I need to get my basement bathroom vent by adding an exaust fan. My house was made in 1981 - i believe it would be possible to have it added on the ceiling and taking it out the side of the house rather than through the roof - i wanted to know the estimated cost behind this - if any contractor can please help me with this
Thank You
Approx 600 square ft of basement. Needs bracing, it is cinder block with concrete floor. We have engineers papers. House built in late 50s, early 60s. Wanting complete reno with 3/4 bath, large open living space & laundry room with built in shelving. Want water proof bathroom with dura ceramic floor. Burbur carpeting for living area, foam spray insulation. Want gyprock ceilings. Want new plumbing. Want porch & stairs leading to basement updated. Want to begin in fall. Owner request contractor submit liscence, insurance & reviews. Contractor to obtain building permit.
960 sqft bungalow in Regent Park built in 1961 flooded this spring. A fully finished basement was demolished and is currently prepped for steel bracing due to major cracking resulting in drywall damage throughout. Would like to develop the basement with a floor plan in mind. Would like to convert to a 3 bedroom on main floor with the additional of a bedroom off back of main level. 3rd bedroom previously removed in renovation and converted into large master bedroom with ensuite. Would like to put that wall back in and redesign the ensuite and extend off the back of house for large master bedroom.
We are currently looking for an RTM home of about 1600-2000 sq feet. We would need the basement excavated, and possibly finished.
We would probably want 2 or 3 bedrooms in the basement plus a large cold storage room, living room, bathroom and another storage room.
I am just looking for 2 prices,
1. basement excavated and left unfinished
2.completely finished
I know these are just rough estimates, so any amounts will be helful.
Thanks
Lise
I own a six year old, two-story home with an unfinished basement. The walls are insulated and drainage plumbed, but nothing else is done. I am looking for the basement to be finished to the same or better specifications to the rest of the house. The area that requires finishing is approximately 700 sq feet, and will include:
1. A rectangular entertainment area (approx. 400 sq. ft.). Flooring: carpet and underlay. Walls: drywall with built-in speakers and a couple of display alcoves. Ceiling: drop ceiling. Lighting: Pot lights on dimmer switches with possible accent lighting.
2. A bar area will be built beside the main entertainment area (approx. 60 sq. ft.). Flooring: tile. Walls: drywall with shelving and accent lighting. Ceiling: drop ceiling. Lighting: Undetermined - will seek advice from the successful contractor. Cabinets: an L-shaped bar approximately 5' long on each side plus a counter with sink along the back wall.
3. Off of the entertainment area is a bathroom (approx. 80 sq. ft). Flooring: tile Walls: greenboard Ceiling: drop ceiling Lighting: Pot lights on dimmer switches with possible accent lighting. Shower: tile shower with glass door. No bathtub. Cabinet: uncertain - possibly a countertop that includes the same tile as the shower area.
4. There will be a storage area as well that does not need to be finished. This will house shelving as well as the furnace, water heater, and air exchange units.
Although we have a vision for the space, we are open to discussing options for improvement with the successful contractor.
I would like surround sound wired into ceiling, then drop ceiling installed, laundry room framed and dry-walled (outside only, not going to bother completing the inside of laundry room), bathroom framed, and dry-walled and electrical completed (already plumbed in). House is 955sq ft bi-level, built in 2012, located in the Landings (Harbour Landing)
The basement of our 35 yr old home was flooded this spring and therefore gutted from the flooring + 2 ft up on the drywall and sanitized.
Before we get our new drywall done and flooring we are looking for a contractor to supply quotes on how much it would cost to level a basement floor that has heaved and become "not level".
I have read about using levelling solutions such as thin-set but would really like to have a expert come in and have it done.
We have around 1000 sq ft in the basement but we have a different solution for 2 of the rooms. (laundry and storage room) but need the rest levelled before we start tackling flooring and more.
Some quotes and starting dates would what we require and are able to have it started anytime.
Thanks
Hi,
I'm looking to have some work done in my basement and wondered if it is the kind of work that you do. I don't think the work is very complicated, but I don't have time to do it.
In my basement, I want to remove an old wet bar, change the suspended ceiling, repaint all the rooms (main room, bedroom and a bathroom) and change all the doors, baseboards and trim.
Other than fixing up where the old bar meets the wall, there isn't any real renovations that need to be done (although the walls need a lot of touch up mud from years of kids banging them up). I plan to handle the removal of the old bar, doors, trim and ceiling myself, and have the carpet changed after everything is done but prior to putting the new doors in and trim on.
What I'm looking for help with is:
- fix the wall where the existing bar is attached;
- spot mud walls in all rooms (main, bedroom, bath) as needed to prepare for paint;
- repaint all three rooms;
- install new suspended ceiling in all rooms;
- install new doors (3 doors plus 1 set of bi-fold close doors) and trim;
- install new baseboards in all three rooms.
