It appears I have ice dam over my kitchen window due to excessive moisture in the attic which I will need fixed as well (I believe it to be the bathroom vent leaking). I will need the ice damn in the kitchen addressed as it is melting and leaking into my kitchen behind the socket in the photo. I have disconnected the electrical. I have an idea on what it would take but I can't tackle it right now. No calls or text after 9:30 please.
We are an industrial electrical company in the North End. We have a large shop on our first floor that we would like to build a mezannine (spelling?!) and expand our second floor office space over the existing shop area. - we are only looking at quotes at this time. The lowest estimate may not necessarily be the chosen contractor. Please contact to make an appointment to come and inspect the area to provide a quote.
We have a four level spilt house built in 1979. We are looking at a main level reno consisting of kitchen, front entrance, sunken living room. We would like new flooring, paint, casing/mouldings and lighting through out. The kitchen layout currently has a wall between the living room and kitchen would like to semi open up, new kitchen cabinets and counter tops.
Also we want to remodel the ensuite bathroom, replacing flooring from carpet to tile, new vanity, toilet and paint.
1950s Bungalow about 1,140 sqft
Kitchen (9X 11.2)
We're looking to renovate the kitchen so it'll have a more updated look and a better layout. We'd also like to see if we're structurally able to tear down a wall and implement an open concept kitchen.
All rooms and basement.
We'd like to have all the old wallpaper torn down, redo the ceilings from textured to flat, and have all the rooms and basement repainted.

Hi ,
We would like to remove the carpet of the bedrooms (2 bedrooms) and the livingroom and replace them by new carpet for the bedrooms and the hardwood floor for the livingroom floor. We want to know the estimate for these changes.
We also want to renove the kitchen floor and a part of the kitchen walls (around the kitchen cabinets) and replace them by the ceramic type and also changing the kitchen counter cover and replace it by something like marber or something not real marber. So how much will be?
Thanks

We are looking at knocking a wall out in our condo that we just purchased. We don't at the moment know if the wall is structural or not so we would firstly need someone to take a look at the wall to let us know if it could be knocked out. If it is possible to knock it out we would like it done as soon as possible. It isn't a very big wall so it wouldn't be a large amount of work. Our condo was built in 1987 and is 1050 sq ft on the first floor (raised). I do not believe that any previous renovations have been done. If you could get back to me with a possible quote even for just looking at the wall to see if it can be taken down and then if it can what it may cost to knock it out that would be great. Thanks very much.
I want to put a basement suite in my brand new house to earn income from it. I have applied for a permit and priced materials to do the work myself. Ideally I'd rather have someone else do it to save time, but that will depend on price of course. So I am getting a few quotes to see how much I would save by doing it myself.
Financing is already in place with much more than will be needed for the project, but of course price will be a determining factor on whether I will do the work myself or have someone come in to do it.
A basic layout design was done by the builder and I would like to use it.
The house is a 1020 sq foot bi-level in Evergreen. Currently, the basement has plumbing roughed in for a suite, but that is it. There is only one electrical panel, so another will need to be added. The plan for the suite is 594 sq feet with the rest being part of the main dwelling, which I would also like to be finished with just a bedroom and utility room.
The suite will be tied in to the 60 gallon water heater currently in the house. I was planning on using baseboard heaters as there is not much space for an additional furnace.
As for the bathroom, it doesn't need to be anything fancy, just a basic tub surround with shower head, basic toilet, and basic sink/cabinet. The kitchen appliances I can arrange myself, or you can do it with middle of the road appliances. Kitchen cabinets can be basic pre-built stock cabinets, nothing fancy. The suite laundry is planned for a stackable unit in the bathroom.
Any other information you need, please give me a call. I would appreciate a fairly quick turn-around on the quote if possible.

