I am interested in replacing the surface or a second floor balcony with a fibreglass surface. The surface area of the balcony is roughly 8’ x 12’.
The balcony structure itself has just been repaired and is free of rot. It is made of wood with wooden railings, and was just re-surfaced with a composite decking which has not proven to be waterproof .
Grateful for an estimate of the cost for installing a fibreglass deck surface (or other fully waterproof surface) on our balcony.
Hello, We have a 2 storey house with a walk out basement. We had a new deck put in a few years ago and it was never properly finished at the siding. We now have major leaking over our basement patio door, and I believe into our walls. We have removed the trim and can see the water pouring in... Can you help? Give us a quote?
Thank you so much.
Michèle
I live in a townhouse. My current deck is the one that the builder installed. It is warped and small. I have a small backyard, so I am looking to maximize my space in order to actually enjoy my backyard. Currently it is just overrun with weeds and I can't seem to get rid of. I am looking for a multi-level deck that will allow for some privacy from the neighbours. I would also like something that is low maintenance.
Property owner looking for quotes on the following:
600-800 square foot rear cedar deck replacement (also interested in pricing composite materials if possible)
800 square foot tiling (wood grain style ceramic tile) to include large eat-in kitchen, mudroom, laundry and stairs to basement
Soffit replacement around perimeter of 3000 square foot home
Description
Two level deck (approx 50 sq ft for upper & 300 sq ft for lower). I have a draft plan available. Interested to use preserved wood for support and preferably white cedar for rest of project. The deck is a semi-circle and stairs are curved.

I'm interested to work with a skilled and reputable contractor who would be flexible and willing to use my labour to help with the project. Quality work is important to me.
Hello,
I would like to build a new single-level 12'x12' Deck using pressure treated wood. The deck should be a simple design, square with standard height railings and a few standard steps leading to the yard located at the end or middle of the deck (note: steps are not the entire length of the deck). The height from the ground to the patio door is 39".
If you have an further questions, please do not hesitate to ask.
Thanks
Original concrete steps are being removed. Parging behind steps are being repaired by a foundation repair contractor who will also be doing foundation repairs at the same time. I would like an estimate for a front porch about 8'x8' made with wood with handrails and steps with handrails all built to code at the very least. I believe porch would require 1 ledger board mounted with spacers on concrete foundation wall under front door and 2 supporting posts at the front of the porch. Foundation contractors have not given me an exact starting date. I have already checked the cost of the material at Home Depot at between $500.00 to $600.00 tax included. I figure that the job should take no longer than 2 days at the most to complete. My budget based on all of this is $3000.00 for labor and materials and taxes. There may be the possibility of a permit requirement because the porch is nearly 2 ft above the ground.
I have two large cages on my property that I want taken down and removed. There is a concrete (patio stones) pad under the largest cage, and I would like a gazebo built on it. I would like an estimate for taking down and removing all the cage materials, and for the construction of a gazebo.
I would also like to add a 4-season room where my deck is currently situated. The deck is made of composite materials, is not particularly well built, especially the steps, so it would probably have to be removed, and the new room created from scratch -- but I'm not sure about that and need expert advice. Since the composite materials were very expensive, I'm wondering if they could be salvaged and used to build a smaller deck adjacent to the room addition I mentioned above.
The deck is on the back of the house. Contractors may have some problems bringing in materials, etc., because access to the back of my property is either through the attached garage, or via a rather narrow sidewalk down the side of the garage. I have good neighbours on both sides, and I'm sure either of them would co-operate in bringing materials via their properties, if necessary.
I would appreciate getting an estimate on labour and supplies for constructing a room, and for the addition of another deck.
I'm looking for an estimate on a spiral stairce . I'm looking to have a spiral staircase install to have access to my flat roof. I live in a three stories duplex and want to have the staircase start from the 2nd floor patio (the center pole can be anchored to the ground level). The height from the patio to the roof is 240''. The Diameter of Spiral Stair will be 48'' to 60’'. The height fo the risers would be 8”per rise.
Thank you.
We have a balcony over our garage that needs to be rebuilt. It has already been torn down. We live in a townhome condo community, so there are certain specifications that must be met. I can email you the entire file if you give me an email address to send it to. I have included 5 of the pages for your reference. We are looking for a detailed quote which includes separate prices for the waterproof membrane, and the deck and balustrade. Our balcony is attached to our neighbours, so we would most likely hire your company to complete both balconies at the same time. Our projected budget is per household. Thanks
I am having my roof redone and was strongly suggested that I contact a contractor to re-build the overhanging roof as it is deteriorating. Some of the current materials are stilll good and can be reused. I would like a detailed estimate of the material and cost please. I am looking to get this done ASAP...thanks!