Please let me know if you are interested. Thanks,
James

My husband and I have a revenue property in Regina. We would like to look into adding a basement suite. The home is a 2 up 2 down bungalow, 850 sq. ft. The basement has a 2 piece bath, 2 bedrooms and a rec. room. There is a separate side entrance. I am wondering if anyone can give a very general quote for a basement suite. So we would need to add a shower in the bathroom, a kitchen, fireproofing, possibly larger windows, etc.
Thanks.
Andrea
Not sure on the exact size of the bathroom. The room is approx 7x9 I think. It needs to be completely gutted and have all new fixtures installed. New toilet, new tub with surround and new sink. Plus new cabinets and counter top. Also there has been a fair amount of leaking from the top of the main stack so I'm sure some or all of the subfloor would need to be replaced as well.
Recently had sewer backup in the basement. Need someone to reno bathroom, repair drywall, install trim/baseboard. Also need new lino floor and base cabinets in kitchen installed (have the cabinets but need sink and dishwasher installed, and would like one or two additional electrical outlets in kitchen.
Basement bathroom we are having the wall braced and then will need new drywall.
The shower will need to be tiled and made a little smaller and the bottom portion of the second wall will need new drywall as it has been water damaged.
Also need a fan installed, the vanity and flooring are good for now.
Need to expand bedroom 4.5 feet, which will allow addition of a 4 x 5 shower, a walk in closet, and 4 feet more lenght in the master bedroom. The bedroom would need electrical pot lights in bedroom, shower and walk in closet. A new window would be needed, pilings under extension and probably a gable on the roof to allow for proper extension of 4.5 feet. Insulation in 4 by 20 foot space as well as reroute the furnace rad in bathroom.
Could you give an approximate cost for this kind of extension of about 80 sq. feet
Thanks
My husband and are I moving into a new house (new for us as it is a 1946 wartime house - Regina, SK) with a possession date of September 30, 2012. There are currently two rooms on the main floor and we want to look into the option of making the two into one master bedroom. We would like to see if it is possible to add a bathroom (shower, double sink and enclosed toilet) as well as possible closet space. We would like a professional to advise if a bathroom is possible and a recommend a room layout. The hardwood floors that exist are in great condition but open to the idea of new floors in the bedroom area. We ideally would like to not have to do any work ourselves including tiling, and painting. We will be putting our existing house on the market next weekend (September 8) and ideally will provide possesion at the end of October. Therefore, it would provide the entire month of October to complete the rennovation. Any assistance/expertise would be appreciated as we have always done our own renovations in the past.
Thank you!
The house is located in Hillsdale Regina. We wish to convert a carport that is currently attached to the house into a single car garage. The current roof is part of the house roof and is supported on two beams supported by 3 steel posts on piles. There is not currently enough clearance for a garage door. The existing low slope roof needs to be cutoff (about 6 feet), then reconstructed and extended on a new slope to allow for a garage door installation. The finished dimension will be 22' x12 feet. The current two and half outside walls would need to be constructed. The walls would be non load bearing (as the roof is currently self supporting). The slab is aggregate concrete approx 6" thick and in perfect condition. The slab does have a small variable slope 1 to 3 degrees.
Skills needed. Roofing Design and construction, framing, garage door installation electrical (the existing cp has wiring in place.
Electrical - would like a separate estimate for adding EV charging.
House is currently listed. We are the property owners.
Size: 30'x20' Concrete floor
Building Size: 30x14, 2 rooms - 10' x 8'
3 Entrance Doors, 3 windows
NO PLUMBING, NO ELECTRICAL,
Interior Insulated, drywalled
Exterior - Metal Siding, Metal Roof
Summer structure only
Quote needed for start to finish. Start date : sometime this year.
Prompt response appreciated.
I am an MBA student that is working on a business plan. The plan is for a business that is looking to expand. As part of this plan, I need a quote for renovating a rented space (we would be the tenants) to have 6 offices and one large production studio.
The studio requires a "green screen" which means a wall needs to paint with special green paint.
The square footage of the space is 3553. A document is attached that will show you the layout. We would be renting unit #130. We would like the offices to be approximately 10x10. We would also like there to be a reception type area.
2012 house with untouched basement. Needs framing, insulation, walls built, a 3 piece bathroom (whatever size it takes to complete) and walls built around the furnace room. Also need approximate 4 foot wall built with door for storage area and door for furnace room. House is a 1800 sq.ft 2 storey. Excited to complete house so need quote asap please!
Architectural and engineering plans completed. Job includes 400 ft extension and new floor plan for existing 900 sq ft. Basement will not be extended. Existing single attached garage needs new grade beam & slab. Some existing hardwood to remain, but also new hardwood and tile, all new windows, new kitchen, new master bath, and relocated main bathroom.
