Hi,
I was hoping for some tips regarding closing a gap between one of the stairs stringer and adjacent wall.
Both stringer and wall seem to be a bit curved at pretty much the same spot. It's a 6.5 foot stringer that starts at about .5 inch gap from the drywall but the gap grows to around 2 inches towards the middle of the stringer.
If the gap was even along the entire run I could have closed it with a finishing strip, but I have no idea what to do in my case.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you
Hi Michael,
The gap grows to 2" in height when looking from the side of the stringer or width when looking down on the gap?(space from the edge of the stringer to the drywall)
If gap is a height issue install baseboards and shoe moulding.
If the gap is a width issue, fill in the gap with drywall compound and feather out. Continue filling in multiple coats until gap width is small enough to be covered by baseboard and shoe moulding or just shoe moulding.
Cheers
Dave
