Kerrison Contracting

They started and finished the project in a timely manner. They were very well organized. Fred knew exactly what we wanted and carried through with the design. We were very pleased how Fred and his crew Zach and Matt, worked together. They were well mannered and respectful. We trusted them with the keys to the house, to come and go as they needed to. The kitchen, flooring and stair rail turned out beyond our expectations and we are more than pleased with it. We would recommend his company to any who needs a contractor.

We hired Fred and his crew Gerry and Jeff to do our bathroom renovation. We found his name on the trusted pro web site and decided to call him. He gave us a price and we decided to go for it. Fred and his crew were very nice and also very professional. They work hard and are very articulate with their work. They put in a new bathroom window, new sub floor and ceramic floor (looks beautiful!!) and new ceramics around the tub. They also installed the new vanity and paint and little extras. They came across a couple of surprises which they were happy to resolve (thank god) for us.

They are a great bunch of guys and we absolutely adore our bathroom.

Having used Kerrison Contracting for a few smaller jobs and experiencing the craftsmanship and quality of work first hand - this was a no brainer.

We still went through the quotation process with Kerrison and other contractors for this project - and again it was clear - Kerrison Contracting is always the right choice. (We won’t be quoting out any of our projects - the call will always go direct to Fred from now on for the record)

PRICE QUOTED WAS THE PRICE PAID

We worked with Fred to match our budget to our vision. I have to add Fred speaks my wife’s language (it’s uncanny) and he was able to bring new life to even the most carefully crafted plan. Fred just has this ‘way’ of seeing the vision and expanding on it. No doubt the years of experience and high calibre of work he holds himself and his crew to are the reason he has a lot of great suggestions and ideas. The real

magic is how he paints the picture so you can understand it - of course the finished product exceeds even the idea.

I have to send a shout out to his team as well. Jerry & Jeff were there everyday 8:00am without fail. Our kids looked forward to seeing them every day over the 4 weeks they were with us. They became like honoured guests in our house and were always great with the kids and their questions.

We had no problem leaving them our keys and access to our house when we were away. Trust is certainly something not easily given but Jerry Jeff & Fred earned every bit of it.

We are overly inpressed by the finished product (see pics) and it was hard to write this review because we don’t want the secret to get out. Our friends have seen the work the Kerrison crew did and they’ve already reached out to Fred for their projects.

We’re planning on doing our mudroom fall 2018 so don’t schedule a project through then please! :p

Replace & Install Back Door

Our back door was originally installed by the builder and wasnt ever installed / sealed properly. As a result the elements were coming inside - and even buckled our hardwood flooring from the winter months. Rained inside the house and we had a carpenter ant issue which was the last straw.

FRED TO THE RESCUE

We had a prior great experince with Fred and our fireplace so we looked him up again to help us with the Back Door.

He gave us a host of options and suggestions as to the right type of door to install to stand up to the elements. He talked about the western sun exposure and the wind, rain and snow pounding the back face of our house as heavy considerations in the calibre and quality of door we might choose.

He set up a visit for us with the door manufacturer he works with in Barrie so we could see all the options. We were ale to custom order our options and choose the thickness and finish of the door Fred would install.

When the time came to install they spent the day taking out the old door and then checking the opening for damage. Fred showed us what was done wrong the first time by the builder and explained what he was going to do correct that issue.

Once the new door was installed Fred came back the next day with the matching door casing to the rest of the house and finished everything off to our satisfaction.

I might also say he finished the project off to his satisfaction because it is clear he cuts no corners. Fred is the epitomy of professionalism in the sense he has great pride in his work and he has an excellent customer service skill set.

Again the price was also the price - no surprises! With Kerrison contracting you get more than what you pay for and exactly what you were after.

Fireplace Refacing

Fred and his team on this project were exemplary in many ways;

-listened to what we wanted snd shared their vision for how they would make it happen

-shared pictures of prior fireplace work and talked through the considerations with us

-was able to add perspective on why and how he and his team would build our fireplace a certain way

- CRAFTSMANSHIP AND CARING ABOUT THE FINISHED PRODUCT ARE CORE TO FRED’S CHARACTER (I’m pretty sure he doesn’t take on projects he isn’t passionate about putting his stamp on)

-showed up to do the work when he said he would

-if there were any changes to schedule he always communicated it ahead of time (didn’t ‘no show’)

-answered our questions and handled any concerns we raised in a very understanding and courteous manner

-THE PRICE IS THE PRICE !!!!!!! NO SURPRISES and you certainly get what you pay for with Fred

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Kerrison Contracting. They started and finished the project on the scheduled time, did impeccable work within the quoted budget. The worksite was clean and well organized. They were very trustworthy; I provided a key to the house for them to come and go when we were not at home. A painless experience.

The renovation of our bathroom - including taking out a bathtub and replacing it with a walk - in shower - went without a hitch. It was done on time, on budget and working with Fred was a real pleasure. He is indeed a professional, courteous, clean, always on time and with a smile. His workmanship is excellent and the result is breathtaking!!

This is the third project that Kerrison Contracting have done for us. The first was was a small cold cellar reno which was done on time and budget and we were very happy with the end result. The second project was to rebuild the front stone steps which had started to sag - a bigger project this time but again, on time and on budget and very satisfied with the results. The third project just completed in July was a large custom stone patio installed in our backyard- Fred paid attention to our unique design requirements including building two custom cedar panels from a small blurry picture that we had found on the Internet on which we also made verbal changes to - Fred and his team arrived as scheduled every day, worked hard throughout the days and always cleaned up at the end of each day. The final result exceeded our expectations and has turned our ordinary backyard into our personal oasis - he was on budget and insofar as materials used, he went above and beyond on the quality and workmanship. Would happy to be a reference and we do not provide references lightly (this would actually be the first).

Fred has completed a variety of challenging projects in and around my century home over the past decade, always to my complete satisfaction. He is a skilled craftsman and the quality of his work is outstanding. Most importantly, Fred's primary goal is to have a satisfied customer, and he works extremely hard to make sure that's achieved.
