Response from Reno-King
The drawings which I originally was asked to quote this job from did not meet the building code. They contained structural, insulation, window sizing, foundation and framing issues. The design required a complete rework to meet the customers wishes and needs. I absorbed not only the redesign costs, but also held tried to the original quote.
When I arrived at this home the roof was leaking, the insulation was saturated and part of the plaster ceilings had collapsed. When I left this building it had been inspected and approved by the building department for occupancy. It was in good repair and good condition. The customer had, in my opinion, unrealistic expectations and had escaped many charges for contract extras.
I do regret that this was the first customer in 14 years of business that I have been unable to reach common ground with.
