I am very, very satisfied with the quality of work Scully Custom Carpentry did at my residence this past October 31st week up until Nov. 20, 2017. They cleaned up. Built a brand new Shed, Repair the siding of the garage, that got fire damaged. The roof of the garage. Replaced the door to the garage. They worked diligently, even in weather conditions that were sub cero temperatures.

Martin Scully proved to be a very talented and caring craftsman. He was patient and careful, understanding of our needs, easy to talk to and flexible. His work was absolutely first-class. He used an impressive range of well-maintained power equipment safely and expertly, and also demonstrated great skill with hand tools, whenever this worked better. His pricing was reasonable and he generously fixed a few other small things as he was going. Martin also took care to disrupt our household as little as possible. He cleaned up continuously as work progressed, and meticulously checked over and attended to every detail as he finished. Great guy. Great carpenter and renovator.

Martin Scully recently completed a pergola for us. We are extremely pleased with his work. Martin does not cut corners and I believe the structure will outlast me. Martin has good aesthetic judgment and he has enough confidence to challenge a suggestion that he does not believe in. He transformed our ideas into reality very quickly. He is also very easy to deal with, probably because he is a genuinely nice person. Perhaps the best indication of our satisfaction is that we spent the evening following the completion of the pergola trying to find another project for Martin.

We hired Martin to replace and improve our deck, including putting a roof over 2/3 of it. He and his crew were punctual, polite and worked very hard, maintaining their timeline as promised. They did a great job, coming up with creative ideas to improve on our original plan. We are very pleased with the result and would recommend them to our friends.

Martin and his crew were very professional and personable throughout the duration of the job. Him and his crew showed up everyday on time and sought to deliver our requests and answer our questions. All of the sub-contractors that were involved were arranged through Martin and also showed up when expected. We also appreciated the fact that him and his crew took the time to clean up their work area everyday in our back yard.

Our deck looks very sharp and the workmanship is solid! Martin informed us that he does other renovations other than decks such as kitchens and bathrooms so if we ever need renovations in other areas of the house, Scully is definitely who we are contacting.

Since we just had the construction completed we are keeping the work quality at 4 stars so that we have some time to see how the deck holds up. We will re-evaluate the quality at a later date.

Martin and his crew did a fantastic job replacing our old deck. We were looking for a contractor that we felt would provide quality workmanship, not just the best price. Martin delivered quality workmanship and a great price. We highly recommend them and will definitely be calling them again for any future projects.

At first meeting, Martin asked many questions and listened to what I wanted or expected. He answered my questions. It was clear that he knew what was involved in a renovation and did not "sugar coat" his answers. He gave me a detailed proposal of what he would do and the price point (so no surprises for me).

He coordinated the various trades, along with the cabinet company to keep the reno on a tight timeline. If changes were necessary he gave me the reasons why and what my options were. The trades people he employed were all professional and capable. He made sure the work area was cleaned and tidy before leaving each day.

Martin was always cheerful; always professional. I would not hesitate to recommend Martin for any work required.

Martin arrived as promised on the day of the installation behind my stove, kept his word on his initial quote, made eye catching suggestions, was considerate of my schedule, was mindful of his footwear, and did a lovely job!

Due to some shifting in our home, which is an older home, part of subfloor pressed against water heater. Mr. Scully went out of his way to accommodate repair in a very timely manner. He is very professional, cordial, and his work is of high calibre. Not only is he really efficient, but is so tidy that there was no cleanup needed afterwards. He is also very reasonably priced. We will definitely avail of Mr. Scully's services in the future & highly recommend him.

​My wife and I designed a deck that presented a significant challenge to build. We wanted to utilize the latest advancements in decking material and their design capabilities. For this project we settled on Fiberon's Paramount decking. The design was not your typical square or rectangle deck, but would have rounded stairs, S curves and arcs inter-laid within the core structure. Interview/quote process to build this deck included five different companies. Two of which upon seeing the design declined the work. That left three to choose from. After interviewing each company and reviewing the scope or work and quoted estimate, it was clear Martin would be our deck builder. Martin provided an accurate comprehensive quote on time and material. He was up for a new challenge that would expand his deck building portfolio. This was his first project that required bending of deck boards. Martin and his team were very easy to work with. The completed project exceed our expectation, Martin built a masterpiece of a deck!

Martin Scully did a superb job of the total renovation of the main floor of our house. The job consisted of a wall demolition, replace broadloom with hardwood floors throughout, all new kitchen, bathroom, new basement stairs and banisters, doors (9 including closets), bedroom, baseboards and trim, in short the whole shebang. He was helpful with suggestions on design and materials, and made whatever changes we requested without hesitation. He and his guys were a pleasure to work with, always available, totally honest. He got the project done as we requested and on his estimate.

