We have an exsisting deck and want to a have a lower level deck just above and no railing, the ground 6 to 7 feet wide and 21 to 22 feet long. No stairs, and use pressure treated wood. I have now posted some pictures to give a better idea of the area. Now the lower will need posts cemented I asume 4ft into the ground. Also the pergola that we want is more like 11x11 to replace the one in the photo below. In the 4th photo the corner of the main deck and the above ground pool , the lower deck would be nice if it was closer to the pool and it could just be a straight angle to the pool instead of curving with the pool.
Thank you,
Luc Marier
Thanks
Deck in "L" shape one level. First section 10 X 18 attached to house, second section 10 X 25 in front of last. Deck to be closed in with fence planks underneath. Deck to have custom metal railing installed by others. Railing requires blocking every 4ft. Three steps to grade required with steps 4ft wide at end of 18ft section. Deck to be built with building permit up to installation of railing. New house in subdivision, easy entry to backyard, grade slopes gently away from hosue.
I have a wood post on my front porch that is all rotted at the bottom. The wood appears to be sitting directly on the concrete porch. I believe the post is holding some weight of the front of the roof and is not just cosmetic. We are open to ideas on how to best replace or repair this post because we are afraid it's going to fall down with all the rotted wood at the bottom.
I have an old rotted out set of stairs (approx 12 ft run) in my backyard. The backyard has a significant hill that requires steps to access the back 3/4 of the backyard. The previous owners have let the back to it's own devices and as a result much of it has not been maintained. I have a feeling this is due to the rotted out stairs and lack of accessibility. The stairs are currently quite close to the ground, which has likely contributed to a good part of the rot. I'm currently seeking quotes for 2 options so I can start working on our backyard:
1)Removal and replacement of existing stairs, including railings on both sides.
2)In addition to above, having a landing going off the existing deck to access the backyard stairs that way instead.
Looking for an experienced builder to install a 13 1/4' x 15' 'deck', ground level. Want to avoid a city permit requirement, if possible,to keep the process simple. We have a condo board to deal with. This measurement fills a space that is enclosed with a fence and the house on the 15' sides, the house (patio doors) on the one 13 1/4' side, and open on the other 13 1/4' side - would like a gate installed on the open side - 7-ft piece of fence of which 3-ft will be a gate.
The ground level request would result in a platform with the decking installed on a 45 degree angle ending about 16" below the patio door exit to the deck - will require a couple of steps built leading down from the patio door to the deck.
Could use existing fence as anchor on one side, would prefer to not have to use the house as an anchor but not at expense of the platform potentially shifting if not anchored on both sides.
Went to Home Depot and had this designed with MicroPro Sienna Treated Wood being the raw material quoted. Have an idea of what we'd like to spend and are looking for a qualified builder who would like this one day job in Guelph.
Small addition/reno to deck. IT's not a big job, but the deck is built over the only window in my basement which creates a safety issue. The deck is approximately 8 years old, pressure treated wood and in good condition. Requires removal of a small section of the original deck in order to expose the basement window. Also the removal of a privacy screen to be replaced with a regular railing and finally the addition of a smaller lower level (approxmately 8X10). I would prefer completion as soon as possible.
looking for an experienced landscaper to do the following job.
I have a stone 12X20 patio that was put in by the previous owner, and its starting to shift. I would like someone to rip this up, and put it down completely (using the same stone). I also have a weed issue with this patio, so there needs to be some type of barrier put underneath as well. It will be put down in the same shape as it is now except for one minor change that will shorten it. As mentioned the same stone will be used.
Also, I have stone front steps that I would like to be replaced with wood steps.
If you are interested in this job please email me back with a rough estimate - only those that reply with a rough figure will get a response. If you need any more info please let me know. (located south end of guelph).
1) We currently have an external window where we would like extend it from being approx. 2'-10"x 5'-0" to 5'-0"x 6'-8" (to accommodate a sliding door)
2) Extend our current deck by approx. 123.3ft2 (to provide access for the sliding door)
3) Move Air conditioning unit as required
Refer to drawings/photos for more details
Note: drawings are not complete (80% done). Also planning permission is not obtained yet. We are property owners.
Looking to have a two level deck installed (lag bolted to house with ledger board) Approx 16 feet by 12 feet with an angled corner on both levels. Hoping to discuss what to do with basement window that is in the way.
Are happy to put in deck boards ourselves, just need help with digging, setting, joists etc. If there isn't much savings for us doing the boards ourselves, then we definitely don't need to.
Please let us know if you're able to come out for a quote.
Thanks,
Sincerely,
Jason and Janine
