Handyman

I would steer clear away from this guy...he is a con artist. Every single time he came over (which was a total of 3 visits I believe) he would arrive minimum 1 hour late. Due to being late he would not finish the job he was scheduled to do so it would be layed over to the next visit but then he would charge me extra claiming that it took longer than expected. He also would not schedule an appointment unless I paid in advance by e-transfer...so I would be stuck with him cause he had my money. The only job he did right was the installation of a cabinet in the laundry room. The frames took him way longer than necessary and he scratched my wood floor from assembling the corner table unit which he did not take responsibility for. I gave him simple wired shelving to install in a closet and he had no idea how to install them claiming I had purchased the wrong material. When I hired anther handyman to finish the job, those wired shelves were up in 20 minutes.

At his last visit, he wanted more money from me and I told him that I would not pay in advance since he already still had $100 to install a shelf in my son's room and that should be enough for him to come back. He got really angry and left the house swearing...thank God my adult son was there with me or else I would have been quite scared to be with this crazy individual...he has a bad temper.

He later texted me that he would no longer come back to finish the job and that he was going tom keep the $100...so he basically stole money from me.

And by the way, after that incident, I checked on his website and he changed the phone number and his last name.

Sloppy painting. He didn't take the time to cover up corners, ceilings, etc. Painted over electicrical socket, wallpaper, curtain, clothes (when painting closet doors). He did 4 coats of white on top of white. He blamed the walls, and didn't agree that he used 3 different colours of white. Paint drips are obvious everywhere. He painted at night because he was always late. Plastering was even worse. He didnt sand enough. Now electrical socket won`t close properly because it was so bumpy. Too chatty. He's more focused on getting his money and finding himself more work, than actually doing the work.

After a bizarre series of inappropriate texts I did not feel safe working with this company. When I cancelled the contract I was not refunded my money although I was told I gave it in good faith. Half the money upfront for zero work done.
