I have 13 carpeted stairs.

Rise - 6" 1/2

Run depth - 9"

Width is 40

Both sides are closed in, It seems like a fairly simple job. I have wood stair kits made of oak

What price range would I be looking at if all the contractor had to do was install and stain all 13 without having to remove the carpet and all materials supplied by me.

Good evening,

The approximate cost of a job like this will likely be around the 1500 price range. to do this job properly you will need 2 coats of stain and ideally 2-3 coats of urethane with an approximate installation time of a day (best to install them with a 18/16 guage brad nailer with PL premium used for construction adhesive.

If all materials plus PL glow provide by you and the installer only use the brad nail(16g or 18) of his own, the price for each one is : $50 which times by 13

Total will be around $650 or max goes up to $700 (professionally installed).

Good luck.
