The house was built in 1957 and has had only 1 owner. The cement is in excellent condition and the house is very solid. Plumbing in the basement needs to be changed (i.e. sink faucets and drain as well as main shut off valve leaks when turned off or on and plumbing stack is lead not PVC). A full bathroom needs to be put in. The basement is 41 feet long by 22 feet wide. The stairs need to be solidified and finished, a laundry room, storage room and entertainment room is needed along with a full bathroom. The entertainment room has a subfloor and framing already. Insulation and finished ceilings and walls (no drop down ceilings) and electrical. Need permit/references and proof of certifications (master plumber etc..) Concerns are budget......very tight......so finishing details may be left to owner but large work to contractor.
House circa 1950, roughly 40 x 30 ft basement. Original wood panel walls and carpets partially covered with a wooden sub-floor.
Uncertain of condition of basement behind the finishes so would like an estimate of costs for potential repairs that might be found when basement gutted as well.
Have bathroom plumbed above concrete floor currently. House is on septic system, city water, and electricity.
Please give me an estimate of cost and length of time to:
Ccompletely gut the basement
Repair foundation cracks (assuming standard fill and seal type crack(s))
Water seal foundation (is this a process done on the interior the basement)
Run electric for basement kitchen (100 amp service with panel has some spare circuits)
Run plumbing for basement sink
Recommendations and costs for bathroom options, I'd like to get rid of the raised shower/toilet caused by running the drains above the basement floor if possible?)
Install insulated flooring with appropriate solution for any moisture that might arise.
Frame, insulate, drywall (no mudding or painting) into two sections (one for mechanical and laundry room and the rest open plan)
Reasonable estimates for each item most appreciated.
Additional input on best product or method for any of the above work also helpful!
Thanks in advance.
Hi, We are moving into a new house in Dec-Feb 2008-2009. We are looking for a subcontractor to finish our basement. This includes, ceilings, flooring, painting, etc. We are hoping for 3 bedrooms, a large family/games room, a full bathroom, storage room and a laundry room. We are looking for a fully carpeted basement. Please contact me for a quote and so we can go over a floor plan together.
Thanks!
We're in an older home in Aylmer. Our current basement is finished however we would like something more in line with our style. We need to gut the space, insulate (spray foam), replace the old wiring (we have an electrician that we normally work with), remove a piece of asbestos board from our bedroom behind which the former owners had a fireplace. Have a design created, permits obtained and construction completed.
I am looking for a company that can help with ALL aspects of this project.
Thanks!
Hi,
Our basement is finished, but was done by previous owner and it doesn't meet our needs. We would like to change the flooring (curently ciramic tiles in open space and ugly floatting floor in office space), redo the wall joints as it wasn't well done, probably redo the ceiling and make a bedroom. The square footage to work with is about 600-700sqf. We are also looking at adding another basement window.
There's also the option of removing everything and start from scratch.
Merci beaucoup.
Have a 24x24 ft basement. Partially finished. Would like to tear out paneling and ceiling tiles on finished side as well as one interior wall. Move washer/dryer, tuck up water pipes and ductwork. Stud and drywall all walls with installation. Install drop ceiling and lighting. Install subfloor and tile. Wall in furnice. Possibly build two or three rooms ( one bedroom, storage room, laundry room). Looking for ideas on how to partition off rooms etc.
i have a project to finish my basement.
I have about 650 square foot in the basement. My house was built in 2005. in Aylmer Quebec.
No renovation work has been done in my basement
I want to fit 1 bathroom (toilet, shower and vanity);
Living room area. 1 bedroom. and storage area.
laminate flooring, intall dropped ceiling.
i am interested in the labour cost of this job since I plan to buy the majority of the materials needed.
I live in a newly constructed semi-detached home in Aylmer Quebec. The basement is currently completely unfinished but has a rough in for a full bathroom and washing machine/ dryer hook ups. I would like to finish the entire basement to include a family room, bathroom/laundry room and a small storage room. The walls are unfinished so would need drywall, and I would prefer carpet for the flooring. The stairs would also require carpeting. I'm unsure of the square footage but the entire home is about 1400 square feet and it's two stories so I would assume the basement is approximately 700sq feet. There are also only two electrical outlets in the basement so some additional outlets would be required.
I am working with a fixed budget and would not be opposed to doing the project in stages. Ideally, the family room would be the room I would like to start with and I would not be opposed to doing the painting myself.
