We recently hired Mr. Gianfranco Lucente to repair our deck.
He and his website claimed to be able to professionally complete the repairs.
He initially quoted us 700 dollars for the repair including the cost of the deck planks (he was supposed to purchase and replace 11 deck planks).
He instead purchased only 8 planks and refused to show us the invoice for the cost. He demanded payment of 300 dollars cash immediately for the planks without wanting to show us the invoice.
He proceeded to install 4-5 planks on the deck, all uneven, some with large gaps. He wasted a few pieces of the planks because he kept cutting the wood incorrectly. When we confronted him about his poor workmanship, he became upset and did not want to fix the issues or complete the project.
Of course we were angry at GianFranco as his poor workmanship has now made our deck unsafe and a serious trip hazard and we are seniors and do not want to risk falling and getting hurt on our deck!
We called GianFranco and emailed him several times about this issue always promising to return to fix things or to return our $300, as long as we did not post a negative review about his work.
Despite his many promises GianFranco never returned to complete the project or to refund the money he took from us.
All we wanted was for the work to be done in a professional matter.
Be Warned: DO NOT TRUST this handy man!
