Hello,
I would like two things...
#1. I am planning on moving and would like to update my bathroom and kitchen counter before I put my house on the market. The bathroom is small 63 1/2 inches x 58 inches with a shower built into the back wall measuring 32" x 31" x 81". There is a toilette and a vanity. I would like to replace all the tile, lay base boards, put in a pedestal sink, new fixtures on the sink and in the shower and new lighting on both sides of the mirror (the lighting is currently above the mirror and on the ceiling of the bathroom and a third light on the ceiling of the shower. I would also like to paint the walls.
Along with this I would like to replace the kitchen counter with butcher block and marble, as well as a bar top attached to the other side of the cabinets, the space that I would like to have marble on measures 91" x 14" x 7" x 91" and 82" x 24" and the space for the butcher block measures 89" x 24"
#2. I would like to move into an older building, living in Montreal there are so many beautiful older buildings. I would like to move into one that may have some renovation possibilities, that being said I would like to hire a structural engineer who can evaluate the entire property as well as look at my plans for renovation and tell me if it will be possible with the current structure of the building or will I have to reinforce everything...
Any help would be greatly greatly greatly greatly appreciated!!!!
Thank you
Gaetanne
Want to tear down and close up existing bathroom (it's 'inside' the kitchen area today). This will free up space to have a larger kitchen.
I want the new bathroom to be in the room next to the kitchen, approx 3 meters diagonally from where the 'old bathroom' is at the moment. The hot water tank is directly under the kitchen, so existing plumbing already goes through the floor from basement to ground floor (kitchen). However, I'm not sure if we can re-plum across floor utilizing existing piping, or if new holes should be drilled through the floor in the new bathroom location.
The house is from 1921. Brick walls. Still old concrete basement floors and beams in structure. Some old electric wiring in basement.
Please contact me by text message or email if you would be interested in quoting on this bathroom renovation/relocation project!!
I need help with plumbing and installation of new toilet bowl, sink, vanity, shower, heated floors, lighting. Please include which part of this you have expertise and which part you would subcontract.
Best regards,
Kenneth
Hi. we have a small bathroom we want to make it bigger by using the adjoining closet we want a tile shower floor included we would by the doors glass 90degree doors and we want to move the tub putting a stand alone tub that means extending the drain for shower and tub new pocket lighting tiles on floor and along half wall
thank you,
Josee
I am located in Westmount. The building is 100 years old but completely renovated in 1980s. I have a 4 piece ensuite bathroom, 2.4m by 2.4m. It has a very small plastic shower stall and a jet tub. Everything works fine and there are no issues but the functionality of the space is not good. I have a sliding door from bedroom to the bathroom so the entire space in the bathroom is used.
I want to remove the tub and the shower and put a bigger tiled shower with jet system. I may want to move the toilet also, it depends on the budget. I would need a custom closet/laundry space and other fixtures and vanity. Since the floor will be removed I may put a heated floor also depending on the budget. My budget is $10,000 at most.
Please let me know if you need other information before seeing the space.
Thanks you for your response.

Hello,
We are planning a full bathroom renovation in our 100+ year old home. The bathroom is approximately 10' X 10' and we want to remove interior walls to add insulation and vapour barrier. We have purchased a new vanity, toilet and shower kit - bathtub still needs to be purchased. These items need to be installed. Most plumbing will stay in the same location. A bathroom fan must be installed and vented to the exterior (no exterior vent exists right now). Flooring is currently hardwood and we intend to install new hardwood flooring (already purchased). The shower and tub surround will be tiled (unless we select a free-standing tub).. New lighting will be required. We can do some demolition ourselves. We have a hot water radiator which we want to replace with a more streamlined and wall mounted Runtal hot water radiator (if possible).
This is an old home so there may be some surprises when the walls are opened up. We would prefer a contractor who has experience with working on older homes. If you can give us a rough estimate of cost that would be helpful. We are located in Montreal, QC.
Thanks

I want to redo the rest - take out prefinish and cermique tiles ond walls, redo the floor, add new ceiling with islolation, etc.
I alreadt purchased my ceramique tile and new plumbing for bath.
This bathroom renovation is for a bachelor apartment of a duplex. This purpose of this project is to reconfigure the bathroom to allow for a washer/dryer installation. The bathroom tub needs to be removed and replaced with a shower. The removal of the tub will create the space required to install the washer / dryer behind the current showerhead (see pictures). Therefore I need someone who can complete the whole job (remove tub, iinstall shower, install copper piping and PCV draining, potential electrical, HVAC). This project also requires the installation of new ceramic wall and floor tiles as well as some drywalling, plastering and painting and installation of a ceiling bathroom fan. Recent job references will be required.
Complete en-suite bathroom renovation required. Currently, the bathroom has a sink, toilet and small cabinet. No redesign is required, everything to remain in the same position. Work required as follows (to be discussed with the contractor):
* complete demolition

