Ability Millwork did an excellent job. Laurie was on time and put in long days to get the job done on time. He provided insight when issues arose with the design of the house and even helped out when the plumber messed up (and billed his time to the plumber rather than myself!) He also designed and put together our kitchen island, preparing it for tiling. He took it in stride when we explained that we wanted it much higher than usual as we are a tall family.
We have lived in our home 5 years now and I have not experienced a single issue with a door, cabinet or drawer anywhere. And just to share the scale of this project that Laurie took on single handed, we have 12 interior frames with 16 doors and approximately 50ft of of cupboard/counters on our main floor alone.
Of all the contractors that were employed during the construction of our home, Laurie, Ability Millwork, was by far the most professional and his years of experience and customer service is second to none!
As a first time homeowner with no renovation or handyman experience, I had my reservations about hiring a contractor to reno the kitchen but I feared making any regrettable mistakes and not getting the outcome I wanted. My friend recommended Ability Millworks and I must say, I was impressed with the job they did in my outdated kitchen. It was a sight for sore eyes and they were able to restore to the vision my wife and I wanted. From our first meeting I could tell they were knowledgeable and experienced, and my intuition didn't fail me. Counters and cabinets turned out beautiful and the work was done on time and within the estimate they provided. Really great job! Would recommend to anyone!

Owner, Laurie Koblun started out in basic kitchen sales and design, then wanting more concentrated information on the kitchen and bath industry as a career headed deeper into design, installation, and manufacturing. Along the way Laurie has been involved with the most basic residential and commercial requests needing only a few hours to complete. Or mid size projects taking a few days or up to many weeks. As well as multi unit condos, apartments, and hotel projects requiring months of effort to keep on track.
At present Laurie's operation is concentrating on the smaller to mid-sized custom cabinetry type projects for any room or type of building whether residential, commercial, institutional or even remote locations needing special transportation and arrangements.
Laurie prides himself on doing as much of the processing within his own shop space as possible. He is set up to be a little more of a unique type shop, by investing in the machines needed, to make most of his own cabinet doors, crown molds, dovetailed drawer boxes and casework etc. Design variation from frameless to face framed, to inset door options and beaded framed work are all welcomed and achieved for any client. Requests for custom furniture for the home and office to fit that special situation are always welcome.
Specialized European water based finishes that are environmentally safe for his employs and clients are a solid compliment to his operation and modern expectations of his clients. Laurie is seen partaking in most steps required to complete a project, and prefers to be more hands on to ensure the small details all add up to happy satisfied clients.
Corain style countertops and laminates have been paired up by Laurie for many projects as well as the use of other specialty type surfaces such as solid woods, wood veneers, Granite, Quartz and designer cements. Corian fabrication, even for custom shower stalls and wet wall set ups or curved bar lay ups have been requested and completed over the years.
Mild to Wild has always been the invitation to his clients for their ideas and expectations to be presented, discussed and completed.
