We currently have laminate floors in our second floor. I'd like to have them replaced and make sure they're not squeaky. Roughly 465 sq ft.
We also have an unsafe/loose railing above the stairs that I want to replace.
We would remove the current laminate floors ourselves. Any idea on installation costs? We aren't sure if we want to put down hardwood or new laminate.
We are also considering removing the lathe & plaster walls in the hallway and replacing them with drywall. Is it best to do this prior to the floors or is it ok to do at a later date?
To replace the laminate flooring you could be looking at any where from $6.00 to $12.00 a sf depends on the flooring and prep work.
The stairay handrail you could be looking at any where from $25.00 to $45.00 per 25 liner foot also depends on the railing you want.
I personally would do the drywall before the flooring.
Hello. usually walls are first. Then depending on what the plan is for the railing will determine when floor goes in.
Hope this helps
