Concrete was poured with the wrong slope, is uneven and pools water. Second pour was bull floated and abandon without cover on a day with 70% chance of severe thundershowers. Tooling not completed, no power trowel, nor control joints or finish edging.
Bill Braun never has returned to work site and has not contacted us.
Entire job will have to be removed and redone by a competent contractor.
Some people should not be allowed to say they are even contractors, he broke things things taking out the old patio he was replacing. Nice he said he as going to fix it by going to a house in the neighbor hood and fining a sill for the door to replace. I thought I would hire some one professional to do this before it got any worse. So then he told me he would have the concrete forms in before the truck got there. It had to sit. The concrete expired. Not only was it a hot day my blood was boiling. So then he didnt have enough people show up to help him.
He left my yard in a mess. Patched his work. Man I was not happy.
The week of June 22, 2022 was the nicest week in June with the exception of the Friday. I have weather history and camera footage on my side so telling people I fired you because it was raining and I was impatient is a lie. You got paid (which there is also proof of) and bailed on the job, I texted and called all day and you ignored and provided zero explanation prior to firing you. Which resulted in me digging around for info to which I found multiple people unhappy with your quality of work. When I confirmed with you on the 21st if you were pouring and laying rebar on the 22 you had no issues telling me you were good to go with your forms then even though they had sat out a month. I gave you a week until I took to social media. And then I really found out how poor of a job you really provide. You owe me a refund for the service you ditched out on and I will continue to express my experience with your company to any one and everyone.
Braun Boys Concrete was recommended to me by a neighbour. I told them I would like an 8” high, 4” wide white curb around the perimeter of my backyard to which an ornamental steel fence would be placed above (posts already installed into the ground). I was asked to pay 80% of the cost up front, something I normally would not do. The forms (they just purchased) did not look straight. They had to purchase more spikes as they didn’t have enough. When I enquired about the forms being different heights, they said “Don’t worry it will look great”.
My next door neighbour was very upset. Saying she could see from her window that the forms looked “horrible”. I asked them again to fix it. I asked how he was going to get the curb level pushing concrete under a piece of wood that was screwed inside the forms, holding boards together.
The final day, they showed up to remove forms, I asked Bill Braun Sr, how it looked. He said “Not as good as I thought it would”. My heart sank.
There was a big pile of concrete stacked up in the corner and dirt and sod left all over my patio. The curb looked like a roller coaster, up and down; the sides thick then thinner. The amount of concrete spilled onto my neighbours’ lawn must be jack hammered to remove. I contacted Bill Braun Jr and I asked if they were coming back. Is this the finished product? I was told they had to leave to go to another job and that they were coming back for the final cleaning. I let him know I was not happy with what I saw, nothing was level, sides weren’t plumb and thickness changes throughout. He said he was “able to get the top level still”. I asked about the sides; can they be straightened out? I never seen or heard from them again. I was left with a mess, upset neighbours and a bad curb. Now it’s going to cost me more money to have it removed. It is my opinion they didn’t know what they were doing.
