Looking to have my roof replaced in the spring time.
Currently has BP shingles we had replaced 18 years ago
Began curling a few years ago and is now starting to look really bad. I understand that spring is a better time to replace than winter but want to get it taken care of right away when the warm weather comes.
Interested in what shingles are available for replacement, and what kinds of shingles are better than others. The company we hired 18 years ago seems to no longer be in business but on their estimate it said 31 squares. That is the only size I know with regards to the roof specifically.
Looking for someone to do a roof replacement on my bungalow this summer. The footprint of the house is ~28x33 and it is a medium pitch roof. There are two sunlights, one needs to be replaced and dams around both need to be upgraded. Vaulted ceilings throughout so ridge vent will be required.
Regards,
Thomas
I need a quote for replacing the shingles, eavestroughs, roof vents and install drip edge & flashing on the roof of a 1,600 square foot bungalow. Hip style roof. Ignore the garage for the purpose of the quote. We are in negotiations to purchase, so we need a quote number directly, and will set up the work if we obtain the house.
Previously reshingled over top of existing shingles, so there is a double layer of shingles to remove. See attached photos.
I appreciate the information.
There is one rafter that needs to be fixed, reattched ot another rafter. The job can be done from inside the attic or if need be done from the roof. It would most likely need another 2 by 6 sistered to the one in place and would involve a mitre cut or two. It is an older home and the rafter was not attached correctly in the first place. It is not a hard job.
I am currently in need of a new roofer for a job coming up in September.
Older roofer graciously backed out as this job is a little complex with a few leaky skylights.
Slope is fairly shallow save for one steep dormer.
If you are a qualified and reliable company that offers warranty on your work and stands behind it please contact me to set up a site meeting.
Must also have WCB.
Thank you,
Christian
I need someone to fix the roof and install eavestroughing in an older house in Edmonton's west end. The inspection report indicated that a couple of rafters in the addition at the back of the house may also need replaced. I need someone who can do (or organise) both - .....fix the roof and then reshingle it... and install the eavestroughing.
Looking to have tar paper, flashing, drip edging and shingles installed on a 3200 sq/ft 2 story home w/ a 2 car attached garage. Just going to use 30 yr ash fault 3 tab shingles. I'm looking for an approx estimate either by sq/ft of roof space or by total job. Please email me asap as im looking to have this work done yesterday.
I added a 14'x14' 2 storey addition to my house and I'm looking to shingle it, and tie in the shingles to those in the back of my house. The total area of new shingles and connection to replace existing ones on the back of my house is about 700 sq ft. The roof is prepared with ice/water barrier on the edges and RoofCraft T30 protective underlay. I am only looking for someone to complete the roofing with metal flashing and shingling. (Note roof is 9/12 slope, so experience on a steeper slope is required). I would order materials and have them on the roof ready to go.
Currently have a low slope roof on a 1974 house where the previous shingling did not overlap to the eavestrough. As a result the facia boards are rotting. I would like to have three curb mounted opening skylights installed (living room, kitchen, master bedroom) where it would require framing from the ceiling through the joists to the curb. At the same time, I would like fans installed near the skylights to assist in exhausting the hot air. I would also like the existing shingling removed, additional insulation (foam board insulation), and steel roofing installed. This project would also require installing new facia boards and eavestroughing.
Need free estimates. Small structural job.
Replacing main living-room support bim for wood or steel one (current had cracked due to poor original construction).
Adding one (or two) girder truss to support roof depending on engineering report. Usually contractor is dealing with residential structural engineer.
Need engineering specification to obtain city permit and to order custom made and stamped (engineer approved) trusses. If this is done by the contractor on emergency basis the permit will be issued by city much more faster.
