Brick work (mortar repair, closing an old unused kitchen range duct, possibly bricking up where an old exterior door used to be), replacing broken exterior exhaust and dryer vents.
A number of other jobs -- exterior door repair/replacement, laundry room plumbing and laundry sink replacement, for example -- if you're a handyman looking for additional work, but the exterior repair work mentioned above is most important, and the "estimated budget" relates only to that work.
(I am the owner.)
No signs of plumbing problems until a few weeks ago, when a flushed toilet on 2nd floor that drained everything well at source. (No overflow ever from this toilet. ) but several minutes later, a backflow went into sink on 2nd floor with fecal matter.
House is 100 year old. We don't know what is underground.. No clean out access.
Snaked toilet from 2nd floor to basement twice. Both times snake stopped. Some bits of roots came up 2nd time....or what looked like roots..i can't really tell what those stringy twirls on a snake could be.
Camera was used and we were told water is in the elbow of a drain below ground level.
Looking for plumber or handy man to
-Remove old laundry sink
-Fix leaking copper pipe/drainage pipes as shown in picture
-Assemble/install Glacier Bay 1001 196 758 laundry sink, providing any needed parts to connect
Notes:
Copper pipes have shut off valve that stop the leak currently.
Require supply line hoses
Sink box mentions p-trap is included but may require tail pipe
During this summer's storm, my basement floor drain backed up and flooded the basement. I would like to have appropriate anti-flooding measures implemented in my basement. The house was built in 1956 and is a bungalow approx 1000 square feet. The basement floor is concrete but covered with cheap stick on tiles.
Hi,
Due to the previous day's rain, one room has water coming out of the floor drain. I would like to have a price to run a camera from inside the house to the pipe where the water is coming from, to determine the cause. I would like this issue to be solved as soon as possible.

I have a Hi-Velocity hydronic (HV-101) heating system mated with a John Wood JWC-111 DW tankless water heater which provide heat and hot water to my household. The furnace is about 5 years old and the tankless about 3.
The problem I have is that when the hydronic heating operates it somehow stops hot water from reaching the domestic taps. This happens even though the tankless heater can produce 200,000BTU and the hydronic heating coil uses less than 90,0000 BTU.
Previously the problem was, I thought, solved by reducing the size of the pump for the hydronic heating and that solution worked for about a year, but has now returned. (Current pump: Grundfos UP15-42 B7)
What I would like a quote for is the following:
1) Add a flow control switch to the domestic hot water to either a) turn off the air handler on the furnace; or b) turn off the pump to the furnace when there is a call for domestic hot water.
2) Replace existing check valve (I have the replacement, would just need to be threaded into place)
The Job would take place in downtown Toronto near the college/bathurst intersection.
Have permits and will send for quote -- Need the following:
Foundation
*Front entrance lowered
*Cutting of mid-way concrete wall
*Cutting of floor for walk-in closet
Plumbing
*Rough-in for kitchen basement suite
*Rough-in for main floor kitchen island
*Rough-in for washer-dryer
*Rough-in for bathroom
Hello to everyone,
in our home, we face a small issue of water pressure. Its it quite low. For instance two people cannot shower at the same time, or use the washing machine, or even flush the toilet if one person is taking a shower.
i've been told it can have two reasons, one being too many elbows in our water pipe system, the other being the plumbing pipe.
therefore i'm looking for a plumber/plumbing company to have a look at our home.
Should you be intersted, i'd be more than glad to meet you and to listen to your advise.
Thank you and best regards,
Mia.

A premises isolation back flow devise needs to be installed after the water meter and its by-pass. This work will also require you to apply for a building permit. This work needs also to be completed as soon as possible. Please see the attached document for the work specifications.
Thank you in advance for your time and attention to this project.
My 2 year-old kitchen sink faucet has low water pressure. According to my condo manager the issue is not the water pressure from the building as they have checked that. I have also cleaned the aerator so that is not the issue either.
I have had one contractor say that the faucet itself may be faulty. He mentioned that someone can try to fix it but it may be better to just replace it in case the effort to fix it is unsuccessful and extra effort/cost would be required to replace it.
I am looking for 2 quotes:
1. Cost of labour to fix the kitchen faucet
2. Cost of labour to replace the kitchen faucet
Our kitchen sinks (x2) are connected to the washing machine wastewater pipe. It started leaking, our landlord disconnected it all and found a small spoon. It's now sitting on our kitchen floor and we need it reattaching please.
There is a blockage in the SINK p trap and it's associated pipes. The sink pipes are held together with solvent weld, already dismantled. Need blockage removing and union fitting system installed (option 1) or pipe reattaching (option 2).
This house was built in 2002 and it seems like it was a rushed build as there are insulation and wiring problems throughout the house. Anyways, I have a leak that does not always occur, but some days while showering on the master bedroom on the 3rd floor, water drips from the ceiling into the kitchen on the 2nd floor through a small hole from where an electrical wire protrudes through. The leak has occurred twice now but does not always happen as I have checked while letting water pass through for 5-10 minutes. Also, the kitchen is not directly below the shower, but a bit towards the north; it is the living room that's right below. There is another bathroom right above the kitchen, however, with a tub.
The water heater is on the main floor.
We have a finished basement and noticed water leaking some of the seams in the drywall. I cut a few holes in the drywall and the water appears to be leaking onto the forced air vent from the floorboard above.
I need someone to help me figure out where the water is coming from (i.e. pipe) and help me repair the pipe.
