Scott was hired to do our kitchen Reno and to take down a wall. He is good at designing the kitchen, building IKEA kitchen sets and putting them in place, but other than that he fell short on his other “skills”, The transition from wall to wall was a poor job and uneven, the plumbing for the sink causes the sink to clog. He suggested I sand down the walls lightly and put a coat of paint on and hire a plumber to fix the sink. WHAT? Isn’t that what he was hired to do? HMMM. The other trades such as electrical and drywall/taping were done with his contacts and were done great. Just make sure to really look over the job prior to paying the final bill cause once he’s gone, he’s gone.
It is unfortunate that this client has had issues. But fairness needs to be addressed on this clients review. This job was completed and signed off on Feb.8/19. As with every job that I do, I ensure that every client has at least a full day prior to final payment to notify me of any discrepancies so that they can be addressed. Not only did this client have this opportunity but they also were home every day as the reno progressed to let me know of any issues. Nothing was mentioned. I have an email from the client dated clearly stating "the kitchen looks great and it was a pleasure having you renovate our kitchen". The client also sent me pictures of the kitchen after it was painted. Not sure what the transition on wall issue is but as client indicated that the drywall/taping was great, I'd assume that this would fall under this area?? I was notified by phone late July (5 months later) that the client was having an issue with the sink. I said that there was absolutely no change in the plumbing from original so the issue would most likely not have been from the reno. I said that I could look at it but there will be a fee for this or a plumber would need to be hired. I have heard nothing back from client since then and this review was now just posted. Let's be fair, to have this issue 5 months later (especially a kitchen sink), it would highly likely not be from the reno but I did offer to rectify it. I always go above and beyond for my clients as previous reviews have indicated and did the same for this client. It appears that this client didn't like the sink issue resolution and felt it necessary to make the comment, after 7 months.
Scott provided me with exceptional service and thanks to him and his team I am able to call my house a home again.
Four years ago I unfortunately ran into a renovation nightmare and most of my home was left a mess due to poor workmanship from a previous contractor. Once finally mustering the courage to finally resume the work I found Scott and we are incredibly thankful for him.
Scott was not only professional and courteous but also showed me time and time again how big of a heart he has. His attention to small details and workmanship blew us away.
Not only was Scott able to complete our project early but also kept on budget and included us in ever step of the renovation process. He was also sure to notify us of his work hours and stayed punctual during our renos all while working around the understanding that my household still needed to live in the house while he was working.
Being including in decisions was a pleasant experience and he was able to procure the materials quickly as to not lengthen the renovation further.
Scott’s work was always done with precision and at the end of each day his working area was always left clean.
In conclusion as most all other reviews I would greatly recommend SG Renovation & Design for any sort of renovation.
Thanks again for the wonderful experience and being able to demonstrate how a real and honest professional concludes business all while staying humble and kind!
Scott recently completed a renovation of my very dated bathroom and it looks fantastic. I am so happy with the results. Project was completed on time and within budget. Scott was very patient with me and my indecisiveness when picking out all the fixtures and offered some great suggestions. He is very professional and it shows in his workmanship. I recommended Scott to my brother, who also required a total bathroom renovation. Project was just completed and looks just as great as mine. Scott does excellent work. You will not be disappointed. Definitely would recommend.
