Found mold in the closet ceiling and moisture on inside of the external wall (NW).
Home is built in 1979.
Have had damp walls along the inside of another closet opposite side of the house.
Would like somebody to find the source of the problem and not just fix the mold problem.

I have a house built in the 70's. Lately I noticed mold going on my ceiling. I have gone to my insurance who advised they do not cover mold. I live in a bungalow that the roof has not been vented properly and as a result the snow from this winter has leaked into my attic, and now in the front and back of my house shows damage. I do not have the square footage but I live the Marlborough Park area. I have been told that the walls and ceiling will need to be replaced for sure.
We have a small spot of mold on the ceiling in an upstairs bedroom. When we first moved in 4 yrs ago there was a stain at that spot but no mold. At that time I looked into the attic but couldn't see any apparent signs of leakage (not that that means much€) The spot doesn't appear to have grown in size any, but there is now some mold appearing. Would it be possible to get an estimate on making the spot €œgo away€?
We recently purchase this home. It appears that the back deck is either not correctly sloped or incorrectly sealed against the house. Water has entered under the deck, behind the vinyl siding into the house and has destoryed the strand plywood siding to the point that the plywood is soft. There is black either mold or mildew on the 2x4 wall support and floor joists. We require the replacement of all wood infected by the black substaince and the re sealing of the house from the water entering.
