There are water marks developing on my bathroom ceiling.
There is a vent in the ceiling to vent out steam through the attic and out the roof. There is a tube that connects the vent at the bathroom ceiling with the vent in the roof. The tube is covered in insulation and plastic (at least from what I can see looking through the hatch into the attic). You would think that would be good enough, but after each shower I can hear drops of water falling onto the bathroom ceiling. Air from the bathroom (warm) is somehow condensing onto the outside of the tube and then dropping onto the ceiling. I have moisture rings developing in the ceiling that are right below the tube. Here’s the messy part. I need a contractor that would be able to crawl into my attic, investigate the problem and fix it. Then I need part of the drywall ceiling replaced. The hatch to get into the attic is snug, the attic just has loose blown in insulation. So it’s really messy up there, plus there really isn’t anything to stand on.
The problem is worse in the winter since it is cold in the attic. I noticed recently that it has stopped because it is warm now and the attic air I think isn’t cool enough to promote condensation on the tube. Because my roof is angled, the tube runs at an angle to the ceiling, so condensation can fall from several points along the tube to my ceiling. Which is why I have more than one water spot on my ceiling.
I would like to start with an online estimate. I recognize this is somewhat difficult and recognize that a contractor must come and inspect the problem to determine a definitive diagnosis and solution. Thanks.
Basement Entrance
Looking to have a front entrance put into our basement.
It will need to be excavated, under pinned, have a retaining wall, rebar and pouring concrete stairs.
Needs to be done to Whitby City Code.
Probably would need 7-8 stairs.
There is enough room for a backhoe to get to the area that will need to be dug.
Basement is finished.
Please contact me if you require additional information

I have a home in whitby on a corner lot. the front faces west onto our address street and on the north side faces the other corner street. On the north side there is ample space where we would like to open a walkout for the basement and thus create an independent entrance that opens onto the side road. There is plenty of space for a large window and door. The house is about 30 yrs old, brick on the main floor and aluminum siding on the 2nd floor. The basement is 8 feet high just like the main floor and is finished. The north wall is about 25ft long.

We have a 3 bedroom house currently. We would like to visit the idea of renovating our upstairs to make it into a 4 bedroom home. We just had our 3rd little girl and room sharing works most of the time but life might be easier if they each had their own space.
All the bedrooms are on the larger size and there is an office nook which we are willing to sacrifice.
Ideally having someone in and helping us with some ideas for changing the space and making it work better for our family is what we are looking for.
bedroom 1 is 11 x 13
bedroom 2 is 11 x 16
bedroom 3 is 16 x 10 with extra space for the ensuite
office nook is 7 x 7
there is one additional full bathroom and a linen closet.
Currently the floor is carpeted, but more then likely going to hardwood. Obviously a few walls would have to come down for this to work but we are open to suggestions.
Thanks for your time
Mike
Hello,
I have two small jobs that I am looking to get completed. I have a deck that I redid the planking on two years ago. I am unsure what I did wrong but my staining was terribly ineffective. It is a 16X20ft deck. I am looking to have the planking refinished as well as the stairs refinished and a railing put on the one side of the deck to bring it up to code.
I used to live in the home and am now finishing the work on the upstairs unit to rent it out. In order to do that I have to enclose the furnace room. I am looking for the room to be completed with a firedoor and drywalling done as a fire barrier.
Is this a job that you would be willing to take on? I am looking at renting the upper unit for June 1st.
Thank You
Chris
Not sure who to contact for this type of project. Our house is almost 20 years old. We would like to make the exterior of our house more appealing. There was some siding on the house which the previous owner replaced with stucco. Not sure what to do I don't like the look. We would like to possibly change the doors/sidelights/garage as well. The house has two entrances. We would also like to change the landscaping. Is there someone that can provide drawings/sketchs of some ideas. Also this would need to include colour ideas for the doors/garages etc.

We would like our current fireplace refaced and the hearth removed. We removed the old wood burning fireplace and had a gas insert installed a few years ago. The existing brick is anglestone and we want it covered to look more modern. Flooring needs to be replaced and we would like some pot lighting added and the popcorn ceiling to be smooth (however that can be done). Our plan will be to hang our tv over the fireplace mantle so electrical will need to be sorted to have as few hanging wires as possible. The space is approximately 160 square feet. Ceiling height is above average.
I am currently living with my girlfriend and her family in a home that has a lot of potential. Organization is something I need to try and put in effect for them, but on top of that there is a 3/4 finished bathroom (stand in shower tiles and water not hooked up yet, they have the materials but can't do it themselves, and the tiles on the tub are in need of being put on as well), a fence that needs to be installed (have the wood), and a deck to be restained and maybe some help with garden set up.
I'm looking for a contractor who can provide a quote on rebuilding a fire escape on a 15 unit apartment building in Whitby. I have a building permit and the necessary engineering drawings.
I've attached a picture of the existing structure - it will have to be torn down.
Thanks,
Harp

I am a business owner and am coordinating a renovation of my store. Floor area is 2,600 sf and is located in Whitby close to Dundas/Thickson. I will potentially need the following work performed:
1. Laminate flooring installation - needs to be glued. Work could potentially involve removal of existing carpet and skim coating of floor to level it out.
2. Removal and/or patching of existing slat walls.
3. Painting
4. Potential installation of electrical pole for cash desk
5. Supply and install a cash desk with a stainless steel counter top. Desk to be built around the cash wrap specs that will be provided.
It would be helpful to have an onsite meeting to further discuss what will potentially be required. I'd also like to quote to be broken down by specific tasks if possible.
Thanks.
Total hardwood flooring is approximately 1000 sq/feet including a hallway with approximately 6 feet of railing.
There is a wall between the living room and the kitchen that is most likely a load bearing wall and I will like to open it up. So i would essentially like a big opening in the middle of the wall and a door at the end where the walls ends. The wall is approximately 10 - 12 feet in length and approximately 9 feet in height.
