Our home was built in the late 1970s and we would like to have our attic inspected and the insulation upgraded from current levels of R-12 to R-50 has recommended by a recent home energy audit. We would also like the ventilation levels in the attic to be checked and areas of potential heat loss such as light fixtures and skylights inspected.
I need to upgrade my Attic insulation to achieve energy ratting R50, Property is raised Single story bungalow and approx size might be 1500 to 1600 sq/ft. Please quote along with the material + labour +Tax, and also quote Time needed. And should include removal of existing attic insulation as Frankly speaking I have no idea about it except it's fiberglass foam.
We have a small bungalow that is appx. 35 ft x 18 feet. It currently has attic insulation to an R12 and we want to increase this to R50. This project is time sensitive as we want to take advantage of the rebates being offered. Because we will need to have our secondary audit done by the 31st to qualify, it means that the project will need to be completed before the 19th of March.
My home, a two story, 18 year old home, requires new insulation in the attic. It is a peaked roof that has a few different elevations. The square footage of the house, over two floors is 3500 square feet. I believe it needs spray in insulation. Access to the roof is through a trap door in one of the bedrooms. The insulation has never been replaced, or topped up before. Please send quotes.
-400-500 square foot attic
-current R value is rated 19.9, need to get to R50 to qualify for provincial eco rebate
-current insulation is mix of glass and cellulose
-would like plumbing vent and bathroom exhaust fan sealed
-some mold is present
-if a contractor does both mold remediation and insulation I would like a quote for both
- alternatively I will remove mold before insulation is done
Project Scope;
-Update Attic Insulation
-Attic is approx. 470 sq feet
-Plus 60sq foot skylight tube.
-Existing Insulation is blown in, kind of dark grey material
We would like to
-Remove old
-Apply new
Structure Type
- Duplex
Age of House:
-50 years +
Type of Attic:
-Unfloored Unfinished
Observations- What we have noticed that indicates attic is malfunctioning?
-Excessive Heat in Upper Floors
-Ice Dams at Roof Eaves
-Water Stains on Ceiling
Our Main Concern
-Attic Insulation & Ventilation
Other: We did not get an Eco assessment prior to the government canceling the grants
Install ceiling vent in the bathroom with insulated pipe to exterior
Wire to existing light fixture so that the vent activated when the light is turned on.
Air- seal around all openings and penetrations to the attic such as all ceiling light fixtures and stacks to the attic, air-seal the attic trap door .
upgrade the insulation in the attic to R- 50 , add baffles where necessary to prevent soffit venting form being blocked., check that exterior venting is adequate.
We've recently had a leaking ceiling on our second floor. After checking into the attic (which is small, can't stand up in it) we realize that the heat that's gotten up there has created condensation on the ceiling (attic roof), frozen and is not dripping onto the attic floor and then through the ceiling into one of our 2nd floor rooms.
We believe we need a new (if there is one) vapor barrier and some new insulation.
Attic is approx 20'x14'. Need insulation blown in to add approximately 13" new insulation (currently cellulose of 6" which fills between joists). Attic has one small hatch for entry. Will likely need to install pieces to prevent insulation from falling onto top of soffit vents.
Though the other end of the exhaust duct is left close to roof ventilation, its generating humidity in attic. Its a flexible circulaler aluminium pipe and not insulated. Due to condensation at attic, water dripps back to bathroom. So I want to change the other end of my exhaust duct to eve. Thus removing the humid air of bathroom directly to outside air. Also want to insulate the duct pipe.
Hello,
I need to fix the bathroom exhaust fan in my master bedroom fan so it goes through my roof.
Right now, it vents straight into the attic.
I need a hole cut in the roof and a connection from the exhaust fan into the attic.
The attic is directly above the master bathoom.
Looking to get it done before winter.
Also looking to do insulation for the attic. A separate job, but if you do that too, let me know.
Thanks.
Jay.

A bedroom (16 x 10) with two exterior walls in a Victorian house requires the installation of blown insulation (cellulose or fibreglass) through the existing lath and plaster. Electrical upgrading has been completed and room is ready to go for insulation.
After blowing completed, walls should be patched so that repainting can take place.

-Blowing-in insulation (both existing walls + attic) for a 1929 semi-detached house in Toronto - the 2-story house is about 1100 square feet in total
-It's a double layered-brick wall on the ground floor and a wood structure covered by aluminium siding on the second floor.
-Currently, there's no insulation in the walls and about 3-4 inches of mineral wool in the attic (peak roof at the front to be insulated and flatroof at the back that I don't want to insulate for now)
Our contractor installed our exterior walls in our 2005 (?) ground-floor renovation with no insulation! After many years of noticing how much colder the drafts get, we'd like to fix this. Unfortunately, the walls are quite thin -- I think he put the 2x4s sideways to save space. So I'm not sure we can blow in insulation without removing the walls completely first.
We were thinking of blown-in cellulose or sprayfoam (polyurethane). About 45-50 linear feet of wall, 9' high.
Our house was built in the 1950's and it seems that no insulation has been used in the walls. We would like to add some without taking down the walls. This can be done from the intertior of our home.
Our walls I believe are plaster.
We want to do the exterior walls only and all four walls of the Master Bedroom.
I need a price on blow-in FIBERGLASS insulation for attic. Attic is approx. 1200sqft. Must be R50 FIBERGLASS. I need a price per sqft. Attic is currently empty.

Hi guys,
I need a hand taking down a wall, filling it with Roxul insulation and putting back up the drywall. Should be a relatively straight forward job in a new build townhouse. Let me know what you think - the main purpose is for mitigating sound transfer between the master bedroom and the baby room.
Thanks,
Kailee
