Abraxis Painting did a fantastic job of painting our apartment. Raphael Interior Designer, really helpful and picked some really great colours. The work was carried out to a very high standard and with a high degree of professionalism and attention to detail. They were also an absolute pleasure to deal with and very trustworthy.
Contracted Raffael to do a PentHouse of 2000 square feet. Certain sections of the place. The project was divided in two segments. The second segment which was a fireplace and the wall it was on, was left for after the stone was installed. This was the only complicated part.
Raffael completed the first portion but asked to collect 4700$ of the funds. He made a trustworthy impression so I released the funds without assessing what the remainder of the job would cost relatively. It costs around 1400$ to complete the job, but I only kept 600$ from his total invoice. He never came back to finish the job.
He answered back a few times. Delayed me for a month and then ghosted me under the pretext that he has other projects and is too busy.
I did a deal for a complete job for him. If he just did section one and not section two, that means he over collected and broke his word. I had to have my other contractor come and fix it.
He makes a trustworthy impression, but I would not trust him again. He broke his own word. I have it in messages. there is no arguement here, he just ghosted because I made the mistake of keeping too little deposit for him to come finish the job.
Hey Nima, thank you for writing us. Feedback good & bad allow us to help improve our customer service.
We pride ourselves on our excellent craftsmanship and our customer service, henceforth our other 73 HOMESTARS reviews (10/10).
The title of this review is a bit misleading & requires further clarification. Also, "ghosting" is a complete fallacy.
What the Client has not mentioned is that over 98% of the condo HAS been completed. All the areas that were ready have all been done.
* Important to note - client has had no issue with the work itself as it was done very well, in a timely manner and very clean.
The painting and spray work was completed in excellent quality satisfaction. The only item that was outstanding was 1 area that was delayed 3 weeks by another contractor.
As pictured, the client was waiting on another contractor to install tiles around his fireplace. It was our job to come in and spray the fireplace that is currently black and change the colour to white.
What the client fails to mention, is the complications that had occurred with his installation - requiring to push back the timeline (20 days). To add, the installation was very poor, so much so the corners all have to be redone. A different job than the one that we agreed to - requiring at least another day to the job- which we were going to absolve *
As work began, he decided to add more items to the scope ( extra rooms / 3-D feature walls to be sprayed etc) as he was very happy w the quality of the work itself.
When we price out our jobs, we itemize every scope. Each room, each area has a price. The price to spray the fireplace was $300 as outlined. Upon completing everything that was ready, he decided to hold back 600$, we had no problem as we had every intention of coming back.
Our team consists of six painters that specialize in high end custom work for builders .When we are on a project, we start and finish that project before moving on. Should there be a delay that requires us to come back, we most certainly will - however if it was an unplanned delay ,and we are in the middle of another project, our current project must be completed before going to another one.
This clients issue was that we did not get back to his project in his desired time frame after his delay.
We hired Abraxis Painting to wrap up a full reno we have been working on for months. The entire construction process was extremely tiring and we wanted to get everything done with a quality standard that we would be happy with (we spent alot of money and wanted to have it finished properly).
After researching contractors we selected Raphael and Abraxis Painting to do the work. They were top-knotch painters that took care of everything. We knew we picked the right company the moment we saw how they prepared everything before the work began. All the floors were completely covered, they spent 2 days preparing the walls and fixing them before paint arrived on site. All their lines were straight and walls were fully consistent with no weird lines. Prior to leaving, they did a very thorough clean up and made sure to leave everything dust free. Very happy with their work and will continue to recommend them to others.
Thanks guys for all your hard work.
I hired Abraxis to paint 3 bedrooms and 1 bathroom, I had multiple holes in the walls, the baseboards and the windows definitely needed to be caulked. This group of guys did a spectacular job, they made it look like the walls themselves were new. Raphael and his team were very cooperative and friendly throughout and would definitely use them again.
Thank you for the great review William, it was a pleasure working with you!
We hired Abraxis Painting to come and paint our basement. It consisted of 4 rooms and a bathroom, all walls and ceilings. They came on time, did a great job and left our place clean. All you could ask for in a renovation. Raphael helped us with selecting colours and was there in the final walk through.
Thanks, we will use again.
Thank you for the great review. We are glad to hear you are happy with the work and that we will be working together in the future.
Take care!
I hired Raphael and his team from Abraxis Painting Inc. to paint three of my bedrooms which included the walls, ceilings and baseboards. Their team was extremely professional and extremely friendly. The experience was great in regards to communication and professionalism. The preparation and execution of the job was flawless and we didn't come across any problems, everything had gone as planned. The rooms overall look lovely, very well done job.
Thank you for your kind review! It means a lot to us that you would take the time to tell us that you are happy with the work. Hope to work with you again!
Thanks!
