Looking for a knowledgeable insulation contractor to properly insulate the cold room under my front porch to make it usable to leave open year round for storage. It is about 8 feet wide. I think the insulation blanket on the side walls would be ok and something on the ceiling as well. No plans to finish the space as of yet just want it insulated. I would also like the rest of the basement checked out as it seems to be possibly missing some insulation and may or may not need to be addressed. This is a town house located in Burlington. Please provide a rough idea on price and your time frame for completing this small project. Thanks for taking the time!
The garage is located under the master bedroom
there is two parking space outside the garage
house built in 2001....the garage is 18 ft by 9 ft and 10 ft high...
We already have 2 cars parking space , I want to eliminate the garage and change it to a bedroom with full bath and also make sure is insulated and heater/aircondition is connected ( the house has a central air, electric air condition and gas heating). the garage door is abot 8 ft high and 8 ft wide need to be removed and replaced by glass door so the light can get in.....
I have a corner room on the first floor of my house, size 9 feet x 8 feet. It currently has a carpet installed over a concrete slab floor. I would like to have the carpet removed, install 2" thick insulation sheet and build a sub-floor for vinyl sheet flooring. The job should include - (1) removal of carpet/padding, (2) cleanup of concrete floor, (3) install polyethylene film, (4) install 4 x 4 pressure treated wood around the room and in the middle, (5) install 2" insulation sheets within the wood structure, (6) install a 0.75" sub-floor over the 4 x 4s. Vinyls sheets will be installed by the flooring company.
I am getting my breaker panel replaced. At the moment there is no insulation or air seal. I would like a carpenter to coordinate with the electrician (Guelph Solar) and then come in after the panel has been replaced to seal, insulate, and generally finish the area. Ideas to hide the panel in an enclosure are welcome, but not a requirement.
The basement is mostly finished, but there are a few places where the concrete is visible that I want insulated.
One of the walls under the stairs that needs insulation is also going to have a metal rack/shelf mounted to it. It will be quite heavy so should be anchored to the concrete behind it. I was going to complete this myself but lack a hammer drill and am not sure how best to leave a gap for insulation. Open to either free guidance on this or including the work in your estimate.
I am also getting a vent installed in a bathroom that will likely leave some drywall holes needing patches. This work can optionally be included in the estimate if interested.
Insulation and Animal Proofing Project
Looking for someone to work on a Heritage Home in downtown Burlington. Renovation project to animal proof and insulate the basement crawlspace. (there is no block or concrete foundation around a portion of the house)
The project involves:
- Trench and Screen: Installing wire mesh around approx 40' of the perimeter of the house to prevent animals from entering (exterior trenching / wire mesh installation). Before ground freezes.
- Insulating approx 1/2 of the crawl space (approx 2-3' high), accessed via a interior staircase into the furnace room at the centre of the basement. Method of insulation to be determined. Possibly spray foam.
- Minor interior patch/ground work if required prior to insulating
This could be handled as two projects if you are only interested in either the animal proofing or insulation project.
Hi, we just had mold removed from our two bedrooms. It was discovered minor and all is gone. The problem is the wall had poor insulation and very thin drywall.
Was hoping to get a quote on removing the two walls and upgrade insulation and install a vapour barrier.
Please post or message on how much it would be for materials and labor. We have kept the tarp wall up as we want this done ASAP.
Had some mice in the attic, as well as a squirrel. Have plugged the gaps, but there are paths in the insulation in the attic, and I'd like to have it removed and replaced. House is 2200 sq feet, 3bedroom, 2 story, home.
Just wondering if I can get a rough idea of what I'm going to be spending. No idea if this $500, $1,000, $2,000, $5,000 etc.
If I get get some rough prices to get me a sense, I'd then like to have an on-site quotation.
