Joe Paul and all of his sub contractors were a joy to work with. They arrived when they should and all the work done was of the highest quality. Even if Joe was not on-site on a particular day, he was always available by phone to chat. I would not hesitate to use Joe and Summerset for any work that we may need in the future.

Joe has been amazing to work with! He is very open, honest and communicates clearly every step of the way so you have a clear understanding. We have hired him many times over the years from landscape projects to full interior builds & renovations.
Recently Joe & his team rebuilt the entire main floor of our older home completely down to the studs. They installed a gorgeous modern kitchen in solid white maple cabinetry, flaked with glass tiles, shiplap and hard wood floors. They removed and installed new black oversized windows over looking the lake.

From start to finish we were so impressed by Joe and his team. He walked us through every step. He provided us with a thorough and inclusive estimate showing us what methods he used, references from other jobs he had done, and itemized prices. We had no worries and it was clear what work was to be performed. As for the work.....Joe and his crew showed up on time every day, put in a full days work. We got an update every day of when they would be back and what was next to be done. The workmanship was impeccable. Joe is very particular and if his or his crew's work was not done right or off slightly he made sure it was corrected and perfect. We highly recommend Joe and his crew for any of your home renovation needs.

Best contractor ever! We hired Joe a second time as he did a total renovation of our living and dining rooms at our former house. The workmanship was outstanding and Joe didn't settle for anything less than excellent. Joe is very neat and although our current renovation included a lot of messy work (replacing floors, a ceiling and drywall work), the area was neatly taped off and dust was kept to a minimum. At the end of every day, Joe and his courteous crew left the area clean. Joe has saved us a lot of expense by being innovative with ideas that work and look good. The best part is that Joe does things as if it was his own home and takes pride in doing a great job. He looks after all the details and makes the extra effort. He really takes care of the entire project and is very fair when we ask him to do additional work. It is a pleasure to work with Joe and his team.

The quote from Summerset was very detailed which left us with very few questions to ask right from the start. The work Summerset did was very well done, and the house was left immaculate every day at all stages of the renovation. Great care was taken in situations that were uniquely tricky to our home and really awesome suggestions were made along the way that improved our overall results. When tricky situations occurred they were dealt with in a manner above and beyond expectations. Joe and his crew are very professional. They arrived to work site each day on time and cleaned up the workplace at the end of each day. Joe was always available to answer questions that we had and was helpful by providing his suggestion based on his experience in this industry. He was personally involved in the project from start to the end and coordinated with third party dealing for us. We are happy with the way the Project was completed within Budget and on time.

We started off with going through what needed to be done, a budget was formed and completion date given. Communication was key with Joe, we always knew what was happening and when! He was always quick in his response to any of our concerns.

We were referred to Summerset Construction by two sources (a designer and a cabinet maker, both who had used the firm on a number of occasions) when we decided to pursue an extensive and multi-faceted residential renovation. We had also interviewed two other contractors.
Joseph Paul from Summerset spent time to understand what we were looking to achieve and to thoroughly evaluate the site for the work to be done - and to address our questions as they came up. He took the time to meet with us on several occasions before we signed him up. We felt he was genuine and transparent regarding what and how Summerset would proceed - and that was very important to us.
Joe started at the promised time and kept us informed regarding progress or any issues / concerns that came up. He and his crew stuck to committed schedules and let us know if any time changes were needed, He met with us at the start of each day to discuss the previous day and what was coming up and that gave us opportunities to discuss any concerns or questions we might have had. Joe kept the sub trades well organized and and on schedule. Joe was always available to answer our questions - by phone or by email.
Our project progressed well and Joe addressed and/or accommodated changes as they came up. For instance when an issue came up that we had incorrectly located a shower bib due to the wrong placement in our drawings, Joe accommodated by opening the wall and moving the bib to the correct location. In addition, he identified that additional soffit venting was necessary so he went ahead and installed the necessary baffles to provide additional air flow in our attic.
Joe also worked very well with not only the sub trades, but also with the kitchen supplier and with our designer. The work Summerset completed was top quality - they clearly knew what they were doing, and did not cut corners.
As far as organization and cleanliness, the crew handled themselves in top notch form - they always left the site in a tidy fashion. They set up plastic barriers to minimize dust migration through the home and vacuumed / used dust bane regularly - renovating a main living area is no easy task and unfortunately (as expected) some of the dust travelled through the house or we tracked it under our shoes - no big deal.
Overall we were very pleased that we selected Joe with this large project - he and his crew didn't get flustered and always conducted themselves professionally and with integrity. I would highly recommend Summerset.
