1880's brick-faced triplex, 3rd floor balcony needs repair including: aesthetic work - ie refastening/replacing of decorative wood elements underneath the balcony, new floor, painting, but more importantly may also need to be re-anchored or solidified.
I will upload a picture of the balcony this week, but in the meantime the closest photo I have is of the front entrance of the building with a 'peek' of the underside of the balcony over the doors.
Hi,
I am on the 3rd floor of a triplex and our front balcony (14ft x 5ft) is showing signs of rot. I would like someone to come have a look at it and suggest what needs to be done to repair it. In addition we would like the exterior metal staircase and railings re-painted.
Thank you,
Mia
house built in 1975.....
re-do a powder room that was not done properly last year...replace one wall with gyp 4 x 7,tile the bathroom half-way up the wall, approximately 60 square feet....and re-paint .total bathroom size is 31/2 by 5.
deck: Replace the surface of a 10x10 deck, and replace six steps with either red-cedar of fiberglass, and replace the deck railings with aluminum railings.
I currently have a balcony approx 18 ft long and 3 foot wide that runs along the side of my condo (2nd floor of a triplex). I would like to extend the width by 6-8 foot over what is currently an open paved parking spot. Ideally the deck would be constructed with wood.
Please could you give me an approximate cost for design, materials and labor?
Cheers,
Nicolas
We need to redo our back deck (14 x 18, plus lead in, flower boxes and stairs). Prior to the deck, we would like to fix and paint or recover the stucco on our home extention (which is cracking and the trim is rotting) and improve the drainage in the back of the house to avoid leakage problems in the basement. At the same time it makes sense to review the land use around the perimeter of the extention to see if we can't cover off some muddy areas and generally clean up the appearance.
We require two quotes:
1) Build a 230 square foot third floor deck on top of second story structure. In basic treated wood, according to plans attached.
2) Two parts to this submission.
-Build temporary support structure for current 2nd and 3rd floor decks while 1st floor demolishes back extension.
-Build final permanent support structure for 2nd and 3rd floor decks which allows space underneath for 1st floor to rebuild in future.
-Please refer to photo attached of current 2 decks.
**In the quote we will need to know if any permits or plans from engineers or architects will be required.
Hello,
My name is Tim, we live in Pierrefonds. We recently repaired a crack in our basement. The repairer had to take apart the old deck in order to dig under it. Now the ground is very uneven (sloped toward the house, which means water going toward it) and we need to build a new deck. Can you give us a budgeted estimation, i.e. how much would it cost me to have you build me a new deck in the backyard?
Thank you in advance,
Tim
Hi,
I need someone to build a railing around my wooden deck (backyard) and along my 8-step staircase. This has to be done asap, since the City has already send an inspector... :( The porch floor and staircase were build in the fall of 2015, in red cedar. I would like to have a railing made of aluminum rods and and red cedar handrail (4" x 6"). I hope that you will get back to me soon. If I am happy with your work, I will have other more substantial projects to offer you.
Please call me asap!
Martine
Looking for a company to come in and build a wood deck for a small cafe in Montreal. Very rough measurenments 30 x 30. Built in planters or flower boxes a plus. We are tenants, not owners. Building owner not willing to contribute so budget is limited. Would love to have it up and running before mid May. Knowledge of city permit regulations a plus as we have a retauration license.
The house is a single story, flat roof, brick exterior, 750 sq. ft. built in approximately 1939.
Project Outline for Covered Porch:
Area of porch is 22' 5'' X 5' 6''
1 Remove and haul away existing porch
2 Extend cement pad by 29''
3 Build new porch of wood to be painted at a later time. Must be constructed in a way to fit screen/window frames. (see attached plans and photos)
4 Roof Covering should be of transparent material. (plastic or fibreglass)
I pulled out my old deck thinking I needed to replace only the flooring but the whole decks was completely finished the only thing that is left is the left and the right supports. I am on a budget and I would like to know if it is possible to have a nice safe deck to about 500.00 the size is 16 x 16.
I am looking for someone to re-build my balconies including a lower floor deck for my duplex.
Lower floor - deck approx 10 feet x 12 feet, replace wooden structure that covers stairs to basement
Upper floor - replace cantelevered balcony plus siding on outside cabana
Above upper floor - siding on the face
Plus all soffits
Staircase has been removed and will need to be put back into sonotube
Please let me know if you can do this in the next 2 weeks.
Thank you
27 ft by 15 ft irregular deck. To be rebuilt now that flat roof has been redone. Guard railings (15 ft by about 20 ft)
around edges. A storage shed of about 6 ft by 4 ft. I am including pictures of the original deck. I would like a good quality wood, please make suggestions. See pictures of original deck.
I need my second floor balcony and ground floor deck replaced in the back of my dwelling. The total square footage for both decks would be approximately 300 sq ft. I want to use cedar for the decking. I would need to have some type of roofing over the basement staircase and doorway to weatherproof the entrance. I would like to have the project completed before August and I have a budget of between 10K to 15K.
Old concrete terrace (12 x 8 feet) needs to be expanded (12 x 12) and covered with a new material - probably I will go with composite. The new terrace will require new railings (aluminium). Moreover, it will require a new roof structure (8x12).
The terrace is about three feet above ground. the four concrete steps to the garden will also have to be covered with composite. Moreover, siding will be necessary to cover the space between the ground and the terrace (28 feet length of siding necessary).
Estimates welcome. job is in NDG
I know that the industry has a mandated vacation coming up soon from July 24 to Aug 6 and ideally I would just like to know if any contractors would perhaps be interested in at least looking into the job. I was hoping to get the work done in Sept-Oct, so there is no really big rush or anything.
I have a 2nd story condo, built in 1927 (located in Montreal, Quebec). The front balcony top plywood has deteriorated and needs replacement. Approximate dimensions are 4' by 10'. I'm looking to replace the rotten plywood with fresh plywood, fibreglass or planche galerie (wood).
There are a few pictures included to get a sense of the job, but I welcome anyone who would like to come by and take a look first hand.
Thank you so much!

We have the flooring of our 2nd floor balcony which needs to be replaced with a fiberglass top and new railing in pressure treated wood to be installed. The size of the balcony is approx. 12' x 8'. We would prefer someone available before the summertime rush. We also have a few repairs to the front door porch before it can be repainted. We will be supplying the materials (except fiberglass top) for the project.
Hello,
