I have had a new roof two years ago(in 2009). in winter it leaks from ceiling in 4 or 5 places, but not in summer.
The roofer came did test on the roof that proofed the water is not from the roof. I so changed all the insulation but unfortunately it still leak.
I want to change all the vent to try if it works. I have 3 apartment in the in the triplex.
Bonjour,
Ma cuisine a besoin d'un access pour installer une hotte. Il faut crer une trou en traversant la mur brique. Nous sommes au deuxième tage. Merci!
Hi - I am installing a new range hood.
My kitchen needs a range hood. A hole drilled through the brink wall to lay new duct work (less than 6 feet) must be installed between the ceiling and floor above.
I have a chimney that used to be used for venting an old gas furnace but now it will be used for venting a kitchen range hood and 1 1/2" plumbing stack.
It is framed with wood already so it just needs flashing, and the vent cover and to be sealed properly.
It is ideal that vent cover prevents interaction between the plumbing vent and kitchen vent (they were both run up through the old chimney).

I have an oil furnace but it is dual system which usually works on electricity. The oil only kicks in when it gets to -12C. I have always had to heat the house to 73 to keep it warm but lately it is still cold on the top floor. It only gets to 70 when the hallway where the thermostat is gets to 74.
I would like to have someone come in and tell me why it is so cold upstairs. I just had the ceiling drilled and a company came in and added insulation. It has not made a difference. I need an explanation that works.
Have 2 bedrooms where there are problems with the ventilation ducts. No air felt coming through. They are not returns. Stuck my hand down one of them and felt a disconnect at the joint. Need to fix it urgently.
Will ask for consult on gas furnace at the same time.

HVAC specialists only, please.
I have just received acceptance on my offer to purchase a (barely touched) 1940s shoebox home in the south west.
It currently only has central oil heating. I’m looking to install a heat pump to carry most of the climate control load and to keep the oil on until it reaches its end of life, possibly switching it out for an electric furnace when it comes time.
The building itself is about 900sqft, with a 6’ unfinished basement. I’d be looking for a mid-high efficiency air to air heat pump that can work in tandem with a furnace when it’s super cold out.
The furnace will likely also need a once over and a tune-up to be ready for this winter.
Will be updating the electrical service (100A) in the near future to be able to carry the load, so the timeline for this project is sometime after that.
Hi. We need our AC unit to be repaired properly, currently its working but the air flow is not very good in some places. We are tired of getting people to come and try to fix this, so we need someone professional who has RBQ licence and also knows this unit A-Z. We can not be wasting money on estimations so please if you know this system come check it and give us free estimation and we can get this fixed form you if you can fix this for once and all.
Floor vents are presently quite large and will end up being in the center of some rooms. Approximately three vents need to be moved to the extremity of the room.
They will be moved about 7 feet each.
The basement is unfinished so it is easy to access the vents from there.
How much should this cost?

I just bought an old house that has an ancient oil boiler. I want to remove it and install a new electric one. Ideally, I think I want to keep all the water pipes and radiators, just use a new electric boiler for the water instead of the oil. I don't really want to get into installing ducts etc. for a central air system. If you think this is the wrong approach, I guess I'm willing to consider just installing baseboard heaters throughout the house.
Please quote on removing the old boiler and oil tank from the basement, and fully installing a new electric system for heating the water for the radiators.
I also need to replace the hot water heater - is it worth trying to combine them both into one unit?
I would like to separate the common heating system in our duplex. Currently heating is hot water fed via electrical system to two units. Would like to separate into separate electrical baseboard heating on 2nd floor. Each unit has separate electrical entrance 200A. Please quote price of removing hotwater heaters, installing basebaord heaters and running electrical wiring to approximately 5 rooms plus bathroom.
In split level house ( +/- 1600 s.f.) there is a dual energy heating/cooling air duct -forced oil furnace and 3t / 42000 BTU existing thermopump, in semi basement.
- To replace the existing installation of thermopump it with new high energy efficient thermopump 15 Seer AND especially high efficient "HEATING capacity" with defrost on demand.