Scully Custom Carpentry did an amazing job on our backyard lattice to Block off one of those ugly green transformer boxes. I gave them a rough idea of what I wanted and Martin just ran with it and made it even better than I had hoped and the price was great!! I would recommend them to anyone and if we have any more jobs like this, you'll be getting a call for sure!

We hired Scully Custom Carpentry to complete a total kitchen renovation in the fall of 2015. We found Martin and his team to be very professional, courteous, and hardworking. Each day we were impressed to see how much had been accomplished. Martin took the time to go over the details of what had been done daily, asking questions on how we wanted to proceed (when needed), and answering our questions about the process. Even when we added extra things on to our original request (installing new hardwood throughout the entire main floor), Martin was cheerful and accommodating. He was quick to make suggestions about products and design ideas, which was much appreciated. During the renovation, his crew always left the house tidy at the end of the day and were keen to keep us and our two young children comfortable during the upheaval of such a major renovation.

Martin and his crew did a better job than I was anticipating. They removed the existing deck/overhang and replaced it with a beautiful 330+ sq ft cedar deck with overhang. I brought in 4 contractors for estimates and he was the only one that mentioned using piles for the deck overhang (which is absolutely needed), followed proper building codes, and used good quality materials.

His crew is skilled, kind, and courteous. I couldn't be happier with the result.

Scully Custom Carpentry was extremely quick with replying to e-mails, was on time, in addition to being very friendly and accommodating. He did an exceptional job, beyond what we were expecting. Would definitely hire again in the future.

We hired Scully Custom Carpentry to finish off various work left on our new house construction. Martin proved that he and his crew were able to tackle all the items we had left, which ranged from tiling, ensuite bathroom, kitchen backsplash, shelving and a two-tiered composite deck, among other various smaller deficiencies that required "troubleshooting". Although Martin is a skilled carpenter by trade, we were impressed at his ability to do all the work at a top notch level compared trades who may "specialize" in each area.

He was on time, worked hard and was reliable and he was even a great source for opinions and options on our projects. We dealt with many trades during the past construction of our home and Martin by far was the most knowledgeable and the most professional - we only wish we found him earlier in our build process. He is also honest, fair and an all-around good guy that we trusted and enjoyed having in the house, even with our young children running around. We have already referred him to several other people who were having a hard time finding a reputable contractor that they can trust.

I honestly don't think I could provide a better review of a contractor - we would hire him again in a heartbeat!

Martin's crew did very good work installing our laminate - his crew was efficient and did an excellent job fitting and finishing the laminate installation. They did an excellent job leveling the kitchen/hall floor in our basement suite before laying the laminate so it turned out very well. They did start a few days later than planned but did their best to accommodate our schedule. Martin was readily accessible to answer any questions before, during and after the work. I would highly recommend Scully Custom Carpentry.

I can't say one bad thing about Scully Construction, from our first meeting to the finished product. It went beautifully. Martin Scully was doing a neighbor's basement when he walked over to speak to us about our project. Estimates came via e-mail within 36 hours. Then another meeting to seal the deal and decide on the materials to be used. For the next 9 days they arrived early and worked a hard, full day. some days later than 5pm. They were smart, more than skilled, the cleanest reno crew ever and delightful to be around. I would recommend them in a heartbeat.

I can't praise these guy's enough. Fantastic workman ship. Very courteous. You just don't see this pride in workman ship anymore.

I had Martin and his crew build a new deck . They proved skilled , trustworth and curtious during the course of the build even going above and beyond to get it done as desired...I would not hesitate to use them again.

We had our existing deck re-surfaced and new railings added, plus an extension to a ground level deck with gazebo and planting area built in. The work was done in about 2 weeks and the mess all cleared up at the end. They did a lovely job and we're very pleased with the results.

We needed someone to replace a 37-year-old, second story, cantilevered, wraparound deck. Martin was prompt in responding to my request for a quote and completed the work in a very timely fashion. We were impressed with his workmanship, as well as with his professional and courteous manner. I would just like to provide a positive review of Scully Custom Carpentry. From the time I contacted Martin for a quote through to project completion, Martin is professional, courteous and trust worthy. I found him on the internet which was worry some, but Martin proves there are great people out there. We had some water issues in a bathroom wall. Martin, replaced the walls, and retiled masterfully around the entire area. I will be providing more work to Martin in the future as our home is 60+ years and is starting to require upgrades to the first renovation we did. Martin completed the work in orderly and speedy fashion, despite a hiccup or too that you always find behind a hidden wall.
