Hi, I'm probably out of luck but hoping to get knowledgable opinions about what I think is bad work (and overpriced) on window installations and siding repair. The job just finished so haven't paid yet. 1. Had 3 Viwinco Edgemont, low-e glass windows installed: 1 basement hopper 32" and 2 attic 24" x 24". No framing done and lots of foam was used around the windows. (Now I'm reading that the manufacturer recommends regular batting insulation instead of foam.) He's charging $590. per window. Not to mention the basement window is crooked. The depth on one side is 2" and 2 3/4" on the other side.
Also, the same contractor agreed to repair siding. The contract says "paint first and then install" but they did it the other way around and didn't match the paint. They just used some leftover original paint. He didn't replace the metal corners that are missing. I would think that should be included in repairing siding. Now I'm wondering if they even used flashing under the siding but don't know how to check that out. Attached are a few photos to give an idea. Opinions on the work, price, and/or advice on how to handle this situation are appreciated. Central NY location. A few sample photos attached.
You should post the quote as well to make sense of this
Hi, Thanks for the reply. In addition to the quote, also attached are notes referring to the jobs listed, and a couple pics as well. I wasn't able to upload any files other than jpeg so hope reading them isn't a problem.
Proposal again. Didn't upload the first time
