~26' high decorative stone column was installed as part of a major facade renewal renovation approx 4 years ago. Masonry job was poor (crumbling mortar) but more importantly, the weight of the column might be stressing the steel beam which supports it. We are looking for:
- removal of existing column
- replacement of column using stone veneer
- matching the chosen stone with the rest of stone on other parts of house as much as possible
- opinion on natural vs synthetic veneer
- take care of (1) interfaces between stone column and adjacent materials (stucco, hardiplank, cedar etc.), and (2) damage (if any) incurred as a result of removal of the existing column, for a completely finished look.
I am looking for somebody to put stones for the front stairs and parging the stairwell for the basement walkout. The front stairs are roughly 14.5 ' wide and 3.5' high.
The basement stairwell door was replaced and the cinder blocks on the sides were damaged and there are some big holes. The holes have been temporarily covered by flashing but that is not staying on.
Hello, We have a porch made of Banas stone and when it was acid washed it has turned the stone yellow to which I have tried CLR, power washing, etc. to no avail, so I believe the only solution now is to remove the damaged stones and instal new ones. I am looking for a quote to remove the stone and replace with new.
Looking to get a Ledgestone type of install around my gas fireplace. The fireplace is a regency bellavista 36xtce, the model allows you to install the stone flush to the edge of the glass (no fireplace frame showing - also referred to as a clean face install)
The dimensions are approximately 82" high, 48" wide, 25" deep. Fireplace is mentioned above but is 36".
We are planning on installing a wood Mantel as well, so the depth might come in 5-6" where the Mantel would be.
Need this done within the next couple of weeks.
Thanks
Front porch repair, cracked across front about 3 feet out from front entrance that resulted in that portion being lower than the first 3 feet. Would like to maintain the 'overhead' (perhaps update with stone/stucco that portion, that has 4 posts that we'd like updated with stone/stucco.
I would like my backyard graded and sod laid and a stone pathway created. The backyard needs to be graded with about a 5% incline going from the back of our backyard toward the front of our backyard (going off to the side of the house) to prevent water from pooling around the foundation of the garage which is near the back part of our backyard. Our backyard is approximately 20 meters long by 15 meters wide and there is a deck and gardens taking up about half of it. We will need sod and patio stones laid (pathway going through backyard and along the front part of the garage with grey natural looking stone) after this. The grading machine will have to be able to fit through our fence opening which is just under 4' wide (3' 10" or 46" wide).
Thank you very much.
Hi,
The concrete slabs / walkways around my house have become uneven over the years with wide gaps, and started caving in towards the foundation at some places.
I want it to be properly graded and sloped for proper drainage so that water / snow does not damage the foundation.
I am looking for a cost effective durable solution that is also easy to maintain.
The areas should be approximately 550 sq ft.
Also my small concrete porch and steps needs some renovation.
Please let me know the cost and how long will it take.
I had to use my front lawn to park an extra car over the winter and would like to get an estimate on how much it would cost to replace the grass first and secondly how much it would cost to replace with interlock - standard grey interlock from builder.
Area to be repaired is 200 square feet
Thanks
Hi,
We have a small front yard area that needs patio stones installed approx. 6' x 6' area.
Now there are already a few patio stones there on which the recycling bins sit, but we need more and are not exactly sure which pattern to select (eg, basketweave, red standard interlock look, etc). The approx price we want to spend on the stones themselves is $7 - $10/patio stone in 24" x 24" size. You pick up the stones and Limestone Screening.
The area has already been cleared and levelled, but there is still some surrounding grass, and you'd likely need to clear or dig a little deeper, in order to put down the limestone and install the patio stones properly.
Please email letting us know how much will you be charging for the total job.
Thanks for reading and responding.
I require a 19' long flowerbed/retaining wall (2' high) along my front patio, single step down to an interlock patio alongside the driveway (approx 150 Sq Ft patio).
I am willing to remove existing slabs, dig out grass/dirt and I have access to a dirt trailor (I will cover the cost of disposal). I will require installation of gravel, screening, interlock, etc...
Pictures of the front porch will be added by end of day.
Patrick
We need someone to cut about 5 bricks for a J turn along one edge. We also need them to cement in the cobblestone border (both below and between). We will buy the materials. This job could be done in less than a day. I can send more photos if you are interested. One photo shows how it needs to look at the end.

We are located in Milton Ontario and have an area that is just less than 10x10 feet in size with 18-inch square patio stones arranged on top of a fine gravel base that need to be removed, reframed - with some needing to be cut to smaller widths - and then re-set to make it level/strong.
We have all materials already (i.e. extra patio stones, 4x4's for framing, etc.) or will purchase as needed and are seeking someone who can do this job and bring their own tools to complete the work by the end of May.
Please see attached photos.
We need to replace stone steps leading up to the house with something more functional. The house is set back from the street and raised. We're thinking of doing wood framed steps filled with interlock but are open to other cost effective and visually appealing solutions. I'd estimate the distance from the sidewalk is approximately 18 feet and the slope (height) is approximately 5 feet from the street to the landing in front of the house.
Currently the steps are made from stones and are not proper height or depth making it uneven to walk up and difficult to maintain in the winter time. As well, we have a large tree at the front of our house. I have pictures that i can email.
I live in a busy area of the Toronto Beaches.I am planning to put a parking pad on my residential front yard.I need a detailed landscape proposal just to submit my application and to Obtain all permits for construction. Most of the porch will have to be removed etc. I would prefer to work with a company that has previous experience with this type of work as there are many city regulations and conditions involved . Please Contact me and I can email or post more details and Pictures if needed to provide estimates. I have Checked with the city and do qualify for off street parking. The parking pad is to be interlocking stone or some other permeable surface.
Please Email Response only at this point.
Thanks,
Gabriel.
I have a small (11' x 13') interlocking stone patio attached to my home. The patio is enclosed on 2 sides by a 3' high brick wall. My objective is to lift the existing interlocking stones and then to regrade the slope of the patio for more effective water drainage away from the house. The stones are then to be relaid and a rectangular drainage opening is to be cut into one of the patio walls to further improve drainage from the patio.
My home is located in the Lawrence Avenue/Victoria Park area in Toronto. I am looking for an established contractor experienced in such work. Should you wish I can forward photographs of the present patio.
I would like some patio stones installed along the back of my house which measures 22' long. Here are some key items about the project:
1. The patio stones can be new or used as long as they are in pretty good shape, and uniform in colour ie. All grey.
2. The most important part is that the stones are sloped away from the house.
3. Not sure if I need 1 or 2 rows, but I would like it to come out about 3'.
4. Some shrub removal is required, as you can see from the pictures.
So in summary, remove what's in the way, lay the patio stones, slope them away from the house.
We would like to widen our walkway to the garage. At the moment it is only 18inch wide, but we need to double the width by adding a second row of 18inch wide stones. This would likely involve lifting up the current stones, and putting them back down with the addition of another 30 stones (all stones are 18"x18").
