I contacted Peer construction group in August 2022. His website online seemed legitimate. He goes by the name of Tom or Ray Mail. He came to my property, gave me an estimate of $14,000 plus HST to do the retaining wall, weeping tiles and waterproofing.
He was very friendly and seemed knowledgeable.
I agreed to go ahead with the work and guaranteed to be done in 2 weeks. In 2 days he excavated the back of the building of 10 feet deep and removed the half of the floor joists of the interior unit to prepare the footings & retaining wall of 11 feet. Since August, Tom had left the back of my building wall fully exposed without safety measures in place. No shoring or fences to secure the area with 10 feet of hole and a huge mount of soil in the middle of the bcak parking. He never again showed up which he said would complete on 2weeks. I kept asking him and pushing to complete but always made excuses of being ill, burned foot, rain, no supplies where in fact there were plenty of cement, concrete availability. He kept asking for more money to lure me in by promising to also complete the interior renovations. He would set up fake HVAC, electritions, plumbers, and all sorts of trades but never did anyone would show up. He would ask for money to order supplies, but non ever arrived. When I ask for proof of receipts, he would come up with excuses of internet being down, his wife being in the hospital and endless excuses. He took over $74,000 via e-transfers since August and the back wall is still exposed in this harsh winter weather.
When I push him, he would ignore my calls and goes radio silence.
His workmanship is absolutely horrendous. The work area is messy, negligent and places his own interest ahead of his clients. He is charming, knows how to scam and swindle his clients. I have asked numerous times to refund my money, he refuses and come up with excuses and completely ignores all calls and email responses.
