We hired Justin at North of 9 Contracting.

They were the best price, fixed our fence within 48 hours and did a great job.

We hired them a second time, for another fence repair and again were fast and did

excellent work. Highly recommended.

Justin was professional and timely in responding to my inquiry.

He assess the uneven floor and felt comfortable he could get the job done.

Rather than trying to complete a quick job, Justin made sure he had the appropriate tools to get the job done.

Justin and Kyle did a really fine job rebuilding our deteriorated front fence and building a new fence for our back yard. Our home is an architectural mid-century home and Justin was careful to follow our design specifications to the letter so the fence would still match the house. In the back yard, they ran into roots and rocks when digging the post holes, and even though I gave Justin permission to leave some of the holes shallower, he wasn't happy with that and spent a whole extra day pulling roots and rocks out until they were deep enough to be solid. We had a couple of design changes during the course of fence building, and Justin accommodated these with no trouble. We would definitely recommend North of 9 Contracting for fence work.

We are extremely pleased with our deck. Garrett did the vast majority the work and we are very happy with it. Initially, Justin mis-measured the size of the deck we requested. After the frame was built, he realized that the edge of the frame ended halfway in our window rather than past the window as we had originally requested. Obviously, we did not want railing there. This was a difference of 9". When we asked Garrett and Justin about this they said it was no big deal and that after the inspector checked it they'd add on a 9" overhang, keeping in mind that our deck is shaped like half of an octagon so one side would have no longer been symmetrical with the other. They said don't worry, we wouldn't notice. We were not pleased with this and told them that we wanted a symmetrical deck. We were paying over $6,000 and we should get what we asked for. Since Justin had made a 9" error, we let him know that we were no longer comfortable with him working on our deck without his father-in-law (who is phenomenal- extremely knowledgeable & has an amazing work ethic). The framework was corrected after we expressed our displeasure and now looks great!

Let me start by saying that I am writing this review because we hired North of 9 Contracting because of the reviews they received here and the fact they they even won "Best of Trusted Pros 2015." I have waited a few days since Justin finished my fence because I was pretty upset with the poor workmanship and I didn't want to write an angry review but rather an honest and factual review. I hired North of 9 Contracting to build my fence and deck and three other people on my street followed suit (with a fence). Quite frankly, I do not believe our fence is worth the money we paid. We paid over $40 per linear foot and the fence we got did not meet our expectations. Justin's quote was significantly higher than others, which was a concern myself and my neighbors shared. However, I believed that I was going to have an amazing fence and Justin would use quality materials. This was not the case. I have a fence that is just okay at best. Something that seemed odd to my neighbors was the fact that he wanted most of the money up front. The total cost of our deck and fence came to just over $12,000. Roughly $6,000 for the fence and $6,000 deck. He wanted over $8,000 upfront although our deck was not started until almost three months later. Again, not a big concern for a newbie like me as I trusted he was going to do an amazing job. Another thing that bothered me was the fact that he was coming and going a lot. He worked an average of 3-5 hrs/day. Something always seemed to come up and he had to leave early. Some days he didn't bother to show up at all. When he didn't show up he wouldn't even call to say he wasn't coming. So of course my wife was waiting around all day for no reason. This did not seem professional. However, this was not a primary concern of mine because I was paying for the job not by the day. When I went out to check on his work I noticed that the fence boards were not tight from day 1. When I expressed this concern he said there was nothing he could do. Now, a couple of weeks have passed and some gaps are so big I can fit my hand through. Thankfully, he did come back to correct a few of the gaps. However, I can only imagine what the fence will look like in the spring. I just paid over $6,000 for a fence and I am already thinking that I will be replacing all the fence boards next year. With the workmanship on our fence, I do not feel as though I would recommend North of 9 Contracting at their price point. If the price point was lower and someone wanted a decent fence then it would be perfect. However, we paid top dollar and expected the work to reflect that. To Justin's credit, he is a nice guy who tries extremely hard to please his clients. Without argument, he came back to repair things that we had asked to be repaired. Unfortunately, my neighbors are just as displeased with their fences as I am with mine. However, they may not take the time to write a review.

Called Justin up and described our issue, a 12 yr old deck was sagging. Justin suggested a cost effective repair on the phone.

Sure enough, Justin came out the next day and our deck is now sturdy and level, ready for a summer of entertaining.

We needed our fence repaired. A small section had completely disconnected and fallen over. Justin did a fantastic job repairing it. It is now very sturdy and I have no concerns sending my kids outside to play, or letting my cats out into the back yard, as the neighbours have rather large dogs. He was the only person to actually come out and give us a quote. I felt like it was an honest quote for the work he put into it, and I'm glad I contacted him and he was able to come out and get our fence standing again.

I liked the work Justin did for me. He was very professional and respectful. He listened to what I wanted and followed through. He completed the project in a timely manner and his workmanship was very impressive.

Recently hired Justin to repair/fix couple fence panels that were badly damaged and not properly secured into fence post, from a different company. I was extremely impressed not only by Justin's quickly response either through email/phone but also by his knowledge of what work that needed to be done. The fee of the job was very fair of $120, it only took Justin about an hour to do the repair & Justin ensured his work by talking me through what he had done. Thank you North of 9 Contracting! I have no more worries of fence panels falling down.

Justin just completed installation of a chain link fence for us. After having great difficulty finding a company to commit to the job, Justin contacted us through an ad we had online. He came out the next day and gave us a very competitively priced quote, so we hired him for the job. He is very thorough and ensured all proper guidelines are followed. We are very pleased with his work and would gladly recommend him!

I called Justin and he came the day and time he told me so. He gave me exact information of my fence that was literally falling down. He explained my options and sent me quotes right away. I had questions and he ALWAYS answered all of them.

Justin and his assistant, Kyle, have just finished the installation of a fence along our adjusted property line. The two men removed the old fence along the former property line, and then proceeded with the installation of the new fence. Justin worked with me to work out a plan to connect the new fence to an existing rear fence. Since the rear fence had a strange jog in it, we wanted the finished product to not look like an add-on. Justin solved the problem beautifully. I am very pleased with the work, with Justin's and Kyle's friendly co-operative manner, and I have no hesitation in highly recommending North of 9 Contracting.
