Hi,
I'm looking for a contractor who can help replace the entire flooring on the second level of my Vancouver Special home. Currently, squeaking noises can be heard throughout the home and there are some sunken spots in the bedroom and bathroom floors.
Also, if it within my budget, i'd like to replace the kitchen cabinets, bathroom vanity. I have no preference for the material used for cabinets, vanity and floors as long as cost are low. However, my main concern is that the squeaking and sunken spots have been taken care of.
I would appreciate it if the project can be completed before the end of February.
Thank you
Tom
I take possession on June 13, and wanted to do some renovations before I move in on June 30.
The basic changes are as follows:
1. Removing a small section of wall near my kitchen.
The home inspector I hired said he thought it would be possible to do it, as he didn't think it was weight-bearing (although it did have some electrical inside it) but obviously I understand you would need to assess if this was possible.
2. Installing a new vinyl plank flooring (as well any necessary underlay and a trim around the walls) throughout the 590 sq. ft. unit.
Here is the flooring sample I would hope to purchase:

I'm looking to buy a one bedroom condo in Vancouver and would like to get some work done on the inside. The square footage of the condo is 525 sq. ft. The building was built in 1993. I'd like to replace the carpets with hardwood laminate in the living/dining room and, if affordable, the bedroom too. The dimensions of the bedroom are 13' X 10'. The dimensions of the living room is 13' x 12' and the dining room is 12' x 6'. Essentially the living and dining room is just one big room, like a box, the width essentially would be 13 feet and the combined length would be 18 feet (12 + 6).
I will also need to paint the living room, bedroom and bathroom too so I am trying to see what this all might cost before I put down an offer to buy the condo. I wouldn't mind doing some work to the kitchen and bathroom too, but perhaps later on down the line. I guess I'm just trying to see if the great purchase price is worth the additional work that's needed. My main concern and reason for requesting a quote is simply the cost of doing the laminate flooring, and what my options are with that too. Thanks.
