We’ve just bought a condo on Hunter Street East in Hamilton. We’re hoping to make some improvements before we move in. Our complete list is below, but priority is kitchen reno and bedroom floors.
1. Remove a pantry/closet in the kitchen, partially removing the wall between the kitchen and the living room, leaving a 'peninsula' of countertop to separate the kitchen and living room. Ideally, this would be a bar-height counter on the living room side, and a regular counter height on the kitchen side. See pictures A & B
2. Replace the entire kitchen countertop and extend it around (as described above). Install cabinets (and drawers) below this extention. See picture B
3. Replace the tile backsplash in the kitchen. See picture B
4. Remove the ceiling fan from the kitchen and install in master bedroom.
5. Remove closet from first bedroom (nearest to living room). See picture C
6. Replace carpet in both bedrooms with laminate flooring. (8’X12” and 9”X12”)
7. Replace trim in both bedrooms.
8. Remove the closet from the front entrance. See picture D
9. Relocate the light fixture in the living room, nearest to the front door, so that the junction is in the ceiling, rather than the wall. Might not be possible? See picture D
10. Replacing light fixtures throughout unit with our own.
11. Relocate the door to the first bedroom, from angled wall to longer wall between the bedroom and the living room. See picture E.
12. Add lighting to ceiling at window-end of the living room. Might not be possible? See picture F.
13. Widen door to walk-in closet in master bedroom to be double doors / french doors (this will become a home office). See picture G
14. Install a plug socket in the walk-in closet (to become a home office)
