I have a deck that needs to be repaired as we want to remove the top and replace it with composite. It is a 2 tier deck but we have already finished the upper deck and just require the bottom deck to be finished. I have purchased the materials already. The old boards need to be pulled up and the structure needs a few more joists added and then the deck boards laid. Is this something that you would consider giving me a quote on. The size of the deck is approx 175 sq ft. I have teh composite boards, skirting and anchors. I would require some lumber to add some joists to the existing structure.
I have an 8'x12' wooden shed that I intend to replace with a new 8'x10' vinyl shed. Existing fence ends at a corner (SW) of the shed and gate opens from corner of house (NE) in to side of shed. I would like to extend the fence the former length and width of the shed; a new gate, possibly double wide; and a small platform deck to replace pavers and extra space left due to smaller shed.
I have a giant hole in my yard where the past owners had a hot tub. We got rid of it but the hole is an eyesore. We are trying to figure out if it’s possible to put a flat deck to rest on top of the hole so we can put our patio furniture on top and just use the gap underneath for storage. We would also need a railing on one side since the hole is right next to our house and our basement door that opens inward. We want a very simple flat surface. We would remove the fence....hard to post a pic since it’s so awkward.

We are building a 400 square-foot rooftop deck over a new addition (20' X 20'). Also there is a cantilevered landing that is 4' wide x 5' 3" long. We want a good, durable roofing solution that will have a guarantee and be waterproof so as not to leak into the room below. Of course the roof plan is slightly sloped and engineered to hold the weight of a walk-on deck. Also i want a quote for railing options.
Hello. I am looking to build a 360 sf. interlock patio in my backyard and pour a concrete sidewalk from my front to backyard. As well as would like to resurface our front porch (concrete builders porch) with flagstone. Porch size is 12x6 with a couple steps down to concrete patio stones (area there is 6x8).
The actual budget for this project is $8,000.00.
Hello!
Hoping to learn what our options are for a new porch - rough costing and what this entails in terms of permits, time, etc. Open to any of your recommendations.
Also curious to hear any recommendations to make the place nicer in general. We're open to your creativity. We welcome short and long-term updates and have some budget to allocate for both.
I moved to the Burlington area into a townhouse I bought late last year. I would like to spruce up the backyard with a platform deck with the main part of the deck approximately 12-1/2' x 16' with an additional piece 7' x 9'. I would be happy with regular pressure treated materials but would be open to discuss other options providing they were a reasonable price. I own the condo townhouse.
Build new 10'x16' backyard deck, approx 6' off ground, in Brant Hills, Burlington. 6x6 posts, opaque wood side railings for privacy, deck planks at 45 degrees to house, all wood pressure treated Sienna coloured, new 5' sliding glass door leading out to deck. House construction wood with aluminum siding.
I'm looking to get a facelift on my pool deck. Right now I have tired looking old concrete around my pool and would like a change.
I am not quite sure which direction I want to go, whether I resurface what I have or tear it up and get interlock. I do know that I want something durable as I'm not planning on moving any time soon.
Wouldn't mind getting a few quotes and seeing what my options are.
There is an engineered block patio presently there which is heaved, block to be lifted and site levelled and prepped with new surface installed. I am looking for options for new surface as well as installation. I require a fairly quick turnaround as I have a gazebo that is to be delivered and will be placed in this area.
I have a newly fenced condo with a backyard patio in dire need of replacing. Currently, the backyard is a patio bordered by flowerbeds on the sides and back. The patio is a mix of ugly old full-size patio stones and 1 foot square patio stones. When the new fences were installed last June, the fence builders had a penchant for cutting tv cables which necessitated the replacement of all the cable in the complex. It was soon apparent that the cable installers were not landscapers - their goal was to bury the conduit and not re-level the patio stones. I would like the entire backyard to be all patio (approx 14 x 26 ft). The entrance to the backyard is through the garage. The front walkway is currently 5 full-size patio stones (not quite as ugly as the back but I'm sure equally as old) as well as 2 more patio stones to the left of the front step leading to the outdoor closet. The front step is hollow cement (approx 4 x 6 ft) which has started to crumble along the front facing.
I would like to replace the front walkway and step (or can the step be repaired?) with similar stones to those going in the back. As well, I'd like a small raised flowerbed in the front (approx 7 ft across) to match. Some of my neighbours have put wood decking over their front steps and also over their old patios in the back - I prefer patio stones/slabs. Condo rules do not allow poured cement - must be removable.
Time frame is flexible.
The project is to replace the existing interlocking patio around my existing inground pool (16X32) and along the back/side of my house. The total area is approximately 1,210 sq/ft. Included in this project would be placing 'river rock' along the back and down one side of the pool, in an area between the brick and the existing 6ft privacy fence. Due to the age of the existing patio/deck, the new patio should be brought up in height by roughly 3-4 inches in order to ensure proper drainage from the house/pool/property.
We are open to either concrete only, interlock only or a combination of both for this project.
Arrangements can be made in the evenings during the week (except for Tuesday/Thursday) and possibly on Saturdays, to meet directly and view the area under consideration in order to provide a detailed quote. We are looking for a quote that breaks down the various costs associated with the project - removal of existing patio, new pavers, aggregate, etc, etc, etc.
Thanks,
Carl
I'd like to replace an existing second level deck with a new one, approx. 250 square feet, not including the stairs with steel pickets and wood railings. The preferred material is white pressure treated wood. This is for a semidetached house with a walkout basement. I am the owner of the home.
I would be looking for design ideas as well.
Hi,
I have a very simple deck project. My wife and I are needing to replace the deck that came with our house as the wood is rotting out and old. The deck is currently about 10 ft x 14 ft wide (2 simple levels). If our budget allows for it, we would like to extend this deck out to 15 ft x 14 ft wide.
It also has a really old ugly metal awning that we are hoping to replace with a simple/cheap solution.
We do not have a very big budget as we are new homeowners. Please provide your estimate for the following options:
1. 10 ft x 14 ft wide with regular pressure treated wood
2. 10 ft x 14 ft wide with cedar
3. 15 ft x 14 ft wide with regular pressure treated wood
4. 15 ft x 14 ft. wide wide cedar
The upper level to my patio does not have proper drainage and is not slopping down and the stone under the supporting beam is crumbling. I only bought the house in September 2018 and the hard winter and all this snow brought it out sooner than later. My inspector said its currently acting like a trough collecting water.
thank you
