How much for a major fencing project?

Hi,

I am looking for a ballpark on how much it would cost to teardown the existing fence, and replace it. We are not looking to do it just yet, but need an idea of how much it is going to cost so we can budget for it.

They are typically relatively small backyards, two 8 foot sections of fence on either side coming out from the house (6ft high) - the teardown would include the backyard currently being closed off as well (approx. 24 feet across).

How much for the teardown of all the fencing and replacing of only the two 8 foot sections on either side of the backyards?

How much more to close off the backyards (appx 24ft across) with a gate?

The job would involve 87 townhouses - not all backyards are exactly the same, and not all are currently closed off - just need a ballpark price based on a typical backyard.

Thanks

6' high new fence will cost an average of $30-$35 per lineal for including materials. The tear down would cost around $400-$500 per unit inclusion disposal. so with 24' at the back and 8' and the side of each unit the new fence would cost around $1000.00 per unit so you are looking at around $1500.00 per unit including tear down and install of new fence. Total cost: 87 x $1500.00 = $130,500.00 + GST.

Going rate is about $30-$40 per linear foot but considering wholesale of 87 units... it's gonna be around $1100-1200 per unit all I'm with materials and disposal.

We charge per unit with material new fence and tear down and junk removal $1150 per unit for 24 across and 8' each side with gate so your Total:87x$1,150+tax=$113,065.

So we are getting closer to the point where we will actually be posting for quotes.

Two things I would like to add though before we do.

How much more to use 6x6 instead of 4x4 posts. And are you already including the cost of removing the current concrete and for setting the new concrete for the posts?

When I post the quote I am going to be as detailed as possible with the actual current linear foot to remove, and the new amount of linear fence to install - anything else I should be including to get as accurate as possible of a quote?

Hello,

We charge 35$ per ft for pressure treated lumber. Since this is a big project we will include 6x6 posts in this price for a standard fence. If you need a regular gate without decorative insert it will cost 150$ for 48 inch gate. Removal of jun 600$ per unit including the removal of old concrete footings. IF you are looking for cedar fencing it will cost 56 $ per linear foot.
