Very disappointed with this company. I called for an estimate and they said it would cost me $20.00, a fee that no other company charged me, I did have 4 companies come to my house for an estimate. I agreed to pay the $20.00.
The visit for the estimate was on a Saturday Jul 17th. I paid the $20.00. I was promised to have the estimate by the following Wednesday, Jul 21st by email. By Wednesday in the afternoon I have not yet received the estimate. I called and left a voicemail, no one called back. The next day, Thursday, I called again and left a voicemail, still no one called me back. I used their Web Site to leave an email. I did get a reply the next day on Friday, Jul 23rd saying I was going to get the estimate by Mon Jul 26th. On Mon, Jul 26th in the afternoon I sent a friendly email to remind them about the estimate, there was no reply. On Wed, Jul 28th I sent another email asking for the estimate. The reply I received was that they are not taking projects like mine.
They wasted my time and paid $20.00 for an estimate I did not receive.
Hello
Thank you we appreciate your feedback!
The $20 service fee keeps our sales and service team employed. We showed up on time and at your convenience.
There was a longer delay due to the complexities in your project. We discussed it and this made it clear, not the type of work we service.
Before we could even return $20 not even 24hrs there was this review.
We have called and emailed you in regards to a refund for the $20 service fee.
Please contact us we're more than happy to return your $20.
Thank you we appreciate your business! Have a great day!
Jon did a great job, the estimate and quote were provided in a timely manner. Every day we got an email explaining what work was done and what the next steps were. Highly recommend this company! We will be getting our back patio done next summer.
Thank-you for your kinds words! We appreciate your business!
Have a great summer!
Jon offers great ideas and has several stamp patterns on hand. His sample blocks of actual stamped concrete makes it easy to see what you can expect.
His new slate pattern looks awesome and neighbours all stop and compliment this new stamp pattern. I believe he rents out his selection to other concrete Co as he has a considerable investment in pattern mats.
Our driveway had no corners cut! Lots of rebar / thicker than needed and cut expansive cracks that look natural. After 3 years it still looks great.
Originally I chose Jon because he seemed genuine and offered a warranty on this work. After 4 seasons this product is garbage ,and getting Jon to fix or even look at it has proven impossible.I am terribly disappointed in this Company ,and regret recommending them to my clients, friends and family.Anyone thinking of using them ,feel free to email me ,and I'll send photos of what they can expect to happen.
A little update after a year. Concrete looks great. Exposed Aggregate lost the luster as expected but no cracking and looked new after a coat of sealer. Great job. I get compliments left and right ..thank you art of concrete.
We had a large patio installed in our backyard this summer & we are happy to say it went very well. The end product is excellent & we have rec'd many positive comments. Jon & his crew are a great team.
I won't hesitate to recommend them to anyone & will ask them back again in the next year or so to do my driveway.
If you need concrete work done, you owe it to yourself to include Jon as one of your contacts for a quote. If you choose him you will be treated with respect & ,based on our patio, a fine end product.
We had an exposed aggregate driveway, stamped concrete patio, and a brushed concrete patio done by Jonathan Lavallee of Art of Concrete, July 2011. Everything turned out terrible. Exposed aggregate was inconsistent on driveway most looked more like coloured concrete. Walkway cracked after two days, slope from front steps to driveway not up to code it was too steep and a safety hazard. Sealant appeared streaky. Patio- too much slope, our barbeque rolls right down the patio and water still pools on it in some areas. He did not even excavate it. The super thick concrete patio was installed on top of gravel on top of grass and attached to our foundation with rebar. The shed pad is not proper dimensions and also uneven. Also not properly excavated installed on top of gravel on top of grass. Gravel under both shed pad and patio is coming out or undermining therefore will be exposed to frost damage. He was not willing to remove all work and refund us therefore we are going to small claims court. He also had two other jobs on our street in Kitchener and both of those had similar issues with the workmanship. He often worked alone and tried to do more than one job at a time. Engineer report by KSmart confirmed all of the above issues. VERY POOR WORKMANSHIP!!! SUBSTANDARD AND UNSAFE FOR USE!!!
As a small business owner I take great pride in my work and care about each job. I have immense passion for my business and the end products. If there ever is a problem that arises in the job even if they are out of my control- I try my best to resolve the issue.
When working with these particular customers and the issues that they had, I offered many reasonable solutions but they refused all of them. One of these offers was to replace the patio, take off a few thousand dollars and reseal the other work for two seasons which is about a $1500 value. Due to their refusals of my solutions that were even more than I would normally offer, this matter is now being taken care of in a legal matter. As a small business owner I simply could not afford to give them what they demanded and even if I could have - doing that would have been unfair.
In addition to the over-the-top demands, these particular customers were also very difficult to deal with due their many unprofessional acts. Some of these actions were; threatening to ruin my business, being aggressive and rude, tracking down my home number that is unlisted and calling me there instead my business number, showing up at my old address where my family lives multiple times to the point where my family felt harassed, showed up at my other job sites to intimidate me and harass my other customers. Also, they showed up at my property without my consent multiple times. My neighbor informed me that they were there even when I was not and they never tried to call beforehand making myself and girlfriend feel threatened. They made all these hostile actions when it was not necessary, as I always was willing to speak with them and never ran away from the problem. The only time I stopped a conversation with them is when I was being disrespected and yelled at.
If they are still willing to take any of my more than generous and reasonable offers I would be more than happy to follow through. Bottom line is that all I wanted to do was to fix the issue and it seemed like all they wanted to do was fight.
