Looking for someone who is willing to remove plaster from a brick wall. The wall is approximately 40' feet long and 9'5" high. Ideally if it were possible to remove the debris as well, that would be advantageous.
The terms are negotiable. Either a flat rate for the entire job or a price by the linear foot.
Hello.
We are moving from montreal to sherbrooke this summer. I have a outdoor playhouse that I would like to have moved. It is approximately 6 feet by 8 feet and eight feet from floor to roof, made of wood. It is elevated on posts, but those can be cut off. The play house is located in our back yard. Section of fence will need to be removed to gain access
Please let me know if this is something you might be able to help with and I can send pictures and more details.
Thanks a lot
Jake
We just discovered a small crack in the ceiling in the room that is under our rooftom terrase (see the picture attached).
It could be just a bad job done or potentially could be the leak coming from the deck and causing the crack.
We meed someone to cone and check it to understand what is happening.
ASAP please!
Budget depends on problem assessment.

Hello folks,
We have recently purchased a duplex in the Villeray area which is in pretty nice condition except for a little work we want done. The second (rented) floor will need work in the future but for the time being we're focusing on the main floor and (finished) basement which we will be living in. What we'd like done are the floors on the main level which are ceramic tiles throughout except two bedrooms with old wood. We'd like wood floors put down instead, not floating wood, throughout the whole main floor excluding the bathroom. We'd also like new paint throughout the whole main floor, the basement is fine. Possibly new doors hung as well (undecided yet) and last but not least we would like a new wooden fence surrounding the yard.
I live on the ground floor of a condominium and I experienced water infiltration in my kitchen secondary to what was found to be a poorly built front balcony entrance. According to the inspector that my condo association hired, the front balcony was poorly built as it caused water to settle on the sides rather than drain to the front of the building. As a temporary solution, we applied caulking to the sides of the balcony to prevent water from leaking into my apartment but according to the inspector the balcony needs to be levelled so that the water can drain in the appropriate direction. I would also like an estimate for the cost to close the walls in my unit. I can send pictures of the damage upon request.
Thank you.
a) Original building is 38ft X 40 Ft. basement , street level and one floor.
b) 12ft was added to the 38ft which became part of the building. The bottom became part of the place and the top became 50% part of the apartment and 50% balcony.
c) Now we need to to tear the top part of the extension and rebuild the same by closing the balcony with glass and building a terrace on the top and come out by another 4 feet.
d) The additional 4 feet will be steel square beams and I beams. All the addition will be bricked .
e) I have the architectural drawing done and the structure engineering drawing and the permit from the city.
f) The additional foundation with columns just above the ground of 6 to 8 inches is already done and ready.
I am looking to purchase a shoebox home (25x44') and there are a couple of questionable places in the building re: structural support. There is a ~6' unfinished concrete basement and a few of the joists/beams are affected by dry rot and another area is inadequately supported for the weight it is carrying and is sagging a fair amount. This is visible on the first floor as the floor dips through the centre of the home. The sagging seems to be mostly on the short span of the home (25')
I would like to reinforce the unsupported areas and to jack up/support the areas affected by sagging and require a ballpark quote to address this.
Excavation, interior and exterior work of concrete breaking and applying, building a garage, solarium remodeling and insulation, plan are ready by the owner to be approved and permitted.
Front porch building and covering the metal staircase with solarium type roofing. Erecting a surrounding low wall with fencing for the garden.
It has to be seeing at the site and discussed with the owner to clarify the things to be done
Add a wall 9' wide x 9.5' high
On this wall add 2 electrical plugs in the living room
On this wall add a Wardrobe 5' x 2' and 2 doors with no moldings
Install a barn door in the new room
Build a wall 5'x7' to close an opening which was intended for a wardrobe
Reposition light and add another
Add 2 electrical plugs on this wall under the 2 lights.
Make an opening in the opposite wall to create a new wardrobe in the adjacent room
Install a wardrobe door on the newly created wardrobe
Repair floorboards where wall was removed (floorboards are available)
Install 2 wifi switches in the 2 bedrooms
I have a duplex in Montreal and would like to receive an estimate for the following work: 1: rebuilding the “shed” that covers what would otherwise be the 2nd floor balcony in the back. This may also involve redoing/repairing part of the roof as we have had water infiltration - possibly due to an ice dam. 2) waterproofing the foundation of the extension in the back of the house, and possibly adding a French drain, 3) redoing the exit from the basement up to the back yard (removing and redoing cement, fitting a new door and frame. Eventually I also need to repoint the brick of the shared wall and redo my deck and fire escape stairs.
We have to remove cinderblock and wood from our second floor duplex exterior walls and replace with 2x6 insulated exterior wall. Siding to be retained if possible. Building is 35x26 ft. The roof will need to be supported with a temporary wall while removing and waste management of the cinder blocks and wood will require a bin possibly netting to protect the neighbours house on the left side.
Previous owners built an extra room by adding four non load bearing walls. I wish to remove these walls and restore the area to how it used to be. Some electrical wires were passed into the new walls to move an existing light switch.
Details about added walls:
All walls are about 9 feet tall.
Wall 1 is 31" long and has a hole in the top for a fan.
Wall 2 is 77" long and has an glass pain in the middle of it.
Wall 3 is 92" long and has a sliding door in it.
Wall 4 is 34" long and has one set of light switches in it.
Removing a weight-bearing wall in rdc level of a duplex in the Rosemont area of Montreal. The unit has a finished basement which seems to also requires some structural modifications.
We already have plans from an accredited structural engineer. We have not yet requested the building permit from the city.
We are the property owners, do not live in Montreal--we live in the Seattle area in U.S.-- but visit Montreal regularly. In the near future, we will be in Montreal from Dec. 13, '17 to Jan. 9th, '18.
If you are interested in our project please respond before Dec. 9th.
Thank you,
Renee
