I'd like to upgrade my kitchen and master bathroom. For the kitchen I want to change the cabinets, counter top, tile, paint it in different color, change flouring (tile for tile), install some pot lights etc. For the bathroom, I want to change pretty much everything, including toilet, shower stall, vanity, basically redo the whole bathroom. I have a 1200 sq ft town house. So I have like an average size kitchen and bathroom. I'd like to find out what would be the price or at least approximate price let's say for a basic upgrade and like an average upgrade, but not too fancy.
I have a budget in mind and I need to understanding the prices for this type of work. This is my first renovations and my description might sound not very detailed. I hope I can get some help.
Thanks,
Andrew

We're looking for a reliable contractor to help with the renovation of our kitchen and build a room in our basement. Opening a door that would go outside to our backyard from the newly renovated kitchen is aslo part of our dream! Many little jobs on the side would also be required.
Let us know if you can assist with this project in the High Park (Toronto) neighborhood?
Please reply to this posting using the handycanadian web site. If you have references, web page or pictures, please send me the link/information by replying to this posting. We will be selecting the contractor over the next 2 weeks.
Thanks,
Daniel
Hello, I am planning to renovate the following:
Kitchen:
- Replace cabinet doors and/or entire cabinet units
- Replace countertops (looking at granite)
- Replace sink with undermount
- Replace range exhaust hood
- New backsplash
- Replace floor tiles (currently ceramic, looking at ceramic or porcelin)
Bath:
- Replace floor tiles (currently marble, looking at ceramic or porcelin)
- New wall tiles (currently bare or ceramic, looking at porcelin or glass)
- Replace toilet, vanity, and standup shower, hardware fixtures
Also, replace floor tile that leads from the entranceway to the kitchen (currently marble, looking at ceramic or porcelin).
My place is a condo unit in downtown Toronto. Work is limited to M-F 9-5.
I'm unsure of the size of kitchen and bath, but the entire unit is approx 900 sq ft.
Kitchen is galley style configuration.
Kitchen and bath have not changed since the condo was built over 10 years ago.
Thank you!

Electrical work: Change Switch/plug wall panels with new one. Install lighting fixtures in the ceiling.

My kitchen is 11' x 9' and dinning room is 9' x 8' , there is a corner wall between them. I want to eliminate the wall and make the rooms to a bigger room and redo the kitchen by putting new cabinets.
In my hallway there are tow small closet and behind them is the bathroom. I am planning to make the bathroom bigger by eliminating the closets.
I'm a complete novice, but I'd like to totally redo both the kitchen and bathroom in the house I just purchased. It's an older house located in downtown Toronto. Both kitchen and bathroom are approximately 12'X12'.
I'd like all new energy efficient appliances in the kitchen (stove, dishwasher and fridge) and I'd like to put in hardwood floor and antique white cabinets with a few glass doors. I'd also like a granite counter top. I'd also consider changing the configuration of the kitchen so that I can get what is known as the 'triangle' configuration for a more practical use of space.
In the bathroom, I'd like to get rid of the bidet and update all the tile work around the tub and shower. I'm interested in perhaps combining the shower with the bathtub to gain more space. I'd also be interested in new sinks and cabinets.
Thanks for the help!
Want estimate for building materials and labour only. We will be purchasing finishes separately for contractor to install ie tiles, tub, etc. Keeping same general layout to minimize cost. Therefore minimal plumbing and electrical needed. I will be facilitating this project for my parents and only quality work will be accepted. Ready to start when we find the right contractor. Look forward to hearing from you.
I would like to replace my kitchen cabinets in my condo apartment. I have a granite countertop which, if possible, I would like to retain. The cabinets should be wood, no pressed or laminates, please. Would also like to replace the floor tiles in the kitchen.
Bathroom: I have one and half washrooms. I would like to replace the vanity and the toilet in both the washrooms.
Measurements: Main washroom - vanity - 36 inches width
Ensuite: vanity - 61 inches width. I propose to divide this to vanity + linen tower.
Look forward to receiving quotes.
Thanks,
Jasmine
Hello.
We would like to update our 10x9 ft kitchen (cabinets, sink, granite counter tops and possibly new floor tiles) and update 2 of our bathrooms with new floor tiles and vanity (and for 1 of the bathrooms, new wall tiles and glass shower). We plan on purchasing the materials ourselves and we are in a condo located in downtown Toronto.
Thanks !
We had a small leak in our ceiling and our insurance insurance company is paying a fee to fix the leak. We decided we should get the kitchen redone in the process since it will need to be demolished anyway. There are a few other spots that need repair from the leak in a bedroom on the top floor (our home is 3 story semi in high park area).
My house is built around 1960s but got renovated 10 years back. The job wasnt great in terms of floor condition and kitchen is very small very few cabinet space and open concept. I am looking for closing kitchen to certain extent and get new cabinets as well as do floors and possibly washroom as well.