* install fan
* installation of new toilet, cabinet, sink, faucet and mirror
* prime and paint
I would prefer to use standard material. Premium brands not required. Looking for contractors to visit and discuss with written estimates including firm pricing and estimated time to complete.

We bought an old house that needs a lot of work in DDO Montreal. For example, two bathroom renovation, basement finishing, veranda upgrade etc. We are seeking someone who is available around the beginning of October. We need to move in before Nov.15, so at least a main bathroom and floor need to be finished before.
Hello,
I live in a condo (approx 960 sq/ft) and looking for a reliable contractor for renovations.
These are the few things I am interested in :
PLAN #1 :
-Change the Bathroom completely (flooring, paint, vanity, shower, etc)..looking for a modern/zen look
OR
-we only have 1 bathroom in the condo, but i would like to know if its possible to make that into 2 full bathrooms, so the master bedroom has its own)and then renovate both of them (floor, paint, shower, vanity, etc)
Plan #2:
-put granite counters in the kitchen
- put pot lights in the cabinets
Plan #3:
-paint the condo
-buffer the floors (and or change the floors completely)
-Add more light fixture or keep the existing ones and install different lamps/lights there
Plan #4 :
-if possible make the guest bedroom into 2 small rooms.
***Can you please give me a rough estimate of cost and also, do you provide all the material or do i have to buy the everything myself? and how long will all this renovation take***
We're planning to gut our two bathrooms ( full bathroom + half ), front metal stairs + concrete driveway + back yard deck ( wooden 4 feet x 10). How much would this cost and where to go to get advice ( Home Depot ?). We live in 1300 sq feet townhome in Montreal. The front driveway is small, it is sloped and fits one car. The metal staircase goes up to the door. Bathrooms are very old and everything needs replacing. Backyard, the old deck is metal and we like to remove and add a typical wooden deck with stairs leading down to the patio. We would like to resurface the cabinets + main counter in our kitchen, add hardwood if there is money left over. However, we have no idea where to begin at this time.
I'd like to renovate an existing bathroom, complete renovation, and add another half bathroom. I'd also like to do a closet remodel for the 2 walk-in closets I have. I have 2 rooms that need painting or wallpaper, and a remodel of the balcony. There are miscellaneous details around the apartment that also need to be changed and updated.
This is in mile end Montreal.
i have multiple sagging wood beams in my crawl space of my 100+ year old house. I need some excavation to be done, then concrete bases poured and reinforcing beams under my house support beams added.
this is in a warmed space so i can go the repairs now or wait till spring.
Depending on what you recommend i might have to replace some beams that are rotting on the ends.
Complete renovation of shell building (former furniture store and window shop) into residence, gathering area, and hobby workshop. Initially requesting design services; would prefer to use same firm for design and construction.
Detailed RFP (with project description), photographs, informal structural engineer's report, preliminary floor plan, etc, will be provided.
Please be aware that this RFP was self-prepared by people who are not construction professionals. If anything in the RFP seems wrong, it's probably our error; feel free to call it to our attention.
Looking for estimates from local GC's who specialize in brick and masonry repair.
I have both a front and rear brick/stone wall of a triplex which require both appointing and replacement of brickwork.
Also need to have an ancestral foundation checked for structural stability which is located in a very narrow crawl space (1 to 2 foot). There is, however, a single vertical access pit which allows some access.
Finally, some gravel would need to be added to the roof.
This is the result of an inspection that was done recently which lists all areas of concern.
The structure is a heritage building built around 1900.
Hello,
We are a condominium building and we have two projects. The first is the digging of a trench on one side of our building (approx 80 feet in length) to expose brick that is currently under ground and sucking in moisture. The trench should be approx 3 feet deep at the deepest end and about half a foot deep at the shallow end because the amount of brick currently underground is not even. The trench should then be filled with something like small stones or gravel of some sort.
The second project is cosmetic repair of the brick on the facade of the building. Replacement of about 20 bricks or so and filling of mortar in places where it is missing.
Thank you
