We have a small bathroom renovation in a basement suite to carry out. The bathroom is very small and consists of a shower, toilet and sink. We would like the following work to be carried out:
- Repair and paint walls
- Fit a new laminate floor
- Replace toilet, shower, sink in existing positions
- Replace the door with a sliding door to maximise space
- Fix the ceiling and add spot lighting.
Currently the bathroom has a suspended ceiling and panels, which has a large pipe running through it. We would like a proper ceiling, which might need to be lowered 4 inches to cover the pipe.
We can send photos of the bathroom no problem and we can buy the fixtures and materials. This is the start of further renovations so there is the potential for more work upon satisfactory completion.
34" x 60" area for installing a tub and tile on the walls and put the green gyprock on the wall. (ripping out old drywall)A decorator 3" of tiles in 2 rows on the wall.(1" X 1")
Existing single stall shower to be removed. Plumbing from shower stall would need to modified to fit bath tub. Only a shower curtain in going in. 8" X 10" tiles along on the wall to a high point leaving about 1 ft. to the ceiling.Make support floor for tub and do a membrane enclosure. So in the end you would a bath tub with tiled walls and a functional shower & bath. Toilet and sink are staying. Minor flooring to adjust tile with new tub!
We would like to replace our tub with a lager tub that may or may not have jets or the like. This would involve some drywall removal to make room for the larger tub and we are not certain about going with tile for the wall treatment. What other mediums can be used as tub surround treatments other than vinyl? Can anyone give an approximate cost for contracting this project?
Hi there;
I have a bathroom that needs an overhaul. It is in a basement suite in my house that I rent out as a vacation rental. I can block a few weeks in November or the beginning of December to have the work done.
As it is a vacation rental, the only days I have to view it to quote are from today to Friday September 4 at 3 pm. I will choose from the quotes I get.
I know what I want pretty much, as I just finished another suite bathroom which turned out great, and wouldn't mind it being quite similar.
I can purchase the tub, vanity, sink, safe and sound insulation for the ceiling, toilet, tiles, drywall and vinyl flooring if these items need to be at the house before the work begins... or is it better if you get it? Let me know.
I will send photos of how it is now. It really needs to be freshened up!

Downstairs bathroom in 40 yr old house - aprox 7.5' x 8.5' dimensions. Original owner did poor renovation to make the bathroom (i.e. drywall shower!). Has low ceiling (just under 8 feet) with awkward bulkhead on one side. Walls and ceiling probably need to be removed and re-drywalled.
Floors are vinyl on concrete. The concrete floor may need to be re-leveled a bit.
The plumbing for the shower needs to be moved from an extended additional wall (which will be removed) and moved to one of the sides. I would like a glass corner shower unit with tiled walls in shower area.
Some electrical work needed to move light fixture and add an electrical outlet. I would also like to move the light switch from outside the bathroom to inside.
Moving into our new house on September 11th. Our ensuite and rental suite washroom needs a renovation. Ensuite will need to be top quality as this will be our home for a very long time. The rental suite washroom needs a new shower and minor fixes. Would need both to be done in a timely manner as we only have one other washroom for ourselves and would like to have the suite rented asap.
Large walk in closet right next door to the existing bathroom on the second floor. New ensuite will have a walk in shower with two shower heads, radiant heating in the floor, sink with vanity and toilet. Exhaust fan and new lighting needs to be added. We can purchase and supply materials, or would welcome a hand selecting and contractor pricing. Ideally work to be completed by first week of December 2009. Existing closet organizers will be removed by us prior to start of project. Ready for any time in November. The ceiling below is unfinished laundry room so easy access.
Looking to redo our guest bathroom including new tub, vanity, sink, toilet, bathtub area tiling and possibly the floor tiling. The condo is 30 years old and has original fixtures. The wall behind the tub will probably need new backer board. The bathroom is fairly small 5 x 8 feet. Guest bathroom will be done now and then the master bath next year.
We are moving into a home in Port Moody that requires about 1400 Square Feet of new flooring spit between tile/slate and hardwood. In addition we would like to do the main floor powder room at the same time. Current tiles and carpet need to be removed and replaced. The house was built in 1993 and is a town home is a smaller complex.
We will have limited furniture in the house for renos but have two cats that need to remain in the home during the construction of new floors.
Thanks!
Hello,
We are looking to remodel our kitchen and 2 bathrooms within our condo. They are out of date, and need new countertops, sinks, showers, toilets, etc. The floors are the only thing that will stay.
I'd like to book a consultation at our home to receive a quote from you.
Thank you,
Laura-Ashley

