to have an additional bathroom. Permits are just being submitted for basement underpinning so this job would be in February or March after digging and before renovations.
Hi Pros;
We own a detached house in Toronto's west end. It has a forced air (gas) furnace but no central AC. We would like to get a ductless, multi-zone AC unit to cover these areas:
- 1st zone: bedroom (150 sq ft)
- 2nd zone: bedroom (100 sq ft)
- 3rd zone: hallway/stairs & possibly main floor coverage (open concept, approx. 500 sq ft).
We don't have any specific brand preference but would like something with a solid warranty. Expect that cost will be on high end of estimated budget scale or low end of next scale up. Other photos or details upon request.
I require a new furnace for my rental house.
Its a bungalow less than 1500sq ft
It requires a chimney liner to meet code
It requires a condensate pump.
Im looking for a high efficiency furnace but im not looking to pay more than $2500.
First contractor to give me a reasonable quote and timeline to do the job I will hire
Thanks
