Cost for back stairs

How much should be charged for back stairs - 1 set going down to back and 1 set going to the front. I feel he charge me too much. 1,300 plus 554.00 for supplies. They started work arround 9:00 am, finish arround 4:30. Railing unstable, not level.

Hi Mary, confusing questions. Did he just show up and build you some stairs and then give you a bill? Was there some sort of discussion before hand or anything in writing. Was it 2 steps in the back and 3 in the front or 8 in the front and 12 in the back? Did he come with pre cut stringers or do them in your driveway? Have you paid them yet? It really sounds like you have sticker shock.

Price not out of line at all but you should be satisfied with the work.There is no excuse for poor workmanship certainly for stairs as they will be subject to a great deal of wear and tear.If you have paid in full it may be difficult to get them back to make adjustments. Best of luck.