We bought an older house that we have reno'd, everything except for the laundry room and powder room. It is a time warp when you go in there, straight back to the 80's. We would like to do the following:
- level and tile floor
- gut powder room, install new sink and toilet
- install barn doors where existing accordian door separates furnace and laundry from the other hallway area
- install countertop ontop of washer and dryer
- strip wall paper, paint
- new trim, baseboards and casings
- install new door into garage (the old one is definately not to code)
- possible have a custom cabinet built for shoe storage.
The goal of the project is to replace an old alcove (16 inch height) metal 5 ft bathtub and all related accessories (drain, the faucet, gaskets etc.) with a new taller (20 inch height) acrylic one.
If possible with minimal damage to the surrounding tiles; replace only as much as need to be replaced: at worse the 3 walls surrounding the bathtub.
We are thinking of a partial remodel in our ensuite bathroom. Our home is 17 years old. We have an existing shower insert and would like to have a walk in shower done complete in tile (preferably). (There is one corner of our bathroom with a small patch of mould). Our ensuite bathroom is the original - no previous renovations done. The shower space is approximately 65" by 39". The entire bathroom is approximately 65" by 111". There is one small window which is sitting just outside of the shower right now. We are looking to have to knock down a partial wall where the shower head sits right now, put up a glass wall with a door and move the plumbing from where it is now to one of the other walls. We would also be replacing the vanity in this bathroom.
We also looking at replacing the vanity counter in our main bathroom. It has a 60" vanity with a single sink in it right now but we are exploring the idea of a double sink in this space which would require some plumbing changes also.
Our house is approximately 20 year old. We want to do our kitchen and nook floor in tiles with radiant floor (NuHeat or others) and have the tiles continue in the hallway, entrance, laundry room and powder room. The entrance currently has a 9' x 9' area with tiles that need to be removed and the subfloor needs to be setup for the tiles. In the powder room we want to replace the cabinets, mirror (currently glued on wall) and toilet. The same for the bath room as well as replacing the bath and tiling around the bath. We also want radiant floor in the bathroom. Each bathroom will have 2 base cabinets (1 sink + 1 drawers) and 1 vanity cabinet (above toilet). Cabinets come pre-assembled, no need to assemble them.
The work can be looked at as 3 main areas:
1. Tile floor for Kitchen/Nook/Hallway/Entrance/Powder/Laundry for an approximate total of 500 sqft
2. Power room upgrade by removing cabinets, mirror, toilet and replacing with new. Powder room is 6' x 4.5' with a ~39" vanity with 1 sink. All plumbing to stay in the same location.
3. Bathroom upgrade by removing cabinets, mirror, toilet, bath and replacing with new. Tiling around bath and installing radiant floor with tiles. Bathroom is standard size with a 60" x 30" bath and ~44" vanity with 1 sink. All plumbing to stay in the same location.
Owner will take care of painting and baseboard (We are changing them so there is no need to worry about them).
Bathroom location:
- Upstairs bathroom (main entrance + 1 stair case). Tightest spot would be the average hallway width of a residential house
- old home (Maybe 50 yrs)
- Bathroom has been cleaned down to barewalls. Shower stall has been removed. Remaining items are the sink, bowl a bathtub with legs
- Squarefootage: 7'8" by 9'6"
- part of the bathroom has a slant roof (Like the attic)
- Coquitlam area
Required work
- Tile the entire floor and add drainage
- Tile the entire walls
- Add extra ventilation
- Move the bowl and sink (might think of an alternative if this proves to be unaffordable)
- Upgrade sink to two sinks
- Install glass shower (not a kit)
We have an ensuite bathroom that had a leaky tiled shower that damaged walls and floor. The shower has been removed but the bathroom needs a complete reno. We also have a main floor full bathroom that is outdated so we'd like to update it. Finally, we're interested in building a new, small half bathroom in our basement as well.
We just a bought a 1979 townhouse. The bathrooms, half on first floor and full on second, are original. We would like to get them both renovated before we move in on March 1st, 2011. We have very short time to get the work done, hence contractor availability and commitment between Feb 19th and 28th is essential to get this job done.
Basically, we want to completely strip down the two bathrooms and redo them. (excluding paint). The inspection of the full bathroom revealed wet walls behind the tiles. The tiles and bathtub will be removed and a damage to the walls behind the tiles will need to be assessed. Most likely some dry-walling may be necessary on two small sides of the shower. Sinks, cabinets, and possibly floor tiles on both bathrooms will need to be redone.
I don't have the exact measurements of the bathrooms yet (will get that in a week or two). The bathrooms are small, typical townhouse style from 1979. The square footage of the entire townhouse is 1300 sq (two floors)

time or later.

Looking to renovate our master bathroom shower.
Am thinking of tile on the walls and floor, with a glass enclosure. Looking for contractor that can provide different ideas for the shower and can stick to a timeframe.
This is a relatively small project, but would appreciate a quote on those who are interested.
Thanks