I need to rebuild part of my deck and planters (flower beds) that are rotten over the years. See picture SANYO011 and SANYO013. The repair has 5 components:
1) planter-1 next to house wall (see SANYO012 as well as SANYO011):
- measures 76 (L) x 24 (D) and 32 (H)
- it is sitting on a raised 2nd layer deck measuring 76 (D) x 82 (W) and 6(H)
2) planter-2 at far end of SANYO013 (see SANYO014):
- L-shaped with outsider perimeter measuring 24v19x48x24x70x44 ; it is 32 high
3) bench (see SANYO015)
- measures 78(L) x 17 (D) x17 (H) at seat level and 32(H) at back
4) planter-3 next to bench (see SANYO016)
- it measures 40 (L) and 25 (D) x 32 (H)
5) the rotten deck below the above 4 items need to be replaced.
In addition,
a) an additional 72" of deck beyond planter-3 need to be replaced.
b) the deck at planter-1 is sinking. The foundation of this part of deck need to be fixed/replaced.
You only have to provide wood (4x4 for the planter and 2x6 for the deck and bench) and labor to rebuild them. I will look after topsoil and putting the soil and plants back
Please give me an estimate for the above if
i) cedar is used (original material)
ii) pressure treated wood (which should be cheaper) is used instead
Please also provide the time required for the project.
Thanks
We have a 100 year old brick home with an old two-storey wooden porch. The porch spans the width of the house on the ground floor and is 1/2 the size on the second storey. We have a problem with carpenter ants and rotten wood. The whole thing, including wooden stairs to walkway need to be removed and replaced. Hoping to do this in spring 2013 as soon as weather permits.
Thanks,
Nicole
I would like to have my existing back deck removed and replaced. I am not 100% sure of the size I would like but am thinking 15 x 12 feet with a single stair along one of the 12 foot sides. The deck would be about 1.5 feet off the ground and attached to the house. I am thinking composite decking. I am not looking for railings. I would like to speak to a contractor for a quote and to consider my options. Thank you
In 2007 we renovated our screened-in front porch on our house into a covered porch, including a set of stairs leading up to the porch. The porch itself is fine, but it seems the carpenter ants have taken a liking to the railings and some of the stairs; they will need to be replaced. Do you do such work? If so, could we arrange for you to come by and provide me with an estimate? I'm in urban Ottawa - Westboro neighbourhood.
Thanks.
Estimates for the following:
1. a small patio (6 ft X 12 ft) and about 10 - 12 inches high to be built in front of an existing shed.
2. Another shed is to be raised about 5-6 inches. Shed size: (10 X16). I think the shed has sunk because we now have difficulty opening the doors, and one of the doors needs to be forced in order to open.
The shed has a small patio in front and the back is about 2 ft away from fence, one side about 2 ft from second shed, and other side is about 2 ft from a working area.
However, if it is cheaper to lower the patio, this is also another option. This would need to be discussed with the experts.
My Stairs and decks need replacement or repair. Decks has soft spots.Stairs need replacement but structure is fine made out of metal.
I wanted a quote for both upper deck and lower with Stairs.
Budget will depend on what we chose to replace it with.
Dimensions:
6 Stairs: 4feet by 11"
Lower deck:9*9 feet
Upper Deck 6*18 feet
I have a 10 x 10 deck that is 9 feet off the ground. I would like to build stairs from the deck. I believe I would need a landing off the deck when the stairs begin and possibly another landing half way down the stairs so that the stairs can turn (change direction). I would like to use pressure treated lumber and sonotubes to support the landings. The bottom of the stairs would be an interlock patio which has yet to been built. I already have a contractor for the patio, I just need to have stairs put in after wards.
Low level 12x12 cedar wooden deck with 2-sided single step along entire side of the deck. The stairs on one side of the deck comes down on interlock pavers. After one season, these staies squeak when stepped on. The staris are attached to the underside of the deck by metal braces.
I would like the stairs rebraced to eliminate the squeak.
This should be a relatively fast and easy project. I want to build a 2 level deck of approx. 200 square feet in size. The firs level is off the patio door and will be 6 x 10' (the patio door is 6 feet of the ground), down 2 or three steps and the second levelI will be approx 12 x 10' and then 2-3 steps to the ground.
The deck will be attached to the house and I was planning on using ciment pillars (cylinders). I will be using pressure treated wood. I already have an estimate from a hardware store for the wood and material. I need someone to lead this project. I will dig up and install the ciment pillars where you would want me to set them up. Once this is done I would need someone to come and build the deck. If this project interest you give me a shout and we can talk about availability and prices.
Thank you,
-mathieu
