Hello,
As avid outdoors people, we have saved up for a long time to be able to finally build the deck of our dreams. We have purchased a 12 x 14 cedar beam and metal roof gazebo from Yardestry to go on our newclick here are hoping for the earliest spring install so reaching out early to start planning / contracting process now.
We are looking for a well build, modern/contemporary design and install at a reasonable price. Size is dependent on your design ideas but we think a two level covering approx. 20 x 18 feet with steps might be a good estimate. would like a quote for either PT or Cedar.
We have two young children so a clean building site and professional staff are also important. There is an existing 10 x 12 home made deck to be removed and taken away. There is also the possibly of adding a wooden gate on side of house, the removal of a metal shed and other additions to our project if funds allow.
We understand that this project would be on the higher side of the price range chosen below.
We live in the Rivermead area of Aylmer sector of Gatineau.
Looking forward to your replies!
Ingrid
We have just purchased a cottage in Low, QC - and are looking for a quote to have a staircase built from the house, down to the water with a deck at the bottom of the stairs.
The staircase would have to cover 200ft of steep frontage (not straight but there is a path where it would go so minimal clearing would be required), and the deck at the bottom would be a rectangle with no railings approximately 15' x 20'. We're unsure how high the water rises and are open to the deck being on floats that sit on the ground instead of being under water. The deck would be about 15' from the waters edge.
There is currently a dock, but it's old and would not be considered an asset at the moment.
We're interested in using the most maintenance free materials as possible. Not opposed to composite material as well. If it's not too expensive, we'd like to use cedar.
Get a professional opinion on weather the supporting treated wood beams require replacement as soon as possible due to cracks with in the beam. If cost of replacing the beams is reasonable we may add the update of the deck. The two beams are I believe 10x5.25x5.25 pictures included.
For the cracks on the beam, does it require replacement NOW?
If not as urgent we may pause until spring for a whole deck upgrade to whom ever provides the most comprehensive information of cost and time.
We are looking at having a two-level deck built from our patio doors to our above ground swimming pool. The first level will be approx. 16' x 9' and the second level will be approx. 12' x 5' and will curve around the edge of the pool. There will be one step and a railing with gate between the levels The second level will include a set of stairs to the backyard. An area for storage underneath the deck will also be required. This project will also include the removal of the existing deck. Located in Aylmer
Our deck requires is in much need of maintenance. The wood is not is bad shape but needs the following.
-Cleaning, power washing, and sanding the surface before staining.
-Replacement of damaged boards and corroded screws (minor).
-Refinishing the deck with durable, resistant stain and clear seal.
-Inspection of the railing and supports to ensure safety.
We need a contractor who knows what signs of damage to look for and which materials work best.
Thank you

Late last summer we purchased a multi-level house, built in 1989. The interior was completely renovated four years prior. Currently at the rear of the house there is a small 4 X 5 feet landing (pressure-treated wood) accessible through the dining room sliding glass doors with stairs descending eight feet to a flagstone patio. On the opposite side to this, about 18 feet away, is a 12 X 16 ft. deck (again pressure-treated wood) accessible through another set of sliding glass doors at ground level. This deck has an additional small area jutting out which leads to the above-ground pool.
I would like to add decking that will either expand the small landing or move it to another location while replacing it with a larger deck with privacy screens able to accommodate a 10 X 10 gazebo and barbecue as well as additional decking linking it to the other deck and at least partially surrounding the pool. While my personal preference is for cedar, I'm very open to suggestions as to what type of material would be best to use to coordinate with the existing decks, as well as the design, depending on the cost.
I live in Aylmer/Gatineau on chemin Cook.
Our deck needs to be repaired. It has detached from the house and is beginning to fall inwards. There are also many other issues such as broken railings and it needs to be repainted. Here is a link to someclick here let me know if you are able to do this repair. If possible, please send a quote. Or if you need to see the deck before you can make a quote, please let me know when you are available to come see it.
