Prep For Metal Posts For a Chain Link Fence

I've had a huge dog run done in the Stouffville area with just "pounded" in posts. I was told that there would be less chance of frost heaving them up. It was a solid run, and seemed to work well, except for the larger gate - it did sag a bit, but the water table was higher there as well..

Here in London, Ont, I've been told that a cement base is needed. And I don't want to have to pay anything more for this fence.