Looking for an experienced and reliable contractor or handy man to finish a basement. My home is approx 1800 sq ft town home, in Aylmer Qc. It does not matter to me if you are RBQ insured. Simple drywall, closed ceiling with addition of wool to help soundproof, pot lights and electrical outlets required, durable flooring, and 2 storage closets. I would also require a central air vac outlet to be installed for easy sweeping and clean up. Stair covering in either carpet or other flooring material. Possibility of enclosing a room with see through doors to make a bedroom or office space. the rest is open concept family room and storage. Slim chance of requiring plumbing work, basically, I am unsure if it is really needed and would like a quote with and without. Possibility of painting the finished walls and ceiling.
Hello, I would like to get a quote for a basement renovation.
Currently, it is 2 units (studio and 1-bedroom) I would like to convert to a single legal 2-bedroom unit. A renovation permit would need to be submitted to the city of Gatineau before work to start. I have attached architectural drawings for demolition and renovation plans.
Work can begin as early as August 1, 2023 (for the 1 bedroom) and December 1, 2023, for the entire basement (when the second tenant for the studio moves out).
I have also attached a video showing the basement units (see link). Please let me know if any questions.click here
It's a new construction with basement unfinished. The electricity is all done and so the is drywall. The square footage is approx.700 sq.ft. I would like the floor in the main area done in laminent wood and the laundry and bathroom floor in ceramic.
The main area will be open concept and will consist of a "cinema" area and I a small work out space. I would like some storage as well to keep things tidy.
Please provide an online estimate.
Thank you

Exterior walls needs spray foam insulation: 7.5 feet height by 44' x 28' R20 headers and R12 to the floor.

Bulkhead Framing, ceiling drywall, priming and painting walls and ceiling, flooring installed. Electrical for pot lights.(Basement)
New bathroom counter, mirror installed, new lighting over bathroom vanity. (Upstairs)
2 light fixtures installed in two bedrooms.
I just finished gutting my basement and an looking for someone to restore the basement.
1) Replace some of the stripped wires and remove the old wires that are not being used.
2) Patch the holes and cracks on the cement block walls on the inside.
3) Provide an insulating layer on the inside of the basement walls.
4) Clean the floors (presser wash and remove the nails from previous flooring) and lay down a new floor (interlocking rubber mats purchased from either homedepot or rona)
Home was constructed in 2006 and we are the second owners, possession on April 25th. We would like to have 3 rooms created out of one room and a general living space in the basement. The basement is completed and there is hardwood on the floor. There is in floor heating in the basement any renovations have to be aware of the pipes.
Greetings,
We recently bought a house that has a crawlspace and we want to dig to have a full basement.
The house is a split level. The bungalow part has the crawlspace and it measures about 600 Square feet.
The crawlspace is current about 4 feet high.I will like to dig another 4 feet and eventually convert to a living space. The entrance to the space is a 3x3 feet opening. So there is presently no real door.
Right now the basement is damp and wet when it rains. We were told it has to be sealed from the exterior.
The foundation is concrete blocks that were apparently not sealed.
I will like to know how much this project will cost and how long it will take to complete.
The size of the basement is about 650 sq ft. We are looking to finish the basement for a new home, built in 2007, the flooring needs to be done since it is all cement floor now. The stairs going to the basement are wood unfinished and the ceiling has all the ducts exposed. We would like to include a full bathroom and guest room but there is no plumbing done for a bathroom. We have been told that there could be a rough plumbing done by breaking the cement to create plumbing going to the laundry room in the basement where there is a water drain.
We would like an estimate. Our current budget is very tight. Any suggestions? We have received estimates varying from 15,000 to 50,000 CAD.
Our house is about 5 years old with a mostly unfinished basement. We just moved in.
Our plan is to have a family room, bedroom, and full bathroom, as well as a small utility room. Square footage of the family room is about 600, bedroom is 180, and bathroom about 80. Walls are already drywalled, but need to be taped. Ceiling is not done yet, but will be a combination of suspended and drywall. Flooring has not yet been decided. My first priority is having someone tape the existing drywall, followed by the complete installation of the bathroom.
I have approximately 900sq feet of basement to finish. wish list includes bathroom (rough already in place), another bedroom with french doors, gas fireplace. Subfloor is already in place, Outside walls already framed. What I need is framing done for about 4 walls and two closets, drywall, electrical and minor plumbing needed for vanity and shower in bathroom.
Hello there,
I am interested in getting a quote to finish a basement of a Heritage House (built in 1840). Specifically, I would like to know if the basement can be made into usuable living space (recreation room, guest bedroom, bathroom). The basement seems to be dry and the ceiling height allows for sufficient height with a few exceptions where it may be low. I am sending some pictures I took of the basement to give you an idea of what it looks like. The square footage of the basement is around 1500 square feet.
