Yvan Haince was hired to renovate a house in Halifax. He undertook the project based on an agreed-upon price of $52,000. He was fired after going about 50% over budget, and having finished about 50% of the project. A new contractor was hired to finish the job but it cost about $32,000 to correct the substandard workmanship left behind by Yvan Haince. The right picture shows the back wall of the laundry, discovered by the new contractor when he pulled the appliances out. The laundry room was supposedly finished, and Haince received his progress payment for it.