Raphael
Great communication, Quality work, On time, clean. Dealt with problem areas with creative solutions so my goals could be met. Raphael and his team were simply excellent. Being a business owner, I have a pretty high standard of service that I expect and these guys met it all and more.
Thank you for the great review! We are happy to help on expanding your facility so you can do what you do best! Wish you luck in your business and thanks again for giving us a review!
A few days ago we had to renovate our bedrooms. I asked some of my friends for a reliable painting service and they told me about Abraxis. I had an estimate done and after the 1 meeting with Raphael I had made my decision. Raphael was very courteous to me and my family and gave me a very reasonable price. The materials were purchased and the job started on time, they came with the proper equipment with sufficient people and started immediately on arrival. The job finished on schedule and no mess was left behind. I will use Abraxis anytime in the future.
I liked the care that these guys showed. They made sure to protect my chairs and carpets, using their plastic coverings.
The quality of the finished product was really nice too, by making sure that they did not miss any areas.
Great customer service too.
After interviewing several companies I hired Abraxis in February to do interior painting based on their professionalism, guarantee to return for touch ups, insurance and promise they would be the ones doing the painting.
Once the initial job was underway I was impressed with their presentation, professionalism and dedication to getting it right. However, after 2 months of waiting on their promised touch-ups on missed areas and clean-up of spilled paint (all avoidable by experienced painters) AND sending a belligerent staff who yelled at us and hung-up on us after he cancelled the final visit with 2 hours' notice, they have abandoned the job.
We paid in full the agreed upon rate and are now required to hire professional interior painters.
I have no doubt that these guys do a great exterior job but they are inexperienced with it comes to interior painting where details matter.
As a gesture for not charging me for an accent wall they asked if I would submit a review to this website - to which I agreed during the initial painting expecting the job to meet my satisfaction and be completed in full. When they told me they are abandoning the job I told them, as promised, I would submit my review. In response they threatened to submit bad reviews on our business in retaliation to our honest feedback of our experience.
Be warned. Know what you are getting into.
I would first like to apologize for the service you have received which has left you unsatisfied. We are thankful for your honest feedback and strive to learn from it and how it can aid us and help grow our business.
For all readers ( more details about the project )
We have originally met the client in January 2015 for a quotation for interior painting of an older home ( 80+ years) . The clients are neighbours down the street and we got along very well with a good understanding on what they were looking to have done.
The client wanted a color change in a couple of rooms to achieve a new look. The home is an older home with plaster walls that have seen some excessive wear and tear through the years and slight shifting of the home as it settled .
After 2 weeks we have been selected, the client requested a lower price which was granted for a positive review. Clients also asked for a few extras-at no cost. Extras included replacement of door casements, baseboards and decorative trim around the stairs. As a fellow business and neighbour we agreed to take on the project and added extras to help with budget and secure another customer.
Upon commencing project and travelling to Toronto to match trim pieces, we had finished the project in 6 days. 2 days extra due to additional preparation and added work. The client had suprised us with extra accent colors as-well in the bedroom. We absolved all costs with changes.
Upon completion the homeowner pointed out deficiencies ( un-even walls, not straight cutlines, more baseboards they wanted to replace). Upon further investigation of the walls which were pointed out, it was clear that the wall itself was very damaged over 80 years of shifting. Straight lines were not possible due to the contours of the wall. However we performed extra repair work and corrected some lines but to no avail. After many touch ups performed homeowner agreed that the problem was in fact with the shape of the wall and the un-even ceiling.
Through the whole process , Abraxis Painting re-painted the entire home once more(absolving all material and labour costs- NO CHARGE - inclusive of all extra installations of trim & mouldings)
Upon completion, homeowners inspected all of the work and were staisfied with the project and cleared the balance. However 3 weeks later, we had been contacted for touch ups . We had been forwarded a list of the touch-ups that have already been performed and requested if we can fix some of the areas attributed with the damaged plaster walls.
We scheduled touch ups within a week, however client cancelled the day before
We scheduled another day for touch ups 2 weeks from the previously scheduled day, client had allowed us in to do extra compunding for plaster deficiencies. Some deficiencies also included scraping of old paint that was previous to our work done by another painter in the kitchen. After completing first wave of minor touch ups, client scheduled for us to come by later in the afternoon. Upon coming in the afternoon- homeowner was not present.
We got in contact with homeowner and gave them another day we could come- they had refused and demanded it to be done on their schedule- blaming us for the delays. They spoke with our staff very rudely and condescended the entire project even though it had been completed to the original scope of work. At this point we have given an extremely reduced price with many free add ons and extra discounts for a positive review.
After explaining that we could not come back, they threatened to post negative pictures and display touch-ups in mid-progress ( the ones we were unable to complete due to scheduling)
After the negative review ,we had offered to come back and fix remaining touch ups however we are currently waiting for a reply.
Our core business values and priorities revolve around satisfying all customers no matter what the situation. We pride ourselves on excellent customer service and high quality workmanship.
