Paul shows up at my house to give a estimate to get 17ft X 20ft patio stones laid down. I had it dug out and stoned. I only wanted to see how much he would have charged after more than half the work was done. He asks me what size stone and a deadline, then tells me it would be approx, $14000. Yes FOURTEEN THOUSAND DOLLARS!!!
I currently got 4 other estimates and they’re ranging from $3500 to $5600. So then I knew he didn’t want the job...
Then ends it with telling he is charging me $90 + tax of course for him to give me a idiotic estimate. There’s nothing on his website about estimates. Only to contact him by putting in your info on his website. Mind you it only took him a few hours to cash my Chaque. Dont ask this company to come give you a estimate for anything. He comes and gives you a stupid amount just cash your Cheque asap. Dang at 5 estimates a day to get no jobs is $500 a day.
This review does not contain true information, as to my encounter with the reviewer. I contacted him by phone in response to his inquiry about help with building the patio. During our phone conversation, I asked, if he had a chance to look at our website to see how our design and build process works. After I explained, we charge for consultation unless he has drawing with material specifications /in that case we can prepare free of charge estimate/ he booked consultation meeting.
He had a full knowledge of the consultation charge at that time. When I arrived on the site, I realized my prospect is building his landscaping himself. I spent close to one hour analyzing the site and giving him the best tips and advice based on my 30 years of experience in the landscape industry.
When he asked for an estimate including materials he wanted to use, I gave him verbal budgetary cost, only. I never prepared any written estimate yet, as I promised to email it to him within the next two weeks.
Due to lack of the access to the site /thru garage narrow door only/ unfortunately the cost of this project will be higher than other similar projects. Since the reviewer is D.I.Y. person and all he wanted was advise a and information how to do it, I feel our consultation charges are very fair, providing I made 100km to meet him.