We have a 1950's house with an addition put on in the 80's. We are in the process of completely renovating the master bedroom, including the ensuite and walk in closet. After replacing an old patio door with a window, we realized we just don't have the time or the required skill to do it ourselves. In an effort to save money we are willing to undertake some of the work ourselves, and have already gutted the entire bathroom which has some moisture issues. I have already purchased all of the replacement fixtures, but not any of the lumber, wiring, plumbing, drywall, etc. We started this project almost 2 months ago, and are tired of waiting for the contractor we hired who has yet to make an appearance. The scope of the work is such:
1- remove and replace interior wall about 6" to accomodate new tub in bathroom and install 2 pocket doors for the bathroom and closet. (already purchased kits)
2- repairing and refinishing ceiling ( we have removed all of the stipple)
3- Closet - move light fixture to adjacent wall. Replace some drywall.
4- Bedroom - install 2 new windows (24x48). move light fixture from wall into ceiling. replace bedroom door. replace some drywall, insulation and vapour barrier (under windows)
5- Bathroom - think gutted room. We did discover a moisture problem under the window (to be replaced) which will require some of the exterior studs (2x6) and sheeting to be replaced. (we are not currently concerned with the finishing on the exterior of the house as we will be replacing the siding in the near future) There was also significant water damage around the toilet which will require attention. Mold was discovered behind the tub surround, most of which was removed with the drywall. Plumbing will need to be moved from the old jet tub, to accomodate a modern, freestanding tub, as well for a slightly larger vanity. Insulation and vapour barrier to be replaced on two walls, drywall on all four and ceiling.
We intend to handle paint, flooring and trim ourselves, as well as the closet system. I can only provide approximate measurements off the top of my head. The bedroom is about 14' x 14', the closet about 6'x4' and the bathroom about 6'x6'. We are really eager to to complete this project, and reliability is a must! This is only the first step in a massive renovation. We recently purchased the home and intend to renovate the entire home over time. We are hoping to find a reliable person to help us along the way, and have broken down the projects into phases in an attempt to remain living the house during the renovations.
Looking for estimate for individual reno's to large scale reno.
1) basement reno. Half of basement is finished, looking to develop other half. (main drainage pipe goes out side of foundation in stead of below) looking for possible bed room, bathroom, laundry area and storage. Widing of door way as well. Possible new window. Previous owner attempted some development, need to alter.
2) upstairs, if second bathroom is possible, either by going through master bathroom closet, or reducing size of current bathroom to make two.
3) chimney, needs new mortar, option to remove chimney and fix roof and flooring where chimney was located.
4) check foundation on north side of home cracking. Looks to be a layer of cement over original foundation, can't tell.
5) new insulation in attic
6) new entry place for main attic.
7) new windows and doors.
8) garage renovation, old garage that has extensive water damage. Possible mold and asbestos removal. May need some new framing and needs new roof as it leaks.
Looking for possibly estimates for possible work in 6-12 months. Work and budget will depend on estimates. Older home, 1940, with add on in 1950's and 1970's.
Our new home is 2070 sq.ft. on 2 levels. We take possession on May 15th and have about 1 month before we move in and would like most of reno's completed in that time. The house is 20 years old and has not been renovated since build. It mostly needs cosmetic fix ups - but alot of them.
* Entire interior repainted * current flooring removed and replaced with engineered hardwood (on 2 levels) , tile in entrance & baths (3 including master), carpeting in basement * new kitchen cupboards, island and countertops * replace sliding door in diningroom with new french doors and window above to match front entrance * remove bathtub in main bathroom and replace with walk in shower, replace vanity and light fixtures * fireplace installation (I believe there is a stack, and needs some reno-ing to make functional * new shingles, possibly eaves.
Current owner has agreed to allow viewing of home at her discretion.
We have 2 headers we would like to reduce in size if possible. They run through the kitchen and living room. They reduce the head room in the areas by about 15". As well as opposed to sitting on one post they sit on 2 so the center support beam takes up roughly 14x8" of floor space.
We are looking to see if we can reduce the size of the beams or hide them in the attc?
Hello, we just moved into a new condo and have removed the old decommissioned fireplace that was there. We are looking for someone to come in and do the following.
1) cut and cap the remaining chimney (inside)
2) frame/drywall around a heating pipe and the old fire place location
3) install some pot lights and shelves.
4) drywall hole in the ceiling.
Fire place has already been removed and everything just needs to be patched and finished.

1. One 10x5 foot wall and approx. 10x5 foot subfloor water damaged and needs replacing - including insulation and water barrier. Some rotted wood around window needs replacing, too. Would like to start with this. 2. There was a wall/door built around the furnace and water boiler, would like to discuss knocking this down and replacing with partial wall. Depending on cost, can do this all at one time or two stages. Need first repair done by end of October. Thank you for your estimate!
