Have a shower that was installed 5 years ago but had a lot cracking grout problems. I cleaned the the area and removed as much of the cracking grout as possible (using a grout saw). Now I need it to be regrouted. Possibly need a sealant as well. But don’t know. One corner has some empty space behind, so it looks like it first needs to be filled with concrete Before it can be grouted.
Need Subs for existing projects.
Prefer trades that are singularly focused but will consider those that have a quality end product and priced for contractors.
We have currently 2 projects we need the following
Tile setter for
approx 300 sqft Floor wall and shower.
Drywall hanger and taper.
approx 1300 sqft of board 5/8 fire and 1/2 wall
Plumber for up coming jobs and future work.
I need to replace an old ceramic floor from a 40sqf bathroom. I've got the new tiles already and I can get all the additional material required, I just need the service to remove the old floor and install the new tiles. There seems to be plywood under the current floor, and the area where the old vanity was has no plywood, so I believe you will not be able to re-use the old plywood.
We have a pdf floor plan with square feet marked. You need to see to area, as we will require some carpeting and tiling done.
We are open 11am to 5pm tomorrow, Sunday & Tuesday (We are normally pen 7days a week, but we are closed on Thanksgiving Monday).
NOTE: Quote must be submitted by 2pm on Tuesday October 11 as it is for a grant proposal. The work itself will be started in 2012.
My shower is 36 inches by 46 inches by 7feet 2 inches tall. It has a single glass pivot shower door. The door is incased in marble slabs around the frame. I will buy all the new ceramic tile myself. I'm buying tile which is 24 inches by 24 inches so the installation should be pretty easy as we are not dealing with 1000's of 1 inch by 1 inch or something like that. I will also buy a new vanity and sink. Currently situated right beside the shower wall so old ones will be out at the same time and new ones just to be put in and connected.
Disappointed in quotes already in - either too expensive and over inflated OR from some unqualified "illegal" that can't do all the tasks needed because they are illegal. Not dumb here and not going to be taken advantage of.
No new toilet
No new tub
No new floor
It's a simple task - A new shower build and installed.
We would like two of our kitchen walls, which meet at a right angle, tiled with white "subway" tiles.
One wall is 13 ft x 7ft and the other, shorter, wall is about 5ft x 7ft. Both walls have a wood trim at the bottom which we'd like to keep and we'd like the tiles to extend all the way to the ceiling (just less than 7ft). The longer wall has some plumbing for the kitchen sink and outlets for the stove and fridge, which will need to be considered. This is a basement apartment in an old house, but it was recently finished and the drywall and trimmings are new.
We'd prefer a light grey colouring for the grout, or something other than white that would work with a white tile.
We can supply the tiles or, if the contractor has a preferred supplier we can go with them, but please include the materials cost in the quote for comparison.
My condo was being renovation but the contractor did not finish the job because they only have allocated 2 weeks but promise to finish the job and did not so I am stuck now with the other things like this above that I can't do myself.
The dishwasher is not connected and and the dryer vents. I am looking for a contractor to do the plumbing so I could use the kitchen and the dishwasher. If someone can help me find I would certainly appreciate it.
Hello,
I am looking to replace pre-engineered hardwood floors (floating floor) with porcelain tiles. I wish to have the floating floor removed. Approximately 400 sq feet will be removed and replaced with porcelain tile. The tile will most likely be 30X60cm in size. It has not yet been purchased.
I am also looking at having the condo unit painted. The unit is 509 sq feet. This includes living room, one bedroom, closets, ensuite landry, and one bathroom.
Please provide me with a quote only for the cost of work to be peformed.
Thank you, and I look forward to hearing from you.

Looking to replace a faulty laid ceramic floor in the kitchen and the hallway with Cork floor. The previous owner did not lock down the subfloor before laying down the ceramics. The current ceramic floor is floating and as pressure being put on when walked on causing the grout to slowly coming off.
Our over-the-range microwave died, and we have purchased a replacement (the original microwave has been hauled away).
The exposed drywall area (where the microwave bracket is to be mounted) is less than the minimum height that is required to install the microwave. Therefore, we need a section of tile removed from the wall.
The area of tile to remove measures 1.25 inches by 30 inches. See attached photo.
It seems that the work will require cutting tile as it slightly exceeds the height of the top row of tile. We are able to purchase additional matching tiles if needed.
We had some problem in the bathroom with shower base - water was a leaking through this base to the unit which is located under our unit.
Now after repair a leaking is absent but condition of tiles on the shower base is not good.
We look for a contractor who will repair of the shower tiling base (all or part - I don't know).
I had a tiled shower base made, but the angle is wrong. After every shower, a puddle of water remains in one corner that will not drain. I spoke to the tiler who did the job, and he has no time to repair it so I am looking for a skilled tiler to look at the situation and suggest possible ways to fix the problem then give a quote. Please only respond if you have the skill to fix this without demolishing the entire shower stall. I've attached a photo of the shower and another one showing the base. You can see the reflection on the right hand side where the water is standing.
Access to the bathtub deck was required for plumbing repairs. Ceramic tiles were destroyed in order to gain access. The 3" x 3" white glossy ceramic tiles have to be replaced with identical tiles or other white deck finishing. Condo is near intersection of King Street and Bathurst Street in Toronto.
The main floor is currently covered by resilient tiles and there are developing cracks. The tiles adhered to the concrete slab-on grade suffer from blistering due to moisture penetration.
There are two separate substrates below the floor. Along the south wall the tiles are adhered to the concrete slab. In the north portion of the front office area , the building contains a basement with structural support.
we would like a proposal to remove the existing plywood and new tongue-and-groove plywood 5/8" thick applied to the structural lumber decking. The plywood should be applied on PL-400 adhesive and attached with No.12 wood screws on a 16: grin. The perimeter of each plywood sheet should be fastened with screws at 8" spacing. The screws to th adjacent sheets should be staggered so there is a screw every 4" along the tongue-and groove joint. There is approx 1000sqft of floor replacement with ther following items:
1. The existing tile removal and disposal
2. The existing plywood subfloor removal and disposal
3. New 5/8€ tongue-and-groove plywood application with wood screw pattern as described above;
4. New floor tile application or rolled PVC flooring hot air-welded joints; and
5. Baseboard installation, thresholds and possible door adjustment where new floor height interferes with the door frame.
6. The floors to the concrete slab should be removed and transition coating should be poured with thin -set cement. The concrete spalls should be repaired with polymer-modified mortar, such as Sikatop 1-2-3 or equivalent material..