THank you,
Jason
Hi,
We are looking for to fix our deck as it is no longer safe. Please submit quotes and if you are available in the month of June.
We are not looking for something fancy, we want to keep the same design but have double railing on the stairs. Material: all wood. Budget is maximum 2000$.
Thanks
We just bought a house in gatineau in the winter of 2019. It has 2 walkout patios. We are looking to ha e the top repaired as it is not safe, patio below would need replaced. Looking to keep same design, but make it safer for our two kids
Upper deck 12x12 with railing and a 7in x 6ft x11in step
Lower deck is about 12x14ft need raising.
Awning attached, would need to be put back once completed
We require a new set of stairs and landing to be built at the entrance to our home as well as a new backyard fence. The entrance way is four stairs and a small covered landing at the front door and the backyard fence is approximately 25' across. The fence could be five or six feet high but must include a gate or door.
We are replacing a synthetic material at the front entrance and think we would like to replace it with a pressure treated wood. We are replacing a chain link fence in the back and would like to also replace it with pressure treated wood. That being said we are open to suggestions.
Thank you.
I need to redo my front porch which is all wood. I'd say about 50 sq ft, might want to make it about a foot deeper, there's room to do that, it's about 3 feet deep now so at least 4 to 5 feet deep would be perfect. Would prefer to still have it done in wood, house was built in 1973 but the porch isn't as old but definitely about 10 yrs old or more.
I do have to save up for it but would be ready to get it redone during this summer which is why i would like an idea of how much it would cost.
Looking to have two footings added to enable gazebo to be affixed to it. Also would like quote on potentially repairing deck off of 2nd floor bedroom. Plywood flooring seems to have water infiltration and has become soft in spots. I imagine it has to be pulled up and redone. Gazebo footings is more time sensitive than the deck seeing as the gazebo is in my garage waiting to be installed.
I am located just across the Champlain Bridge in Aylmer. I have a large balcony facing west that needs protection from the sun. The project would require the contractor to do all aspects of the work, ie. the transportation to the condo and subsequent installation. I would like the awning to be motorized so I do not have to roll it in and out by hand.
We have a 2 level deck. Lower level is rotten and needs to be hauled away (would like quote for dismantling, but we might do this part) and be rebuilt. Approx 160 sq ft, with 2 sets stairs - one to upper deck and one to ground. The upper level (it's a split level house and balcony doors open to the upper level), I'd like to consider expanding, moving the current staircase, and generally re-leveling and stabilizing it. While I'd love to have it done sooner versus later, it isn't critical to us until late June. I anticipate this to cost a few thousand, but at this point I really don't know what we're looking at so I need a few estimates. I'm not interested in plastic wood - cedar or, if (I can't afford), then treated wood.
Hi There:
I have a solarium off my rear sliding door that was damaged by winter snow and ice; I want to replace it with three walls and a roof with skylight and a sliding door, on a 10'x14' foundation on blocks (perhaps pour footings instead) and also add a cedar deck off the replacement building.
Can you give me a quote for the renovation? The sooner the better - please advise.
John
Hi,
We would like to build a deck on top of our garage. We are open to proposals including different material types for the deck. For the rail we would like black aluminum posts and glass barriers.
The size of the deck is 25' x 23'.
Attached are a couple pictures of the work site.
Description: Small wood deck/landing and 3 wide steps to be built over existing back door concrete steps and patio stones. Approximately 4 x 8 feet. Railings required at each end of deck/steps. Details to be discussed on site including materials (likely cedar).
Location: Aylmer (Gatineau), Quebec
Good day
I have water leaking behind fake balcony 90 in x 30 in. above main door. The sealant between the balcony (made of composite wood and covered with aluminum) and the brick wall has deteriorated with time. The inclination of the balcony is now towards the house instead of away from the house which causes some water to come inside the house.
Need to fix the inclination of the fake balcony, clean old sealant and apply a new one and close behind the balcony.
Thank you.
