We hired Dustin Potorti of Hand and Hammer Construction and Renovations to do a bathroom reno and was quoted 9878.50. Halfway through the project due to poor workmanship and many other issues, we had to fire him.
He came to the home and wanted to get in, but we refused due to fear, as he was very angry. He threaten us to put a lean on the home and take us to small claims court, as he said he knows the process. He followed through with his threat.
Being we are fixed income seniors we decided to just pay him to get rid of him. Save on the legal cost. But then he sent us another e-mail after paying him saying that his lawyer insist we sign a non-disclosure agreement, but we didn't.
He finally took the lean off the home. The lean was for 2776.00 and he made us pay him 3464.34 to remove it. So we payed him 10,406.44 and got an unfinished bathroom. Then we had to pay someone else to complete the bathroom, which was in shambles.
The picture is of the hole he put in my 1300.00 dollar vanity we paid him for. That he said his painter would be able to fix it to industry standards.
Dustin has threatened to sue me for a negative review, but I feel that it is important for people to know what he did to us. He installed our flooring incorrectly. He would not admit to any mistakes though there were multiple confirmed by multiple flooring experts. We asked him to fix it, but he refused until we made final payment on the entire estimate amount. We said we would pay if he fixed it and the jobs were completed. He continued to refuse to fix the floor until we paid in-full. He cut off communication and very quickly filed against us in small claims court.
He lost his case against us and ended up having to pay us the amount of our counterclaim.
Dustin sent the payment.
