Typically by the square foot. There are a lot of variables to the price, being every job is unique. And different requirements of drywall thickness, r-value required etc.

Decide how much it's going to cost u labour wise to pay yourself and your employees, depending on the job involved there could major differences depending on what the square footage has involved within it ,such as a several outlets or pot lights or a concave/vaulted ceiling or an electrical room, alot of these areas will require more work and time involved so will cost more than the average price per say a 12ft straight wall or hallway, Measure the job appropriately and determine the amount of drywall needed, the same square footage will be your poly and insulation. Bill seperate but on the same invoice and make it clear how u came to your qoute on paper, ask the customer if they have any questions, then thank them for considering your business. regardless if they choose u or like your price they won't be able to say any bad things about u as a person because you were honest and respectfull and did things correct.

Here are some steps you can take to estimate the cost of installing drywall and insulation/vapor barrier:

Determine the square footage of the area that needs to be covered with drywall and insulated.

Research and compare installation costs in your area. You can do this by obtaining quotes from multiple contractors or installers, checking online resources, or consulting with local building supply stores.

Calculate the cost of drywall and insulation/vapor barrier materials, as described in the previous answer.

Multiply the square footage by the installation cost per square foot to get the overall labor cost for the project.

Add the material cost to the labor cost to get the total project cost.

It's important to note that labor costs can vary greatly depending on the level of expertise required, the complexity of the project, and the location of the project. In addition, there may be additional costs for things like permits and inspections, waste disposal, and other miscellaneous expenses. Be sure to factor these costs into your estimate as well.

Overall, the cost of installing drywall and insulation/vapor barrier will depend on a variety of factors and can vary greatly. It's always a good idea to obtain multiple quotes and compare prices from several sources before making a final decision.

The cost of installing a vapor barrier, drywall, and insulation for a 1000 square foot area can vary greatly depending on several factors, such as the location of the project, the quality of materials used, and the expertise of the contractor or installer. However, as a rough estimate, the total cost could range from $3,000 to $7,000 or more, depending on these factors.

To get a more accurate estimate, you would need to obtain quotes from multiple contractors or installers in your area. Factors that could affect the cost include the type and quality of materials used, the level of expertise required for the installation, and any additional costs such as permits and inspections.

It's important to note that the cost of materials and labor can vary greatly depending on the specific needs of your project. For example, if there are any unique challenges or requirements, such as working around existing wiring or plumbing, this could increase the overall cost of the project.

Overall, it's important to do your research and obtain multiple quotes to ensure that you are getting a fair price for the installation of a vapor barrier, drywall, and insulation for your project.

Good luck

Min. rates on drywall/install/tape is from $3.75 sq/ft wall area...insulation/vapor barrier depends on many factors (joist pockets, r-value etc, etc). Expect from $1-$2 sq/ft wall area min. on install + cost of all materials.
