They had terrible service and incapable trades working for them. They cost me personally thousands dollars to redo their shotty work. Muhammad said he would pay me back and cover the costs but never did. Don't trust them or use them. You will be disappointed. I have to take them to court now.
As a result of a few years of lack of moisture, in 2016 we hired Lumberjack construction to redo our front landscaping and had an addition of some flower beds. The brothers were most pleasant, friendly, and their prices met the budget we had in mind. As luck should have it when we finally had the sod replaced it rained causing some delays in getting the sod laid. My flower bed is a great add to the curb appeal as is the stamped concrete we had completed. Overall pleased with the outcome.
The few areas of opportunity was having to do a few follow up calls with Ahmad on a few outstanding items as it was difficult to get a response back in a timely manner. The other opportunity was when the old sod was removed and placed in a pile, it was laid on the city road for a few days which resulted in receiving a warning from the City of Edmonton to have old sod removed from roadway immediately otherwise a $250 fine would have been imposed. This could have been avoided as the road we reside on is a connector road so the warning identified roadway obstruction without a permit. The guys were contacted and removed the old sod immediately after I received notice.
Overall I was pleased with the outcome.
Thanks Chris! It was a pleasure working on your project.
Muhammed and his team were very professional as they took on a project for me involving the full renovation of a 2 bedroom 1 bathroom apartment-style condominium. It was a huge job as the property was in original and very poor condition and had a myriad of issues. Also, Lumberjack knows exactly what colours, tones, and finishings to use so that the property is stylish and up to date to todays standards. Everything from cabinets, to counter-tops, to wall colours and base-boards were completed in what is demanded by consumers today. They made the home look brand-new inside, and did not need me to tell them what to do. If you go with Lumberjack for a full renovation, your house will look like a showhome when it's completed. Muhammed was very communicative and always answered my inquiries speedily. He gave me regular updates and answered my inquiries promptly, and never left me wondering when the work would be completed. He provided me with regular invoice updates as I made payments while the construction was being completed, so that I could keep tabs on what was left owing. In addition, he acted as a liason with the Property Management company for the building so that items such as plumbing and electrical shut off were taken care of and I did not have to deal with it. The job was completed on time and on budget. Lumberjack also took hold of unexpected items as they popped up. Mould and asbestos were found during the course of construction, and instead of leaving me to find a solution, he used his contacts to find the best trades for the job, and worked that in completion of the project without the need for me to worry about it. He also allowed me to work that in to my overall invoice so that I didn't have to pay those trades separately. In short, he made sure the job was stress free for me so that I could focus on my own business and family. Lumberjack Construction is highly recommended and in fact I have already did so to friends and family.
I am writing this review to seconded the previous review made by Justin from Edmonton dated June 21,2016 about the dishonesty and unprofessional of this Lumberjack construction.
Very much the same bad experience by Justin. I contacted Ahmad to do final grade topsoil, planting/sod and the final grade certificate. On May 13,2016 they have completed the topsoil and was told that it was surveyed already and waiting for city inspectors. On June 7 and 13, I contacted him again to follow up and replied that he is still waiting for inspectors. June 28, I contacted the City and was told that they inspected and rejected it since May 26.When I confronted Ahmad about this he told me he is going to fix it and resubmit it again.
Until now July 25,2016, I haven't got my certificate yet and learned from the city that NO fix and NO Request for re inspection was submitted to them.
It have been 2 months after the city rejected it and this company haven't do their share to fix/ submit request for inspection.
Attached are the photos of how the weeds grow after more than two months.
This company is telling they are honest and competent, but let our experiences(me and Justin), speaks the truth. I saved all text messages/conversation with Ahmad.
Ahmad first reason for the delay is due to bad weather, then city inspectors not inspecting, then lastly my neighbors put the fence. From May 26 till today, there are some rain but most of the time it is sunny, about the city inspectors not coming how come that my neighbors got their certificate already and about the fence, when he started this job NO fence was built and it was just recently my neighbors erected the fence, also I informed Ahmad about the building of fence and he told me its ok and will not affect the fix he is going to do.
This company is very quick in getting in their monies since I paid the full amount already except the 210 dollars for the certificate. Very quick that even they are still doing the job he will send his brother to get the money, very fast but very slow in their obligations. They are after for the big bulk of money of more than 3,000 dollars and forget the very small amount of 210 dollars for the final certificate.
But this company don't realized the time lost, hard earned money lost and the ill feelings when you feel you are duped and cheated.
Dishonest and unreliable. We had contracted Lumberjack Construction to perform final grade, lot surveying, and sod on our infill duplex lot. At first the service was good as questions were answered on a timely basis and the work was scheduled earlier than expected.
After the topsoil was delivered and spread, there were delays with the remaining work to be completed. Delays were first blamed on requiring further inspection of the retaining wall. The next delay was blamed on waiting for the City Inspectors to do the final grade inspection as they had sent the survey documents to the City.
After further delay, I contacted the City myself and they confirmed that they never received any survey or documentation from Lumberjack. At this point I no longer trusted them to complete the work and I ended up getting my own surveyor and having the City inspection taken care of.
To top it all off, the final grade completed didn’t even pass inspection. This company has severely delayed my landscaping plans. I would look elsewhere for your landscaping needs since they won’t hesitate to be dishonest and have shoddy workmanship. I have proof of the dishonesty and excuses via email including responses from the City.
It's unfortunate you feel we were dishonest in any way.
This job was completed earlier than anticipated. It was also surveyed as soon as the grade was completed. After noticing that the retaining wall built by the builder would most likely affect the final grade approval negatively (and it did), we decided to inspect the wall first and see if there was something that could be done to mediate this issue.
After discussing with the surveyor, we decided it would be best to submit the survey to the city and wait for a response from the inspector. If the inspector was looking for a minor repair, it would make more sense to do that then to remove and rebuild the wall entirely. A decision made to save you time and money.
You then let us know that you had contacted the city and that nothing was submitted. Rather than asking us why this occurred, you decided you did not require our services anymore and hired someone else.
We looked into this issue and realized there was some miscommunication between the surveyor and the city. We admit that the survey wasn't sent, for some reason, but we would have been happy (and obliged) to solve this and ensure your certificate was received and your job was done right.
We pride ourselves in being an extremely honest company. We never have and never will intentionally be dishonest with a client. We appreciated your patience but would have really wished you spoke with us rather than making decisions before figuring out the facts.
The brothers at Lumberjack Construction helped complete my bathroom renovation with some expertise tiling. My wife and I were very pleased with their work ethic, precision with the tile cuts and managed to maintain a clean work environment. I would strongly recommend Lumberjack Construction for any future consultations.
I liked the renovation that Lumberjack has done to our basement. Everything was perfectly done. The work included flooring, build extra storage (I. E. 3 closets) and painting. The closets were perfectly done. The workers were organized and clean. Also, they were always prepared to do the job. The only thing that we were not completely satisfied about was the the timing, it took longer than expected. Yet, this was not a big issue. All in all, I would recommend Lumberjack and for sure there will more work for them at our place.

Lumberjack Contractors has received complaints from their suppliers and/or creditors
Complaint: Muhammad Berjack owes our company $9,721.27 for waste disposal services completed in the summer of 2017. All I asked was for him to stay in contact with our company and to set up a repayment plan. For a period of time Muhammad was responsive and told me he was waiting on money from a job in BC. Now he has gone silent and will not respond to phone calls, emails, or social media requests. This is a warning to all vendors to not extend credit to Muhammad Berjack or lumberjack construction.
